I just bought POD farm as a tone Plug-in. In the store where I bought it, they told me that it contained sounds for both the mac format and PC-format (au and vst).
So, now I've installed POD farm on my Mac and when I start the program it tells me that "no compatible Line6 devices have been detected". Now, I don´t own a Line6 pod of any kind, nor any kind of line6 hardware. I bought this software as sounds to use in programs like garageband and cubase. I have a Tascam audio interface witch I use to plug my guitar into.
My question is:
1- Must I have a Line6 hardware product to be able to use these sounds, and in that case, where could I find that information on the box the installations CD came in?
2- Or is it possible to use the sounds as ordinary plug-ins for any music editing software like garageband without any Line6 audio interfaces or pods.
3- How does it work with the iLok key they say I need according to a note in the box the installation CD came in. Do I have to buy one of those from iLok to get this product to work?
As you might tell, I'm pretty frustrated:)
Hope some one can answer these questions for me.

1 - No, you bought the iLok version
2 - The iLok version will only work as a VST, RTAS, or AU plug-in from within your recording software
3- You will need to purchase an iLok key and deposit your POD Farm license to it in order to authorize the plug-ins
The stand-alone version will not work with the iLok version in any way. Sorry.

Wow, that was a quick answer.
So the music retailer where I bought this product from should have told me I needed to buy a USB dongle for the license. Do I then always have to have that USB dongle inserted to be able to use the sounds i for example garageband. Just wondering cause the lack of USB-ports for too many devices.

Yes, you will always need to have the iLok inserted if you want to use POD Farm. Line 6 does sell a version that will work without any Line 6 gear, or the iLok, but you can only purchase it from the Line 6 store, not from music stores.
