by metalsir on 2011-03-17 08:57:36

hi,

i'm a new "pk pod" user.. i have few questions for you amazyng people.. =)

1) is possible storing the wah settings on the pod? or i can use the wah only with my pod connected to the pc with the
vyzex on?

2) if not, some of you can explain me if there is any setting to get a similar sound (i mean of my presets with the wah switched on) using ONLY the pod (not connected to the vyzex)?

really tks a lot, i hope someone can help me.. becouse without this feature the pod is unuseful for my way of playing..

Metalsir,

The wah can only be enabled and controlled in the Vyzex software and CANNOT be accessed with out being connected to that program. You can save your settings to a preset on the POD so that you can use it without being connected to the POD, but you will not be able to control or edit the wah parameters outside that program.

On board there are several contacts H1 ... Is it possible for them to solder connector Wah pedal but where to get the wiring diagram can from POD2.0

the problem is that THERE IS NO WAY to save this parameter at all.

once i disconnect the pocket pod from vyzex, and i reboot it (for going to play elsewere) the preset sounds WITHOUT the wah. and when i connect again the pod to the software the wah is turned off.

how to STORE the wah settings for using the pod with this cool modulation pedal on (even after i switched off the ppod)?

really tks a lot

The only way to do what you're trying to do with your POCKET POD in a "live" situation is to use an actual Wah Pedal between the guitar and the POCKET POD. There's no way to control wah parameters with a POCKET POD. While you can do this via software control (when recording or practicing at home), for live scenarios you're going to need an external Wah Pedal.

There's no way around that, sorry man.

i use the wah FIXED wide opend all the time. so there is no time to set the wah at ONE POINT and let the ppod sound with this setting up even when disconnected from the pc?

i basically don't care about controlling the wah, but just store ONE fixed amount of opened wah on the preset, and that's it.

really tks

Hi,

Yes, I tried several tests. While you can get a "fixed-position" Wah setting when the Vyzex software editor is running and the USB is connected, there's no way to "save" that state into the memory of the POCKET POD such that after you disconnect the device and use it standalone that it will have the Wah fixed-position active.

Sorry, man. It doesn't do this. Only our larger POD's (PODxt, POD X3) have this capability. You'll need an actual Wah pedal in front of the unit to accomplish what you're trying to do live.

Save the 2 files. l6t with WAH = ON and WAH = ON. Compare the contents of 2 files. They are the same. Hence the switch is not saved or loaded. Need to be updated. Sorry for my English.

As Line6Perry says and as you guys noted, PocketPOD does not store the Wah state inside the preset dump - The Vyzex editor 'could' fake around this by storing your wah state elsewhere in the bank file and then send the correct CC to turn it on when each preset was loaded but there would be the following issues:

1. Without the editor (and computer) connected this wouldn't happen - You'd be back to the No Wah situation

2. If you re-uploaded the sounds from PocketPOD into the editor all the wah settings would be lost.

So really, the editor can't add wah position storage because at the heart of it PocketPOD (like POD 2.0 before it) does not actually store your Wah position.

PODxt and the later PODs on the other hand... Well they do this an a lot more...

Cheers,

Tony

I bet there is a way of updating the software of the pocket pod so that it is able to store wah settings....
