JTV-69 alternate tunings - loose brightness
by nkrcompany on 2012-02-05 00:19:35

Hi All,

I'm experiencing that as I change my alternative tuning further to the standard (half note down, 1 note down ... baritone) the digital sound looses its brightness. You can observe this very well when you switch to an acoustic modell and change its tuning.

Is there anybody how experiencing this? Can you suggest any solution?

Thanks

Norbert

Is it possible for you to provide us with a sound sample that illustrates this loss of brightness? Make sure include the variax workbench patch for the guitar model used for the sound sample, or the model and settings used.

Hearing the sound, we can compare it our models to see if what you are experiencing is expected behaviour or not.

Thanks.

Hi,

I would be interested to hear this as well. I have noticed that when you tune down to far enough you could loose some pick attack (In recording terms genrally somewhere around 2-4k in standard tuning). I would imagine this to be normal as the frequency of the attack will be decreased as you tune down. This would be the same if you actually tuned down a steel string on a guitar.

Thanks,

David
