Looking for handheld mic to replace discontinued Line6 THH-12
by albalak on 2012-09-17 00:02:04

I own the headset version of the XD-V70.  My version is XD-V70HS, and it comes with the same receiver that comes with the hand held mic version.

I was looking to add a hand held microphone to sometimes replace the headset, but discovered that the Line6 THH-12 microphone has been discontinued.

Does LIne6 produce a mic that is compatible with the receiver that came with the XD-V70HS?   Would my receiver work, for example, with the XD-V75 hand held mic?

Thanks for your help.

Aaah, ...um, ...er...

No. ...It hasn't.

There must've been a misunderstanding somewhere, as the XD-V75 wireless handmic is the THH12, which you can buy direct from Line 6's online store, here:

or from any Line 6 stockist.

(If you haven't yet upgraded the firmware in your XD-V70 receiver, however, it will only be able to accept a latest generation THH12 handheld via its RF1 mode, ...but it will work really well indeed.)

Ron,

The TH112 is the mic for the XD-V70, not the XD-V75.  It has been discontinued.

Not true, my friend!

As it happens, I purchased all of my Line 6 gear from Sweetwater, (click on my pink avatar at left for details of my location rig) but there's a bit of a misunderstanding in that they now refer to what's essentially the same mic (albeit with later firmware and more mic models) as a "V75 handheld".

Under its battery cover, it's still badged as a "THH12".

When you look at my profile you'll see that my most recent Line 6 acquisition from them was a single XD-V75 (with exactly that handheld) that not only gives me an extra "stand alone" handheld kit, (housed in a Gator GM-1WEVA) but also effectively renders my original eight XD-V70's "future-proof" via USB upgrades with Line 6 Monkey.

The main thing is that they really are ALL interchangeable and (to my mind) offer unparallelled flexibility and audio quality, ...at one fifth the price of anything of comparable ruggedness.

You may also find this discussion thread handy, once you take delivery of your new THH12:

Thanks for the help, Ron.

I don't care what they call it, as long as it's good quality and works with the XD-V70 receiver ;-)

I also have the Line6 G50 wireless guitar system, and it works great.  Digital is certainly the way to go wireless!

Cheers!

Ramon

It is and it does, Ramon...

It's now known as a "V75-HHTX" and maybe later production runs reflect this on the "compliance" labeling inside the unit, but (as you say) we don't care what they're called, so long as we get the right result !

All the very best to you and yours, mate.
