How to setup windows7 microphone with UX1
by MrBufferNG on 2013-01-21 03:48:13

Hi,

I have problem with setting up microphone in windows7.

UX1 is my main and only sound card. I have microphone from headset phones connected to MIC input on UX1.

On UX1 settings, I have selected Send 1 and 2 for instrument, send 3 and 4 for MIC.

In windows settings there is no Microphone input at all.

My question is: Is it possible to setup UX1 to report microphone input to windows7.

I would like to use headset microphone for windows applications like Skype, voice recognition etc.

Thanks!

Neven

What type of connection does the headset have?

It's standard 3.5 mm jack connected to UX1 via 3.5mm female  to XLR mail converter.

I don't think you can see from the Windows control panel which sends are which, but I can double check later this evening.

Does your headset have only one 3.5mm jack for the mic and headphones or is there a separate jack for the headphone?

There is separate 3.5 mm jack for earphones connected to UX1 phones out also via converter.

Speakers are connected to UX1 line out.

Phones and speakers are working fine with windows generally , PODFarm, DAWs, etc.
