how do I save patches and assign where I want them to go? and MORE!
by elusivechris on 2012-01-29 15:59:20

Hello,

this is my 1st post. So sorri if I come across as ignorant lol! I recently bought a USED X3LIVE. My question is. Where do I start when creating patches and delegating them to the channels I want?

For example. When creating ANY patch, where do you start? Is it the "USER" section? low gain, high gain, songs etc? I have read the manual but it doesn't really give any detail on this at all!

Once i have a created a patch (which I have no problem doing) How do I assign it to the proper channel and letter?

   thank you

  Chris Dalcin

After creating a patch, press the SAVE knob on the top left of the X3 Live. Then rotate the same knob to choose a User location where you want to save the patch. If you want, you can then use the small knobs under the display to rename the patch. Then press the SAVE knob again to complete the operation.

WOW,

I know this was a really stupid question, but I REALLY thank you for answering it. the other question wasn't answered, So may I ask you again?

When creating a patch. Does it matter where I start from? Example, can I go to any of the folders (lo gain/hi gain etc )and create a sound to put in my user folder?

also whats the purpose of the 1 with the arrow pointing to a number 2?

and whats the lil lock and unlock emblem mean?

sorry I know these are very mundane questions. I just haven't found my answers yet.  Chris

You can store patches top any User preset folder - not the other folders. But yes, you can go any of the other folders, edit the patch or not, and then save it using the described method to any User location.

The purpose of the other icons (arrow, 1+2, and the lock) are very clearly described, along with diagrams that I can't produce here, in the X3 User Guide on pages 4.7 through 4.10. Please read these pages again. Basically, the arrow and the numbers are used to select whether you want to recall Tone 1, Tone 2, or both when recalling a preset from one of the folders. The lock icon controls the Lock Tone 2 feature.
