How many different kinds of effects are included in M13 Stompbox Modeler?
More than you will ever be able to use on any one gig. The best of the best of modern and vintage delays, tremolos, phasers, flangers and rotary drums; choruses, ring modulators, classic overdrives to modern metal distortions and fuzz and beyond; a killer ocataver (perfect for bass), filters galore from envelope followers, filter wahs, voice box and crazy synth sounds. And if that’s not enough, there’s even a plethora of great reverbs with studio-grade algorithms to mimic rooms to caves and beyond.

Does M13 Stompbox Modeler include guitar amp or cab modeling?
Nope. Just stompboxes.

Does each model really have dedicated controls?
Absolutely. Everything is W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G. (or, what you see is what you get), just like turning a knob on your favorite stompbox.

Can I use my other pedals with M13 Stompbox Modeler?
Of course. M13 Stompbox Modeler features True Bypass and a stereo effects loop so you can put your other pedals anywhere in front, behind or in the middle of your stompbox modeler.

What's True Bypass and why should I care?
True Bypass means that when all the effects are off, your signal bypasses the pedal's internal electronics and goes from the inputs directly to the outputs via a relay bypass circuit.

Is M13 Stompbox Modeler big and heavy?
No. It'll fit on your pedal board. Are you familiar with DL4™, our green four-button delay pedal? M13 is about the size of two of them. It's about 10 lbs and strong enough to take a beating.

Will the looper still work while I'm changing sounds and scenes?
Absolutely. Once you have captured your looped creation, leave it repeating and go back to using any of the effects. (You can also control the looper behind the scenes via a MIDI controller.)

Where's the tuner?
It’s got a dedicated footswitch and, when activated, the tuner shows up in the LCD.

When the tuner is activated, does it mute the stompbox sounds?
Yes. By default, once the tuner is activated the all signals are muted. (But you can choose to have your dry signal pass through.)

Can I direct record with my M13 Stompbox Modeler?
Probably not. It would be just like plugging a stompbox straight into your recording rig. (But we've heard of artists who plug their M13 into a Pocket POD® and use its amp simulation for direct recording.)

Can I use M13 Stompbox Modeler with instruments other than guitar?
Definitely. It'll sound amazing with bass (try the killer octave effect called Bass Octaver, filed under Distortions) and keyboards, too. Keyboard players will appreciate the stereo inputs and outputs.

What is a "scene"?
A scene is a pedal board arrangement on your M13 Stompbox Modeler. You can create and save up to 48 different scenes. Create one for your metal band, one for your punk band, one for your Top 40 gig…you get the picture. No more tearing up Velcro® just to change one or two pedals.

Can I backup my scenes to my computer?
Yes! Use the MIDI in/out.

What do the colored lights on each footswitch mean?
Each color references a specific type of effect: green is for Delays, blue is for Modulations, purple is for Filters, yellow is for Distortions and orange is for Reverbs. The colors are based on individual Line 6 stompbox modelers.

Can I use Expressional pedals with my M13 Stompbox Modeler?
Yup. Expression pedals allow you to change stompbox controls using your feet so you can adjust the sound while you play. On the fly, you can modify the length of your delay time, dial up the reverb mix or change the depth of your tremolo.

Check out the Line 6 EX-1™ Expression Pedal.

Does M13 Stompbox Modeler include models from the DL4?
Yes, it includes all of the delay models from DL4 plus a killer delay called Echo Platter from Echo Pro™. It also includes all the models from DM4™, FM4™, MM4™ and Verbzilla®. The full list of models can be found here.

How does the looper compare with that of the DL4?
Much like the DL4, it's a straight-forward sound-on-sound looper (where you can build up sounds by overdubbing them one at time) but we have made a few upgrades: you can loop up to 28 seconds, you get one layer of undo/redo and you can use all of your effects while using the looper.

How does M13 Stompbox Modeler compare to POD® X3 Live?
They are different animals designed for entirely different uses. M13 Stompbox Modeler is built for players who want a massive collection of premium stompbox sounds to play with in front of their amp. There are no amp models.

How is M13 Stompbox Modeler different from other multi-effects products?
M13 Stompbox Modeler is constructed like a stompbox pedal board. Simple to use, a knob for every control and no deep menus to program or edit, in other words, no presets—what you see is what you get.
