You are confused I think. There is a Tube Drive stomp but no Tube Comp.

i wish i was confused, but my manual clearly shows the tube comp as being included with the 300, it shows others that are exclusive to the 400 and 500

also the adverts that i read mentioned the tube comp on the 300

oh well,

liked the 300 so well i bought a 500

Could you post your references as my 300 manual plus the links on this site make no mention of a Tube Comp.

Otter... is the 500 worth the extra dough over the 300 or 400 in your opinion? I don't really care about looping time really. All I want is a great "crunchy" tone like the Edge's in the song Vertigo, awesome control over delays that is easy to adjust on the fly, and good "rock" tone. I'm in a Praise and Worship band at a large church and one of the "leaders" so to speak. My role is going to increase, so I want something that sound great direct, or thru a power amp, and easy to use. I don't want to sit and tweak so much that I've lost my senses.

I know, I need to look at the comparison charts to see for myself... but for instance... if the 400 or 500 has "oh man, you've GOT to have this model", then I want to know about it! Example... I've always thought the Cornford amps sounded GREAT in PodFarm, and even some of the Bogner and Engl models for "mid-Gain" stuff. I rarely need anything that involves DEATH, and I usually can't stand using a "pure clean" sound, unless it's compressed and used for chimey textues. My role is all about textures and delays really.

For instance... I do a LOT of stuff with delay that sorta gives me that VH Cathedral type repeat, or Where the Streets Have No Name intro. I do stuff like that all day long. And it's hard to get just right on the fly... esp if the drummer is a tick off on his tempo from set to set. Tap tempo doesn't always get it right away. And I'm standing on a platform infront of a 1,000 people, carrying the entire song... I can't be bending over going on a delay time oddessy. The TC Nova delay pedal is really cool. Our worship leader has one, and loves it because it's easy to use on the fly.

I've been searching for this as well...  The Line 6 Model Gallery (Rev D v2.10) show that the "Tube Comp" effect should be available for all Pod HD devices.  See page 30.  Effects that are limited to the HD400 or HD500 have either a black circle or black star next to their names.  The "Tube Comp" effect is listed as being available for the HD300.

HopefullyLine6 adds this to the HD300 in a future software release instead of just changing the manual ;-)

The information above may not be current, and you should direct questions to the current forum or review the manual.
