Midi mobilizer, Touchosc and 2.0 Firmware
by kguitars on 2012-11-02 07:20:04

I spent almost all night trying to upgrade the DT25 firmware las night.  Ok, I have anothe problem.

DT25-->Midi Mobilizer-->Ipad2(Touchosc), It seems that the touchosc is connected and the control map is up on the screen.

I can not push any of the virtual buttons.  I don't know what is going on, hopefully I won't have to go through the trouble again.

Thank you,

did you get the DT25 templates? (you say control map, but not sure that's the same thing.

the templates are down the page here:

http://line6.com/dtv2update/

youhave to use itunes to import the templates into touchosc.

Thanks again, yes I did that.  I checked the ins and outs of the cables, etc....It simply doesn't respond.

just ideas as i'm not in front and dont have specifics...

but did you tell touchosc you had the mobilizer?

also my dock connecter wasn't a tight fit... so be sure to make sure thats pushed all the way in.

Thanks, yes it is the mobilizer from Line 6.  The dock connector on the mobilizer is a bit longer than the Apple one.  I pushed it as far it as possible.  The touch app tells me that it is connected.

I'm having the same problem and, to me, it looks like the mobilizer II is not compatible with iOS6.  Can someone confirm this?

Neither my iphone or my iPad (both on iOS 6) recognize the mobilizer.  The ipad actually gave me an OS error saying that the device that was plugged in was not compatible with the iPad.   Neither TouchOSC or the Line6 recorder app would recognize it.

I installed everything on my wife's iPhone (running iOS5) and it worked immediately.

I can't seem to find anything in the forums or support docs that says whether or not iOS6 is supported, but in all my tests that was the only variable.

you know... iOS6 has came out since i last used it, so it sounds possible...i'll dig in a little later and see if that makes a difference on this end.

Dear Rick,

Thank you for the info. I have just bought it today.  At least it doesn't seem to be a bad unit.

I am haveing a problem with the templates if that is what you are calling them. I downloaded them from line 6 but when I try to sync them to my iphone they dont show as dt25.touchocs, I open the zip file and the file is named index and it is an xml document, what is that. Help please

I'm thinking you may have downloaded the wrong file.  It should not have been a zip file.  It's a single file called (in my case)  DT50_iPad.touchosc    That's all, no zip.

If you'd like, just let me know whether you want ipad or iphone and DT50 or DT25 and I'd be happy to email you the correct file.

I found the problem, windows thought it was a zip file. I had to right click save as and save as a .touchosc file then it worked.

thanks

OK.  Mystery solved.  Why do they make it so hard (and cryptic)?  When you download the files, they come over as ZIP files.  The ZIP files can even be opened and contain one file, "index.xml"  Therin lies the confusion.

Do not open or extract the zip file, simply rename the zip extension to "touchosc"  For example rename DT25_iPad.zip to DT25_iPad.touchosc.  Once you transfer that file to your device it should work fine.

For Mac, it is not an issue, is it?  I downloaded the file with no problem.

Hey!!!! Yer a genius!! That worked! I was losing my mind here! Now to see if I can get the  TouchOSC midi bridge to work, I won't need the midi mobilizer right away!

Hi folks . . .

Looking in the TouchOsc Editor, I believe I've found an error in the TouchOsc template for DT25 for iPad. The MIDI CC for "Preamp + Default Power Amp & Cab" for Channel A should be 12, but the template has it at 11. Could some else verify?

Regards,

BigChas

Looks like the DT50 template for iPad is also incorrect.  Same Channel A problem.  The iPhone apps appear to be OK.

Any new information about IOS6 issue?

Hi, has the midi bridge worked for you?  No luck here, same issue with the mobilizer.  Thank you,

I just re-tryed it on my ipad3 (wifi/64gb) with iOS6 and it was working like a champ.

fully updated including the latest touchosc.

in the touchosc setting though, it didn't matter whether "midi mobilizer" was enabled or not... it always reported "not connected"

but worked anyway....

must remember to be careful though... nearly blasted my head off switching from an AC30 amp to the SLO overdrive channel... big difference in those.

Thanks, it is probably a bad unit.  I will go get another mobilizer since it is not that expensive.  I downloaded the file from my imac so the zip file issue is not with my case.  I see the midi in on the unit flashes red so it is indeed receiving something but nothing chages in the touchsc.  The arrow away from the line 6 logo shows nothing active.

never paid much mind to the lights... but touchosc never looks like anything is really happening... but the sound of course is where i can tell.... i suppose i do see the lights a little... but they don't stream midi to the amp etc...

When I turn the knobs on the DT25, i also see the little indicator bar at the top right hand corner of the touchsc flashes red.  It is definitely communicating one another but nothing happenes.  I think I gave up on this particular unit for now.  It shouldn't be this difficult.  Thank you,

Thanks, I actually got a new midi mobilizer but it only worked twice.  At least it worked!  However I gave up on the touchosc for now, I am just so tired of it.  At least, I got the amp set the way I wanted to.

Re: Midi mobilizer, Touchosc and 2.0 Firmware
by greghall on 2012-11-07 07:27:05

I understand from the "MIDI Implementation Guide" that you can configure a DT amp using an HD500 or HD Pro, i.e.

"Got a POD HD500 or POD HD Pro? These devices are capable of functioning as MIDI controllers, where you can configure the specific

MIDI CC messages to be sent from its footswitches & pedals."

So all I have to do is set up an HD patch with the foot controllers configured to send the CC messages for the amp settings I want, and then press the foot controllers, right? And the DT will remember those settings, for the topology configuration on any other HD patch I use?

Has anyone tried this yet? Does it work?

(I don't have a MIDI cable to try it myself, yet)

Sounds possible, Have not tried that myself.

I think the Cab options on Ch B for DT50 might be wrong too.

I haven't checked yet, but they don't appear to change. I'll have a look at the file when I get a chance tonight.
