I use an Ampero controller to switch presets on both my amp and HX One via MIDI with a series of messages. My problem is that the ability to use the flux (both via the onboard switch and MIDI) disables when I press a button that calls the same preset that is already loaded. This also locks the preset from having parameters edited through the knobs. If I want to use flux or edit the preset, I have to pick another and then go back again.

I tried finding an explanation in the manual and I doubt this behavior is intentional from L6.

There are some less pretty ways that I can get around this, like making multiple presets of the same effect or to make a dummy preset that is called between calling the same preset again, but these all ruin the flux by changing the settings instantly.

	My wishes/suggestions:

That the HX One will ignore the PC command if the currently loaded preset is called again and nothing is changed.

If something has changed: Reload the preset.

The ability to actively change the flux setting to high or low instead of just toggling.

	Another question:

How long does it take to load a preset? I tried making a series of commands to my amp and the HX One where the preset will be loaded and flux being toggled immediately afterwards. I didn't get it to work when doing it as a series of commands, but I could select the preset and then toggle flux.

Hi all. Wondering if anyone can help on this diagnosis. Sorry for the long post but it’s a full description to avoid wasting people’s time.

i have a GigRig G3s controlling 3 midi pedals: channel 1 is an H9, channel 2 is a Jackson audio golden boy, and channel 3 is my new HX one. They are daisy chained G3>HX1>H9>Gb purely due to cables and pedal board layout.

i have changed the global settings of the HX1 to be channel 3 and midi thru obvs.

All midi commands (pc and cc) work as intended to the H9 and GB meaning the cabling works, and the HX1 is sending midi commands onwards via midi thru.

I have set a patch up to toggle the HX1 on/off using a cc command on channel 3 which also works fine.

Here is the thing- I can’t figure out why the pc commands don’t work on the HX1 because they do on the other pedals. This is where I am at.

I have hx user presets saved at 000 and 001 in the HX1 and when I load the G3 preset (call it number 1) which contains the midi pc command 00, it fails to load 000. In fact, nothing happens on the HX1 but the other pedals respond. (The G3 can send up to 20 midi messages per G3 preset so effectively you just program in as many as you need). On the adjacent G3 preset (call that G3 number 2), I check and the toggle on off works. I go back to the G3 preset number 1, again, th epic message does work. Next I go into the midi menu in G3 preset 1 and I change the pc from 000 to 001. And then when I exit the menu, it executes the pc message and the HXone switches to 001. I then play about a bit more (change the HX one sound and go to totally different G3 preset) and when I go back to G3 preset 1 which now contains HX1 preset 001, it is unresponsive. I then repeat the exercise, amend the midi message back to pc 00 and on exit from the midi menu, it triggers the HX One again which accepts the pc change back to preset 000

So it appears I have narrowed it down to either:

	1. Fault on the G3 which appears to be sending the midi message on exit of the menu only but I rule that out as the other pedals work as intended with pc messages

	2. Fault on the HX one which fails to recognise the pc change

	3. User error and set up issue

the HX one is brand new and updated to 3.81

	Belp very much appreciated!

Please, please add a mode that will show the Preset Name instead of name of the effect.

I am using two external buttons to scroll up and down through the presets.

For the sake of argument, let's imagine I am only using one effect type, PolyPitch.

I can have several presets with various settings saved, but for all of them the display will simply show "PolyPitch" and not my custom Preset Name.

All the different sounds are indistingushable when labeled that way and the only way to navigate is to try them by ear.

This is catastrophic and renders the unit useless for me...

(I realize, that the list view is the intended way to do it, but with external footswitches it practically doubles the amount of clicks needed to operate the unit).

It gets worse! To see the Preset Name at all I have to enter the list view by pressing both footswitches.

Both footswitches are also needed to access the tuner. It is very easy for one footswitch to slip while holding both of them in order to access the tuner - the pedal will then either enter the list mode or activate a preset.

I also wish there was a way to cue the presets with external footswitches from the single effect view.

External footswitches would scrool through presets and the built-in ON footswitch would activate it.

Those behaviours are native to other Helix products and as a seasoned HX Stomp user I can't wrap my head around this not being implemented in HX ONE, especially because of the small form factor.

	Best,

	Janko

I have a CIOKS DC5 and was thinking of pairing the 300+100ma outputs to feed the HX One with 400ma.

According the FAQs that should work but I feel like it's on the edge.. Any gotchas like pitch shifting actually requires more than 400ma?

	Hi everyone,

I have a Vox AC15 without an effects loop, so my entire pedal chain goes straight into the amp’s input. Ever since I added the Line 6 HX One, my guitar volume has dropped dramatically—even when no effect is selected and it’s bypassed.

I’ve tried tweaking input/output levels and impedance settings, but nothing helps; the signal stays way too quiet compared to before. Any ideas on what to check or fix? Thanks!

	Hi All

I just got a HX-one and am using it in 4-cable method. I've noticed that when using it in this configuration, the tuner mute seems to only mute the final output of the HX (i.e. the signal is still output to the "loop" even when in tuner mute mode, despite the manual stating that when tuner audio setting is selected to "mute" that "all output is muted").

Is there a way around this? And/or could the next firmware update include a fix or option here so that all output (final output and the loop) is muted when tuner mute is active?

For context - I'm using it in an FX chain with multiple DI/signal takeoff points within the chain, and would appreciate if hte tuner muted everything (at the moment, if I have a DI in the loop then this signal won't be muted when I step on the tuner).

	Thanks :)

I recently purchased the HX One and have updated to firmware 3.83. On the last page of the settings menus is Display Name. I would like to set that to "Preset", but there is no option to do that. Only options I see are "Auto" and "Model". But in the update notes for 3.80, it specifically said that one of the objectives of the update was to add a "Preset" option to the Display Name setting. Is anyone seeing a "Preset" option for Display Name?

HX One Firmware 3.81 and is set up in insert (4CM) configuration.

I have observed the following behaviour for some time and only just now been able to replicate the issue consistently.

Scenario 1: When moving from a PolyWham effect preset with the status ‘off’ to Feedbacker effect preset status ‘on’ or ‘off’ results in feedbacker effect not triggering. Toggling the HX One On/Off device footswitch while on the feedbacker preset in this scenario does not correct the feedbacker issue.

Scenario 2: When moving from PolyWham effect preset status ‘on’ to Feedbacker effect status ‘on’ or ‘off’ results in results in feedbacker effect working as expected. Toggling the HX One On/Off device footswitch while on the feedbacker preset in this scenario also works as expected.

This issue is occurring whether presets are navigated view Prev/Next midi command or by the in-built footswitch preset navigation.

The same observations occur when moving from the PolyCapo effect to Feedbacker so it may be related to moving from pitcher shifting effects?

This issue does not appear to occur if moving from another effect such as Dynamic Plate, Tube Comp 3 Note Generator to the Feedbacker effect.

It also appears that if scrolling past another effect between PolyWham and Feedbacker resolves this issue e.g. if a had 3 presets in the sequential order PolyWham > Dynamic Plate > Feedbacker the issue is not observed when scrolling past between PolyWham to Feedbacker using the preset scroll function.

It seems like the pitch shifting (PolyWham/PolyCapo) effect preset status is being passed on the feedbacker effect when navigating directly between the two irrespective of the saved Feedbacker preset status.

Has anyone else had the same experience or can replicate this behaviour?

Hi, when I run a mono signal into the HX One, I can only get mono effects out. I'd like to have the HX1 be the pedal that makes my signal stereo, but I don't get any output on the right channel, even with obviously stereo effects like Ping Pong Delay. Is this by design, or is my unit faulty? I've used the HX Effects for years and a mono input can become a stereo output (obviously), so this doesn't make sense...

I got my HX One yesterday and went to try it out last night. I have it set up in pre/post on my pedalboard. It all works as it should, but when I have the HX One in my signal chain it is adding terrible noise to some of my drive pedals - so much so that they are unusable. Using the noise gate on the HX One makes no difference and I am not sure how to remedy it. I took the HX One out of the chain again to check that it wasn't anything else causing interference and everything is fine. I would love to remedy this as I really like the HX One otherwise. If I can't fix the issue then I will have to return the HX One. Does anyone have any ideas as to help? Thanks

Pushing and turning the Effect knob allows me to go to the category and effect I want but the original preset keeps returning to the display. Pushing the Effect knob to select just results in the preset returning.

Last night I was checking out the Stereo capabilities of the HX One and ran into an issue. I was on some Reverb effect, I can't remember which one, and Held down the Effect knob to select a Delay. It switched over to the delay, and it no longer output any sound out of the pedal. In addition the top 3 rotary knobs stopped working. I could select other effects, saved patches, access the tuner (and tune) but still no Sound out. I had to cycle power to resolve the issue.

The locked up rotary knobs are similar to the same-effect-loading-midi-issue described in the other thread.

I have no hopes on anybody from Line 6 to actually fix this issue based on previous lack of response on issues related to HX One, but I wanted to describe the issue to the community. I gather support of HX One is even less now that they released a bunch of new flagship products. It's a great pedal with a good interface when it works.

I currently have a Stomp XL, some pedals (Comp and Dirt), and I’ve been thinking of downsizing to the Pod Express. The lack of an FX loop on the Express is a little disappointing, but I’m having this thought that I can throw the Pod Express into the FX loop of the HX One for a similar outcome. I want to be able to have the HX One as the first pedal in the chain, for use of things like the Poly Capo. I also want to be able to use Glitz or Heliosphere after the Pod Express (pretty much be able to put the HX One first in the chain and last in the chain).

How feasible is this cabling, and is it even possible?

Using the Post position, I get to use the HX One as the first effect in the chain. In Pre, I get to have the HX One running last (reverb, etc.). Am I understanding this right?

Hello. I just got an HX One. I wanted to use it for instant and momentary Whammy fx using the Flux Footswitch. It appears that there is no way to change it from latching to momentary? That’s unfortunate as it really slows down the use of the Whammy effect. Has there been any talk of adding this feature in the future? Basically it needs to shift up when pressed and return to heel pitch when released without latching. I really hope they add this feature as this pedal would then crush any of the EHX or Digitech offerings.

I tried to save that within the preset, but it doesn't work. Do I miss something in the general settings or is it really not possible?

So here is my situation. I have my switcher Musicomlab EFX LE controlling tempo to my Strymon DIG V1 through analog taps and the HX One. The EFX LE can only have 1 analog tap out but alo sends MIDI Time Clock through it's MIDI port which the HX ONE will get.

The thing with the EFX LE is the amount of taps out of the analog tap out and MTC is linked together with the options of 1 bar, 2 bars, Continuously (Persistent). I have to set it 1 or 2 bars as persistent is making the DIG crazy. The problem with that is the HX one tap blinks blue and with the correct BPM for 1 bar or 2 bars (4 taps or 8 taps) but then revert back to red blinks and reset to preset BPM. Is there a way for the HX one to keep the 4 or 8 taps it's getting and not revert back to preset/global BPM? It's seems that it only takes MTC when it's getting continuous MTC.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm having a lot of trouble getting the stereo connections to work correctly when hooking the HX One up into the FX loop of the HX Stomp. To me it seems like software/routing issues that are at a deeper level than anything we have control over in the settings, but maybe I'm missing something that someone else can spot!

	Current connections:

-TRS going out of the Send of the Stomp.

-The split ends are then going (ring) into L/mono of the HX One, and the other (tip) is going into the R/return of the HX One.

-I'm taking one regular cable from each output of the HX One, back into the HX Stomp return/aux ins (L out to L return, R out to R return, etc.)

Relevant settings on the HX One (I've had to use these to even get close, changing any of these makes the rest of the things worse):

	-I/O Config - Insert

	-Insert Position - Pre

	-Bypass Type - DSP

	-Tuner Audio - Mute

There are a variety of issues I'm having but I'll try to outline a specific one here, and perhaps it might lead to other answers.

-I call up something like the Poly Capo on the HX One (a pitch shifting effect like this makes it easier to hear the problems described below...)

-I then go back to the Stomp and:

--(1) I use a Stereo FX L/R block at the start of the chain, but when I engage the HX One, I ALWAYS get an equal amount of dry signal, in addition to the shifted signal from the Poly Capo. **BUT, when I engage the tuner on the HX One, it registers a signal for tuning...while constantly sending the dry tone (non-shifted) through as well (even with every setting everywhere telling the tuner to mute...)

--(2) same hookup as above. This time I use a Mono FX Loop L block on the Stomp. This will kill the dry signal I was getting from the previous attempt, so the Poly Capo then is behaving like it should...BUT when I engage the tuner on the HX One, it doesn't register any signal at all!

--(3) same hookup as above. This time I use a Mono FX Loop R block on the Stomp. Now, it completely ignores the Poly Capo (on or off, it doesn't affect the tone) BUT it does register the signal for the tuner AND keeps it going so you can hear it when the tuner is engaged.

So, in this configuration, I can never have the Poly Capo effect work the way it's supposed to, while also having the tuner work (again, point (2) makes the effect work properly, but nothing ever makes the tuner work correctly...)

Then, I tried reversing the inputs (tip/ring) going into the HX One. (This mostly made things worse)

--This time using FX Loop L, kills all signal completely whenever that block is on in the Stomp...but does register when the tuner is engaged (but still no signal coming through).

--Then, trying the FX Loop R, has no signal like above but this time the tuner doesn't register anything either...so this is the farthest away from working of all the attempts.

-If I turn OFF that block in the Stomp, effectively bypassing the FX Loop completely, I get signal coming back through the rest of the chain.

So, in summary, it does seem like the (ring) needs to go to the L/Mono input of the HX One, with the (tip) in the R/return, but as you can see from above, there's still something that isn't quite working. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!!!

	Hi,

I've been using Alexander Pedals (rewind and space force) that also have the possibility of transitioning between different settings of the same preset, which on the One is called flux.

But I can choose between momentary or latch on the Alexander pedals.

Is there a possibilty of setting it up that way on the One also? (I'm not talking about setting the flux time to zero, but actual momentary setting).

Also, it would be nice to have some longer flux transitioning times, for example 30 seconds, for ambient stuff that would be perfect.

I have recently received my brand new HX Stomp. Scrolling through the factory presets, there are no prefixes such as BAS, DIR, etc that I believe should be there. I have only “New Preset” followed by a number, e.g 02A, 02B, 02C, etc. I am therefore unable to determine which presets would be suitable for the bass guitar. Does this require me to perform a reset and will doing so rectify the issue?

	Thanks.

I operate my HX One stereo.
However, when I switch to true bypass, a signal only comes out on one side. On DSP bypass it's completely normal on stereo.
What did I set wrong? Or does stereo not work on true bypass? Thanks!

I set up a two-button midi footswitch where the right button goes to Preset List with just one click (CC-5, Value 1), as opposed to hitting the two on-pedal switches -- this works fine, gets me to the preset list. But then I can't get the same midi footswitch to select a preset from the list, by either using CC-5/Value 1 again or Value 0 (Home), this latter surprised me because clicking the Home button on the pedal does select the preset highlighted in preset list. Using the manual, pg. 31, isn't helping me find an answer.

Is there a MIDI CC+Val I'm missing that will select the preset from preset list?

	Thank you!

The much expected firmware 3.80 was released on November 19, but I cannot find it anywhere as of November 26, neither in the DOWNLOAD section nor in the pull-down menu of HX One Librarian software.

	Hello All:

Very much enjoying my HX One, particularly the delay effects. However I'm having a problem with one of the biggest reasons I bought it - pitch and capo effects. Whenever I use any of the polypitch algorithms (but not , the pedal loses about 10-20 db in volume. I've tried tweaking the input impedence, and tried using the pedal in mono vs. stereo, and nothing seems to do it. I also turn the boost up (when available) by 6db and it still doesn't get back to unity/level it is with the pedal turned off or taken out of the chain. I've tried using it in my pedal chain (isolated loop switcher) and on its own with just guitar into pedal and then onto amp, happens with both.

Any ideas what this could be?

	Hi,

I have an HX one and I recently upgraded to the new 3.71 firmware and my pedal started crashing. When I rotate thru the modulation effects and I get to an effect called 122 Rotary, it makes a weird noise and freezes and only a power cycle brings it back. I tried everything including factory reset, but it keeps crashing. It seems that some other effects are also working weird, but I can't really tell. Any ideas what could this be?

	Thanks!
