New amplification for your POD HDxxx - DT25
by Vettaville-nl on 2011-09-24 14:05:49

Hey Guys,

A new video showing a Line 6 DT25 Adaptive amp just showed up on the net. 25 Watt Head and closed cab, Line 6 Link equipped. Cool looking portable amp.

Connects your L6LINK equipped POD HDxxx to this DT25 amp.

Wadda you think?

Cheers

Price, price, price?  I don't know why Line 6 doesn't make an amp that could be used with the HD units for around $700-$800.  Both HD and amp would fly off the shelves.

Anderton's lists the combo for 669 pounds, which is around $1000, and the head for 599 ($925).  Wonder what the real street price will be.

That includes the VAT though.  You need to subtract that tax before converting the currency.  For example, Anderton's lists the new Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster as 338 pounds, but it will retail in the US for $379.  Anderton's is listing the combo amp at 699 pounds, so doing a little quick figuring, that puts the US retail at around $750.

It has the L6LINK, that's the way the HD500 is coupled and being demonstrated by switching the topologies, amp class etc.

When is this thing available?

Last night they had a place holder in the amp section for products with no info, now it's gone.

I would love to try this thing

I remember this hub-bub happened last year with the intro to the HD series.  Mid to late September were the rumors about them about to hit the streets.  Item was released early October.  I remember I got mine around the middle of October and I ordered it as soon as it was released.  Maybe we're looking at the same schedule here.

I'm in Canada, but Anterton's say available Oct 3rd.

So ya, looks like you are right on.

BTW when used with a HD Floor unit, stereo operation is possible (using 2 DT 25's...

Love the 10 watt option as well.

I want, I want. I want...

This thing looks amazing.  It seems that Line 6 has been pushing the bar forward at a riduculously fast pace in the past couple of years.  The products are getting so much better with these types of collaborative effort with the best names in the industry.  It's awesome to see a company whose goal is clearly to make amazing products for their customers.  This thing is perfect for me, and I think it will have no problem flying off the shelves!   I will be proud to have the Line 6 badge on nearly my entire rig now.

I hope this doesn't hit the street too soon.  I need some time to sell some gear to raise some funds.

Thanks for the updates.

The manuals mentions L6 Link working with the HD 300/400/500 but doesn't mention the Pro.  I assume it does work with the Pro, and someone forgot to tell the tech writer to add it to the manual?  ;-)

It will applicable for HD Pro aswell, don't worry (be happy  ;-)  )

cheers

No worries.  I used to be a tech writer so I'm all too familiar with not getting updates from the development team / not remembering to add things to an existing document  ;-)

heads up at sweetwater. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DT25-HD/

899 USD, quite a bit higher than i expected... might be in DT50 112 price range when you add the cab

Re: New amplification for your POD HDxxx - DT25
by Nick_Mattocks on 2011-09-28 00:08:31

At advertised UK prices the DT-25 head at Andertons (UK dealer) = £599.99 GBP including 20% Value Added Tax (ex VAT the price would be £500 but unless you're a business owner registered for VAT and can claim back the VAT that's irrelelevant LOL) and at today's (28 Sep 2011) current currency exchange rates that comes out at $938.53 USD so whilst Sweetwater's price seems a little higher than I would have expected too their price is still less than the UK price by about $39, so not a million miles apart.

Re: New amplification for your POD HDxxx - DT25

I've added pricing for Holland and the comparison to the DT50 pricing for convience, just to add to what Nick explained in good detail.

Re: New amplification for your POD HDxxx - DT25

So Holland is cheaper than the UK partly due to the difference in VAT by about £14 GBP, so the league tables for the price of the DT-25 head put the three countries in the following positions (for fun only if we're scoring points LOL):

1 = USA

2 = Netherlands

3 = Great Britain
