Use FBV MkII to send midi notes
by iamspent on 2011-05-19 06:40:25

I'm looking for a foot controller to trigger the samples on my korg kaoss pad which are setup to use midi notes not control changes (unless I'm misreading the manual).  Could someone tell me if the FBV Express MkII
FBV Shortboard MkII
can do that?  If you need more info just let me know and I'll try to explain it better (midi is not exactly my best subject!).

Thanks in advance for the help

The FBV MKII series controllers only send the following types of MIDI control data events:

  • Bank Change
  • Program Change
  • MMC
  • Mackie Control

Unfortunately it doesn't generate MIDI Note #'s. You'd have to find a MIDI keyboard controller or a MIDI keyboard bass pedal controller to do this. Like this unit:

The information above may not be current, and you should direct questions to the current forum or review the manual.
