New to the game! Require assistance!

I just bought the Line 6 UX2 yesterday evening (Friday) and set it up. I've been having a numerous amount of problems with it. Such as, failed installations, it frequently just shuts off, and my biggest concern is when I do have it installed correctly, and have both my Mac Book Pro authorized, and my POD authorized, I start up POD Farm and I am getting input, but no output sound whatsoever!
Keep in mind, I am using my Mac's internal speakers, and no actual Headphones or monitors that connect to the POD alone.
I am wondering if that is my problem, because I am getting an input signal (DB gauges are monitoring the DB, and the Interface on the computer is as well)
My goal was to install the UX2, open the software, choose my amp, and presets, plug in and play. But again, no sound coming out.
It was adverised to be a simple "Install, plug and play" but I'm having trouble getting this to work.
Help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, that is most likely the problem. Connect your headphones/monitors to the UX2 outputs. It becomes your computer's soundcard when connected.
