by razmag84 on 2011-03-13 20:40:05

Hi guys, I got my POD HD500 on 9march after waiting for FOUR month because there's no stock in my country.

everything great until yesterday (13march) the display just BLANK and NO BLINKING LIGHT ( please refer the attachment ) and today I’m lucky because the dealer will exchange it for me before this Friday. but I’m afraid it will happen again. I try to reconnect/even reboot my laptop & reinstall the  monkey but it still the same, blank and my laptop cannot detect my POD. WHY this is happen?

Try powering your Pod up in safe mode, then reflash the firmware.

Safe mode:

Hold down the right button on the 4-way switch to the right of the LCD as you power the unit on.  This should put you in Safe Mode/Test Mode.

Question: I can see that you're writing in from Malaysia.

Did you purchase this first POD HD500 from the Malaysian Dealer/Distributor? Or did you purchase a U.S. unit from a U.S. dealer and have it shipped overseas to you?

This is very important for us to know. Please be honest and let us know the history of your purchase origin.

Hi Perry,

Yes, I bought it from Malaysian dealer. I didn’t ask where they get it but from the box I can see it shipped from Singapore. Same with the exchange unit.  (I’m happy for the fast exchange service)

I asked few Malaysian dealer last November about the POD and they inform me that they don’t have the stock same with Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong.

My Tap Tempo blinking light stopped working too. Will reboot as per instructions above to see if it fixes the problem. I'll let you know.

I got the same problem

what we can do?

The tap tempo light is a setting in the unit.  You can enable/disable it-don't remember where.  Reflashing will likely just set it back to the default, which is to NOT blink.

Have any of you guys actually tried this suggestion?

I'm not sure this can be of any help, but I'll write this anyways.

I own a POD HD desktop and I've had the same problem. I've bought it from U.S. and once it arrived here in EU I've noticed the typical US PSU. I haven't find any specific information on manuals and on the POD HD web page so I've got a PX-2g PSU. It worked perfectly for something like 2-3 weeks, till one day the pod didn't turn on at all. Got Another PX-2g and it worked fine for 2 days, and then it got rows at the display like craudio's pictures. After searching through the forum and testing ( better not asking how) with the stock PSU it worked fine so here's Why.

New POD HD units are working ONLY WITH 9V DC 3A Power units. The classic PX-2g unit that worked fine for most of POD units and others is an AC Power unit so it's not fine with HD products.

I know that maybe this isn't the problem you've had, but maybe someone else had this problem and I wish that line6 pointed this out CLEAR in the site and in the manual, and not just on the DC-3g web page ( POD HD PSU). On top of that the stock PSU has a Voltage range that goes from 100V to 240V, Anyone here correct me if I'm wrong, as this is what it seems reading the DC-3g page, and in fact i've used the unit succesfully here.

I've been trying to find the suggestion page to send line6 a couple advices, but I can't find it anymore. Let me point out that I'm not unhappy with Line6 as I own a POD X3, POD HD and a UX2 with Podfarm 2 Full. I just wanted to give some ( I hope) useful suggestion.

I hope everything I've written is correct, and if this is the case I hope this can be useful to anyone.

JD

I bought it 30 May 2011, but have a display problem too. I resent it to USA. And waitin, waiting by this day. Service centre tell me - that my POD HD500 in repair now. (((  And total price of HD500 for me now - more than $1000 (including price of HD500 and price of post service) - but it's not my mistake, why I must to loose money? ((. Why, my favorite company Line 6 doing this???? I saw - a many - many peoples have the same problem.

Why Line 6 not tested POD 500, why they produce a defective devices? It's not good advertisement, not good reclame for company. It's only good for competitor companies ( AXE, BOSS... etc).

I'm in sorrow...
