How do I get artist / song settings in the user banks? (spider iv 75)
by michaelrijsdijk on 2012-05-22 13:17:58

Hi,

I've figured out that the FBV shortboard mkii only reads the user banks, fine.

Now I want to save some of the predefined artist / song settings to the user banks.

I've updated all software with monkey.

I've opend spider edit and saved my user banks in a new file as a back up.

What are the steps for copying the artist / songs settings to the user banks. If I switch on the amp spider edit says to switch back to user and is unresponsive until switched back.

Thanks in advance!

Which amp do  you have?  You don't use Spider Edit to save presets from the amp's artist/song presets to the user banks.  Call up the preset you want, adjust it as you want, then save it to the user bank using the amp controls.

For a 75, you press and hold 1 of the 4 channel buttons, which switches it into save mode, then use the dial selector to change the preset name (if you want to) and select the user bank #.  Then, finally, press the channel button that you want to save the patch into for that selected bank.

Thanks!

I was under the impression I could also export the artist / song settings from the amp to my computer

I have a spider iv 75. (updated the title for future reference if people have the same question)

Someone will surely correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the only way you can 'export' those patches is by first saving them into the user bank channels.

I just searched for the same thing... Again Line 6 do all the hard bits right and mess up the easy bits.. The pedal is great, and the software is excellent, but you cant access the artist patches and song patches...??

There is another way of adding the patches to your user bank though. You could copy the files down from the custom tone site and then upload them to the banks that way.

Michael,

Dont' know if you figured out how to get different presets onto your amp to use with your

footboard yet.

I can tell you how to get the 'songs and artists' presets into the A,B,C,D banks for your footboard

if that's what you're interested in.

As far as 'importing' sounds and saving sounds, you do that through the Spider IV Edit softward.

It reads your amp and will allow you to upload new sounds and also save the presets you have

in case you somehow lose data.

I'm a noob too, but I"ve gone through a bit of a learning curve to figure some of this out.
