Could you please help me how to connect my Line6 Pod 500HD with my macbook? There is a warning like this "Could not detect a POD HD500 connected to your computer. POD HD500 Edit will run in offline mode."

I have heard the news about there will not be a new update for these products. Is the product going to the thrash then?

I recently bought both of these products to use in a current project and intended to use one for bass guitar and the other for rhythm guitar however I cannot purchase the HD model packs.

It would be amazing if Line 6 could release a revised 2.62 firmware unlocking the additional Amps and cabs you get from these HD model packs. Since these devices aren’t supported, why not provide a firmware that fully unlocks the device and all the add-ons become freeware.

I’m wondering if anyone has a solution to my problem of not being able to purchase these items. Both devices are updated to the current firmware however with line 6 license manager down, I can’t purchase and install these HD model packs.

Does anyone have an idea what may be causing this? I have been trying to troubleshoot it with no luck. I am relatively certain that it is the physical switch/button soldered to the PCB board, but I can't find a two pin/leg replacement for it.

Right now I have a company that manufactures custom magnetic labels for Midi foot controllers.  I am considering adding labels for the HD500x to my product line.  I am looking to get feedback from users.  What would you look for in a label?  Right now our labels are completely custom made which means you can choose the design for each label as well as the text you want.  To get an idea of what the labels look like here is our website.  www.gigwrx.com

Once we decide to add this product to our site we can have them available within weeks.  The labels we product are extremely durable and heavy duty.  almost 1.5mm thick and completely water/beer proof. 

Im open to thoughts and suggestions regarding this idea.  Your input is valuable and we will implement as many ideas as possible.

I now have it plugged into the front of an Orange Crush 35RT with a noise gate, compressor, OD and an EQ. 

Until I get an XLR cable and route the 4C method

I only play high gain stuff, jamming to YT drum tracks in my living room

I actually like feedback, and a bit of the humming "live sound" from only a moderate amount of filtering

it sounds and feels more "alive" and dynamic

but i'm wondering about tone-suckage and whether an external noise gate/suppressor would work better than the modelers. 

it would also free up a model block on the POD

this is coming from someone who's just learning about noise gates, and proper chain setup in general

Having installed all the software, I understnd that to do a reset, the Line 6 Monkey should be used.

The prolem I am having is that when I open Monkey, it is not detacting my Pod.

The drop down menu is only showing Podxt.

The images show the three stages.

Could someone please help?

Having opened Customtome, I typed Pod HD 500 X in the search box (image 1). This opens with all the tones. I then type HANK MARVIN in the search box (image 2) and just one preset is found, not relating to Hank Marvin.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong.

I would like to keep the effects for the guitar as they are but the same effects are being applied to the microphone.  How can I keep the microphone effects separate or off so I can use the microphone for vocals?

It seems the "Inputs Setup" is the key.  The options are "Preset" and "Global".  But I cannot figure out how those function.

The POD would have to accept two separate signal chains.

My POD HD Pro X Edit version is 2.27.0

Is it even possible to prevent the microphone output from being affected by the guitar effects?

And another thing that suggests it's now been totally phased out is that despite dying, I managed to get my preset bundle (from years of gigging) from the 2.01 successfully on to my laptop and into the PODHD300 EDIT. But when I plugged in my the 1.10, it was not recognised to transfer the patches- at this stage I didn't realise it would not produce any sound. Are the drivers now obsolete too?

Any suggestions on either of these issues gratefully received.

HD500 Edit will occasionally connect to my POD HD500, but is unreliable and while able to upload my presets, etc, I cannot adjust anything via HD500 Edit and see the changes reflected on the POD HD500.

Also wondering of it will work with HD500X Edit?

The unit works fine and I’m sure there are a lot of people who bought both it and a DT amp who would like to be able to have the editing capability.  A means to do edits via a computer would be great.

Where are the new drivers?

Windows 11 and new laptops have memory integrity for a reason. I feel unsecure that there not new driver and firmware updates to correct this issue. I have always liked my Line 6 products, but drivers not being updated for such an extended amount of time leads me to believe you are walking away from your older products like HD500X and UX2. Support for new OS and hardware is critical for Line 6 future success, no way I am buying more Line 6 products until firmware and driver updates support older products. I get that it is hard to keep up for new OS and hardware improvements, but I would think in a 3 to 4 year period you could have found the time to get this critical step completed for your existing user base.

Acabei adquirindo um Pod hd500x porém veio com defeito. 
o pedal de expressão ele funciona ao mexer ele pra cima e pra baixo, porém não consigo acionar ou desligar ele pelo pedal de expressão. Ele funciona tanto no wahwah quanto no volume porém, não consigo trocar do wahwah para o volume ou vice-versa acionando o próprio pedal de expresso. 
Já calibrei, formatei, atualizei, e nada.

Testei o fototransistor Optek OP580 e estão funcionando pois quando uso o efeito a qual já vem direto no banco de felabrica funciona, só não consigo ligar ou desligar. 
Ja limpei, mandei para fazer revisão, trocou o capacitor da placa do pedal e mesmo assim não funciona. 
 

ao abrir o possível pé de acionar o pedal observe que são três placas de ferro que ao pressionar ele tem o contato com a placa e liga e desliga. 
Espero encontrar uma solução…

Some diodes of the input bridge, inductor, and the IC blowed up. I´ve already changed this components, and still waiting for the CA/CC IC conversor.

I have a question for Line6 members, or any people who already noticed or know this, but, If I am not wrong, there is a mismatch on the original PCB of the PSU; and the Power Supply schematic; around the D20.

I´ve noticed (If I am not wrong) that D20, in real life and in the PCB it´s installed backwards as is represented on the schematic.

Like on the datasheet is represented; BAS20 diode, uses pins 1 (anode) and 3 (Cathode):

And on our PCB; the diode goes placed like this:

I think it it´s merely cosmetics, because electrically I think (But I am not sure at all) It will function well oriented on both ways.

And that´s the question.

I'm trying to understand my HD500.

Can I use it as a straight pedal board? One switch, one effect?

Each tone I've seen online show that amps and other thing ae assigned.

So much out there. I'm a little confused on the approach to take.

Any good videos or suggestions are welcome.

So for the POD HD500x, it would be useful if the mixer did not have enough available XLR inputs for you.  If you're go direct into the house mixer with XLR, then there's no benefit to using a DI box.

Am I understanding the situation correctly?

I suspect the EEPROM 24LC256 is corrupted. I will have access to a CH341A programmer and would like to reflash the EEPROM manually.

Does anyone have a working EEPROM dump from a functional POD HD500 or the .iic file used to flash the USB firmware?

I also use the POD as an audio interface in general - my laptop doesn't have an audio output so I connect the laptop to the POD via USB, which then goes into my speakers, but I get the same issue when listening to any audio. I'm not sure if it's the volume pot on the back of the POD as that's always been very sensitive but generally only when adjusting it, not when it's not even being touched.

I can only find one other thread on this issue from a few years ago which was unresolved. Has anybody else had this problem? If it is the volume pot, does anybody know the spec for me to buy a generic spare? Thanks.

I've seen a DT25 head and cab come up for sale at a reasonable price near home. I am contemplating flipping the Vox and getting the DT25 (lower volume and all!).

My question is, does this seem like a bad idea and a waste of money in 2025 - -would I be better instead of pairing a POD500 and DT25 to just sell my POD and Vox and go Helix LT with monitors?

Anyways, I'm trying to reset this thing but nothing I'm reading on the great and mighty Google seems to be having any effect. I'm not sure I want to spend a whole lot of money tying to repair this thing since there's so little support for it these days. Might be the Good Lord telling me it's time to get a Helix...
If anyone has successfully rescued their rig from this loop by any means other than the ones that don't seem to work for me, I'd love to hear about it....

I have not yet tested if I can still connect the HD500 to my Win11 PC, but I worry about what this means for the future. I doubt Line6 will update this rather old driver. Anyone else have any issues with Win11?

FYI, other drivers that cause the same problem are:

• rdwm1027.sys from Roland (maybe my old PCR USB keyboard, which still works in Win11)
• GEARAspiWDM.sys from GEAR Software (appears to be part of DVD recording software, which I don't have - not sure where this came from)
• wdcsam64_Prewin8.sys from Western Digital (not sure where this came from either - lots of videos describe how to remove this).

Dann habe ich versucht, eine Verbindung mit Cubase 14 herzustellen und bin auf die gleichen Probleme gestoßen wie bei Magix Samplitude. Und bei Verwendung des ASIO POD HD500 Treibers kam es auch bei Cubase nur zu Abstürzen.  Mit dem Support von Steinberg konnte das Problem auch nicht behoben werden und ich sollte mich mit diesem Problem an Line6 wenden.

Der Support von Line6 war bei diesem Problem leider auch nicht hilfreich und das Problem konnte nicht behoben werden.

Ich habe in irgendeinem Forum von jemandem gelesen, der seinen POD HD500 als Audio Interface unter WIN10 problemlos nutzen konnte. Also sollte das doch auch mit WIN11 funktionieren. Aber wie?????

Wer kann mir dabei behilflich sein, den POD HD500 als Audio Interface mit dem Laptop (Samplitude Music Studio) einzurichten?

I have HD500x, it’s on firmware version 1.00 I’ve tried to update it via Line 6 central and via the monkey and I’ve tried every version of firmware available and I cannot get it to load. Everytime my POD goes into updating flash and then I get an error on the pc (win 10) that the update has failed. 
 

I also cannot connect via the edit program, it starts to sync the patches and then I get device unreachable error and this frequently causes the POD to restart which causes blue screen of death errors. 
 

I’ve troubleshooted the BSOD errors and worked out so long as windows isn’t using the pod for sound and I don’t remove the usb cable before turning the power off it doesn’t blue screen. 
 

I’m now wondering if it would be better to try an old windows pc either on win7 or even xp? Or maybe even Avalon windows altogether and see if it will work via a mac? Or is the unit just dead and not upgradable? To be honest I just wanted the edit to work so that I can make patches easier as I’m joining a covers band so need to make a bunch of them. I also bought the metal packs years ago and would be nice to get them working on it but I need to update the firmware for them to work.

I recently acquired a JTV-59, and I've had an HD500X for years.  I'm starting to setup some new tones to utilize the capabilities of the Variax. 

I created a tone that sounds fine when I double click on the HD Edit software, I save it to the HD500X, and everything copies over fine.  But then when I tap the HD500X button it's assigned to (on the floor unit), it sounds different:  noticeably quieter is the main issue, less gain may also perhaps be part of the problem

When I switch between the two with the HD Edit software connected, I don't see any setting changing on any of the pages, but it's clearly doing something different between the two methods of arriving to that same patch.

What the heck is going on??

I'm curious if I can use the Line 6 pod built-in amplifiers to drive the Line 6 power cab 112 Plus but also use the Line 6 output of another channel with the Marshall using the effects only patches I have set up. Meaning I would like to run them both at the same time but I would only like to use the amp patches for the power cab and then I'd like to use the effects patches with the Marshall. I have not been able to figure this out so I don't know if it's possible. I figured I'd ask the smart people here. I really hope this makes sense.

I have an M3 macbook running Sequioa 15.1.1.

I have installed latest versions of Line 6 Central and POD HD500 Edit.  

When I connect to my POD HD500X, I can edit for a few minutes, then syncing turns off and I have to start over.

Has anyone else had this issue and do you have any idea if there is an answer to the problem.

Here is what I am thinking about trying and I would like some feedback.

What if I ran an external Marshall JMP1 Preamp to a Mesa 2:90 poweramp and use MIDI(and maybe 2 or 3 cable method?) Then set the HD500X to the 4 footswitch mode. Using the 4 footswitch mode and clone my 4 effects that I use into 1A,1B,1C,1D and then through the MIDI, set 1A as JMP1 clean, 1B as JMP1 dirty, 1C as JMP1 heavy and 1D as JMP1 heavy/boost.

Basically can I run JMP1/Power Amp to an HD500X and be able to switch JMP1 presets with the HD500X without using something like a mini amp gizmo?
