How to Search These Forums
by LazyLightning on 2011-10-03 19:55:20

I have read through these search tips but they do not seem to be working for me: http://line6.com/support/search-tips.jspa

I have been searching for discussions regarding the hd500 and global tap tempo. When I type: "global tempo" (minus the quotes) in the search field at the top of the page, I get 2 results, buit neither really seems applicable, unlike these posts which I think should show up in the search results:

http://line6.com/support/message/299520#299520

http://line6.com/support/message/317608#317608

http://line6.com/support/thread/58432?tstart=150

If I include the quotes and search for "global tempo" I get zero results. What should I search for to return the three disucssions listed above?

Thanks!

The search function seems to only go through documents by default and not discussions.  Under the "What:" in the area below where you type what you want to find, choose "all" or the first icon afterward indicating discussions if you want to search the discussions.

This is what you should get searching only the discussions for global tempo:

If you look to the right of this post you will see a box called "More Like This" which has threads that relate to the current thread you're looking at. Not many people seem to use it though.

Thanks Mr. Arkadin... I do see that and it is VERY helpful! Kinda funny, but I think my future process may be:

1) Create new post instead of searching

2) View the post and check out the "More Like This"

3) Make a note in my original post that I found the answer in one of those other posts

Ok, that's a joke of course.... But the problem is, I need to find a relevant post first, before the forum offers me other similar discussions, and I am having trouble finding any single post, for example, when I search for "global tempo".

Hey LazyLightning,

gregr was correct in the fact that once you enter your search, on the search results page click the symbol of two speech bubbles next to where it says "What:". You might also want to change the sort by option to date for more recent entries.

For information about the HD500 Global Tempo, please reference the HD500 Advanced User's guide page 2.8 for information about adjusting the global tempo of the POD HD500.

My apologies - I somehow never saw your post, gregr... I tested this and it's exactly what I was missing. Thank you for your reply! I have marked ti as the correct answer.
