Can I use POD HD500 as a MIDI controller and its functions at the same time?
by masarez on 2012-03-07 12:04:41

I just want to connect POD 2.0 in its FX loop and then control it with the HD500 via MIDI. However, I still want to use the HD500's functions i.e. I want to use amp model from POD 2.0 while using the modulations from the HD500. Can I do that?

Hi,

Theoretically, yes. You should connect your guitar to the POD 2.0 and the L./Mono out of the 2.0 to the FX Return of your amp.

Next connect the HD500 via MIDI and use it to control the amp.

short answer: YES

long answer: I am doing this and I am using the 4 cable method with a Marshall JVM. I am using the pod to change channels and settings on the Marshall. It is really great. The best thing is that it is really easy to program the midi signals to the Marshall.
