L6 Link capabilities concernig FX Loop, Controlknobs and Preamps
by shmelman on 2013-01-11 07:38:59

Hi!

I have 3 questions concernig the interaction between HD500 and DT Amps.

1. If i connect the Hd500 via L6 Link to the DT does the HD500 automatically take over the preamp section of the amp or can i use the internal preamps of the DT?

2. If question number one is answered with YES... Can i then remote control the settings of the amp like bass, treble, gain and so on via the front panel knobs of the HD500?

3. If i put an analog pedal in the FX Loop of the HD500 is the pedal signal then also in the FX Loop of the DT?

THX!!

1) With an internal preamp active the HD500 takes over Channel A of the DT and provides the Pre-Amp

2) With an HD preamp active you can control the tonal settings by either the HD500 knobs itself or also on the amp. They work in tandem.

3) If you disable the PreAmp model in the HD500 the DT automatically switches to Channel B and you get the internal DT preamp there. The Efx that have been placed in the chain of the HD500 are still available so in this case (preamp de-actived), you have an efx pedalbord with the DT's preamp.

4) With regards to the efx loop question ..... not sure. Someone else will answer no doubt.

Response to 3 part 2: No, it is separate. You have two loops in that case. The one on the DT is always post amp model and is always on just pre the power section of the amp.
