Still No Mesa Models
by roddyf on 2013-01-02 15:03:00

After repeated requests for a descent MiiC+ model, Still nothing. Infact no Mesa models apart from the rectifier which sounds like crap. Some of the most iconic sounds used by some of the most famous guitarists in history came from mesa amps. The Mki, Mkiic and the lonestar in particuar. Instead you get useless models like "divided by 13"  and other useless crap.

Very dissapointing

I like the Divided by 13 model...

Check out meambobbo's patch list. He has created some absolutely amazing Petrucci Mesa patches.

where do we find that?

I think you guys are missing the point.

IMHO The Hd's are incomplete by excluding these models

I think the HD has been out for around 3 years now....so if you're waiting on this... or can't find a useable tone by now... then you probably bought the wrong device for your needs.

there's probably hundreds of posts that say we need model x for instance.... and if it aint there it aint there...

personally i'd rather see a JC120 model by a mile....

but i certainly don't let that stop me from finding something i can use and am happy with.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Seriously, though, the only thing you can do is submit a feature request for new amp models.

Well, IMHO, the HDs are over-engineered by including any of the hi-gain or metal models. I never use them. I would rather have more support for acoustic guitars and vocals. But - you have your opinion and I have mine. Doesn't make either of us 'right' (or wrong). It is what it is.

Make your feature request as suggested, and leave it at that.

... and for another opinion.....

I think Marshalls and Fenders have been used a lot more for doing "the most iconic sounds"...

I'm thrilled to have something that sounds this good for under $500.

Well given that Marshalls are derived from the Fender Bassman and Mesa Boogies from the Fender Princeton, it sounds like a Fender Princeton should be next !

We should create a category for iconic amps. That's what the world needs now!

LOL

You have to wonder.. if these omissions truly made the HD incomplete, would the 'guys' really be missing your point.

How about a categoty for ironic amps? Like playing Stevie Ray Vaughn on a Triple Rec or something...

Re: Still No Mesa Models

Ironic amps go to eleven

lol.  they included mesa's flagship amp model.  i prefer the tone of a mark iv, or a mark ii, but c'mon.  don't be so flamboyant.  as posted above, try my petrucci patches.  with some pre-EQ'ing and DEP tweaking on the Uber, it sounds quite similar to the Mark series.

It is so strange to hear a complaint abut the dual-rec model, especially an opinion that it 'sounds like crap'. Last year, my brother and I got seven guitarists together (my brother and I included) and compared the dual-rec models of the Pod HD 500 and the Axe-FX.

NOTE: Allow me to insert here that I believe that these are both fine units, each with their strengths and weaknesses (and one of them seriously over-priced :). This is not to compare the two and has nothing to do with which is better, etc. This is strictly about their respective dual-rec models.

The end result was that all seven guitarists, including the owner of the Axe-FX, agreed that the dual-rec model in the Pod unit was the superior of the two. One of the guitarists present is an owner of a dual-rec, and reported that the model was the most realistic amp model he'd ever heard. So again, the comment surprises me.

meambobbo: THANK YOU! I believe that I am only one of many that greatly appreciates the many fine presets, as well as the valuable information that you have shared with the community. Rock on, bro.

This is marked as a question. I will try for the correct answer. I'm fairly presuming the question to be: Why line 6 didn't include some amps? Mark II C has to be one of my most favorite models so I submitted a request like many.

Here's my guess: Line 6 didn't include many amps because at some point they will be selling models packs that include the missing amps.

If any one doubts this, all you have to do is look at the amp model Packs still being sold almost ten years after release. Five-ten years from now they probaly will update the Pocket POD (over 12 years old modeling) to the POCKET POD HD. You gotta love how they milk or squeeze every ounce of a product when they can. My only complaint is I want model packs now (that include a Mark ii C)

The information above may not be current, and you should direct questions to the current forum or review the manual.
