Line 6 XD V55L works with DPA 4061 (via DAD 6010) ??
by benoitalbert on 2013-02-18 00:35:39

Hi everyone, I'm new on this forum.

I have a question, I was planning to buy a XD V70L for plugin in my DPA 4061 view that the XD V70L is the only Line 6 wireless system listed for the DAD 6010 adapter on DAP site. But I found out that XD V70L is now very difficult to found here in Europe.

I was wondering if the XD V55L is compatible with the DPA 4061 via the adaptor DAD6010 ?? (even if it is not listed on DPA site)

Thanks.

Ben.

G'day from Australia, Ben...

The "latest model" that replaces the XD-V70L is the XD-V75L, so all stores will have sold out of the older model by now and only list this one:

If you can afford the extra cost, I feel that you may find that the various "instrument filter" models of the V75 will give you more flexibility for a variety of instruments than the V55.

Among other extra features, the V75 also allows "daisy chaining" up to three more receivers from one pair of antennae, a capability for which the V55 would require you to buy an extra antenna distribution module.

DPA's DAD6010 adapter will allow their magnificent-sounding lower-sensitivity DPA4061 omni lavalier to work with both V75 and V55 models.

Should the extra features of the V75 not be important to you, then you can save some money by operating it via the V55L:

Hi Ron,

Thanks a lot for your answer. So it means that the transmitter for V55, V75, V50 and V70 share the same specificities in term of phantom power and impedance for the DPA 4061 ?

Benoît.

Yes (except it is "bias voltage" and not "phantom power")

As per Don Boomer's reply, Benoît...

They're effectively "the same" transmitter, in terms of "hardware".

It now occurs to me that I should also have mentioned the lack of Line 6 "Monkey" USB upgradeability in the (approximately one third) cheaper V55.

That "future-proofing" option (along with the enhanced RF diagnostics and all the other upgraded features) is pretty much the main reason I invested in an "extra" XD-V75 "kit" as an addition to the two racks of four XD-V70s that I routinely operate.

I feel it has proven to be a very wise investment indeed.

(Click on my pink avatar for details of my location rig.)

I am neither affilliated with (nor do I have any particular loyalty to) Line 6, or any other manufacturer or supplier.

HI Benoit,

I have asked DPA to update their website. Hopefully this can happen in the near future.

Steve
