HD300 jammed up while trying to update
by sbetz on 2012-01-29 07:00:43

What the heck is going on?

I tried to update the software, and when I try to update the firmware, it says it is not connected (but it is).  To make matters far worse, I was in the middle of updating the flash and it stopped in the middle of the download and now the 300 does not work!  Even after unplugging it says 'please wait'.  Now the 300 will not even connect to Monkey.

Bottom line is that now since I have tried to update, the device is useless.

Please help!!!!!

Try turning the power on while holding down A Footswitch.  This will cause a Factory Reset but beware, all factory patches will be restored.

The latest version of Line 6 Monkey (1.50) is buggy.  Line 6 has confirmed this.   The fix is to use an earlier version of Monkey.

Try downloading and installing Line 6 Monkey 1.43 to see if that works better for you:

Monkey 1.43 Windows:

style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">Monkey 1.43 Mac:

http://line6.com/getrelease?rid=4222

Installand run Monkey.  If it prompts you to upgrade itself:  answer 'No' as this would defeat the object/.

Reinstall the the Line 6 Drivers using Monkey 1.43.   The drivers you install may be older than the ones that your current ones - this is OK.

See how this works out for you.

Didn't work.

It did let me walk through the step and calibrate the pedal, but when it was done it went right back to the 'Please wait..." alarm.

Hmmm ... not good.  And you used  Monkey 1.43?

I don't know of any deeper level of 'safe mode' on the HD300 so, unless anyone else has any bright ideas then it may be a warranty issue.

Anyone?

Hi,

The fact that the unit lost connection in the middle of an update and will not boot is definately not good. If it will not connect to a computer at this point it needs to go to an authorized service center for repair:

I took it to an authorized repair center, and they said the mother chip was fried, so it was replaced under warranty.  Don't know if this was really necessary, but it does work now.
