Win7 64-bit: Toneport Doesn't Work After Upgrading Drivers and Pod Farm 2
by Hydrophish on 2011-06-01 11:03:59

Hi,

I was having terrible pops and crackles even after following the audio optimization tips, so I upgraded my drivers via Line 6 monkey.  After rebooting, I now have no sound from my toneport device.  When I open the audio settings panel, it says "driver operating at: (inactive)".  It also shows "ASIO Client: (none)", which I'm certain is the issue.  How can I get this thing to install properly?

Thanks,

Hey Hydrophish,

Please download and install our new tool Line 6 License Manager, which is available for free download from the link below:

http://line6.com/software/index.html

Once you have installed it successfully, launch it and login to your Line 6 User account. Then all you have to do is authorize your computer and your Line 6 Gear.

To regain inputs in POD Farm 2.5 please try the following:

-Launch POD Farm 2.5 with your USB device connected to your USB port.

-After the program launches, disconnect the USB cable from the USB device for about 5 seconds.

-Replug the USB cable into the USB device.

-Open the preferences menu from the file menu.

-Reselect your USB device and click apply.

-You should then see the Inputs tab appear and now receive sound.

Thanks for the response, but of course I had already done all of that stuff based on the suggestions already being discussed on this forum.  Unfortunately it still doesn't work.  No sound, and it says no driver loaded.

Hey Hydrophish,

Make sure to install Line 6 Monkey as well as the drivers for your operating system before trying to connect the POD. They are both available for free download from our software page below:

http://line6.com/software/

After successfully installing Line 6 Monkey and the drivers please try removing any additional unnecessary USB and firmware devices from your computer when troubleshooting this issue. Make sure to connect it directly to a USB port and not a USB hub, extension, or keyboard of any kind, preferably connect it to a USB port on the rear of computer. Try using additional USB cables and every USB port available.

Launch Line 6 Monkey and apply any updates that are available.

If after trying all the USB ports without success please try the following:

Although we always recommend using the latest drivers, in this case where the updated drivers have created a problem when connecting your your toneport device. Please use Line 6 Monkey to roll back your drivers to the version hear sound.

From there we can attempt to troubleshoot the pops and clicks situation. Please make sure to reference the following optimizations:

In addition, if you are using a DAW, try increasing the buffer size on the audio preferences menu. As well as changing the buffer size on the Line 6 Audio-MIDI device menu which is located on the Control Panel can help with pops and clicks.

Uninstalled EVERYTHING and re-installed and that seemed to do the trick.  I had tried this once before, but I might have left around Monkey and some other stuff, so uninstalling ALL LINE 6 products seemed to work.
