XD-V70 Firmware update? How?
by MadChicken on 2012-02-07 14:52:54

I read in a few docs here how you can use the v2.0 firmware on the XD-V70.  However, the XD-V70 receiver has no USB jack that I can see.  Is it hidden somewhere?  Or is all the documentation that talks about it just misleading?  Is this supposed to be a shop upgrade or something?

I read: http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2586">http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2586">http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2586and http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2585">http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2585">http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2585but they make no sense unless there is a USB jack somewhere.

you have to have a 75 unit as well...

Correct.  You have to have access to a V75 receiver as it is the only piece that has a USB connection.  With it you can flash any other Line 6 2.4G wireless unit by connection it to Line 6 Monkey.

That's strange and more than a little disappointing.  Guess we're stuck with old firmware.

Thanks anyway.

I'm getting a fauly xd-v70 (handheld version)  replaced with a new unit, which is being shipped to my merchant. Is that model being shipped with the new firmware, or do I have to buy a $600 xd-v75 to upgrade my unit?

Also, Is it possible to send our units for updates to Lie 6. If this is possible, how much would the precedure cost?

We couldn't have offered firmware upgrades until there was a means to connect the devices to a computer.  We decided that we could do it with the V75 receiver by adding a USB port and that it was better to offer upgrades to those who could gain access to an XD-V75 than to not offer it at all.

The 2nd document you quote above,   http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2585explains that you can use the XD-V75 receiver to upgrade your other Line 6 XD-V and Relay wireless products via its USB and antenna output ports.

If you don't have access to an XD-V75 receiver then please contact your dealer or customer support to see what arrangements can be made to provide the service.

The wireless team at Line 6 is committed to offering an upgrade path on future products, the XD-V75 is the first on this path.

Thanks for using Line 6 wireless.
