Jazzmaster model?
by pcep on 2012-12-18 13:10:12

Hi,

Has anybody experimented with creating a convincing Jazzmaster model in Workbench? I would imagine that it would be relatively straightforward, but just thought I'd check here first.

It's funny you should ask this. I was playing my AVRI Jazzmaster last night, and I did some A/B comparisons between it and the Chime model on the Variax. I know the Chime is modeled after the Rickenbacker, and on the surface it's pretty different from the Jazzmaster. However, they're guitars from around the same era, and they both tend to be somewhat "janglier" guitars. Using the stock Chime model (not the 12 string of course), I thought that the sounds produced by my Jazzmaster and the Ric were pretty darn close. I bet if you used those pickups on a different style body, you may get even closer.

That's great information, phil_m. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
