	Back to line 6 after many years. I used to own literally everything! Now I’ve just bought a pocket pod to go with an electric baritone ukulele. I’m 77 and relearning everything. Given that, I’m also doubting everything I do. So when my pocket pod doesn’t work - it won’t turn on - I wonder if it’s me or it’s a faulty unit. Advice please.

<p>
	Hello,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Bought a PodXT recently and I've been trying to update the firmware from 1.xx to 3.01. I've got the latest drivers so I can get the PodXT to connect through Monkey and show the ESN, but there's just nothing shown under the items tab where I'm expecting info about the device to be displayed. I've done lots of googling but can't seem to find anyone who's had this exact problem, I know this thing is going on 20 years old and I don't expect Line 6 support to offer help but there has to be someone else who's had this issue before.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Any advice is much appreciated!

<p>
	Has anyone tried updating a PODxt through the JTAG?  I was given a v1.04 unit and would like to bring it up to v3. It connects through USB and the license manager picked it up and let me authorize it to my account. It is USB 1.00 though.
</p>

<p>
	I'd like to put the model packs I have left onto it, but need the updated v3.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I tried using the workaround that Line 6 provided, but that's a no go.  Trying to update to USB 1.12 still tries to hit the server, which is long gone, and there is no option to choose the v3 file "offline" as suggested in the workaround.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	It's really not a big deal if it can't be updated but why not try, ya know?

<p>
	Dear friends,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I'm pleased to announce version 0.4.0 of <a href="https://arteme.github.io/pod-ui/" rel="external nofollow">pod-ui</a>, a cross-platform tool for controlling POD2.0 modelling app. It's an open-scource app available for Linux, Windows and MacOS. Please check out the <a href="https://github.com/arteme/pod-ui/releases" rel="external nofollow">release page</a> and download the binary for your platform. I'm just one guy with one POD and would genuinely appreciate feedback, especially from Windows and MacOS users.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Currently, the app supports controlling POD in real-time as well as loading POD patches from the device and storing them back to the device. I would love to add lib and l6t file loading in the future as well as support for other Line6 device.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The pre-compiled binaries on the release page include sentry support, which means that if and when the app crashes, a crash report will be uploaded to the cloud. Otherwise the app does not collect or send any data anywhere else.
</p>

<p>
	Purchased a Pod XT used this past weekend.  Everything needs to be updated.  Cant get Monkey to find the POD because the drivers need to be updated.  It says I need to run the installer and takes me to a page but I do not find the installer.  I am running Windows 11.  Is there anyone that can direct me to the installer that I need or at least tell me everything that I need installed on my computer to get this update going? Second question...I had an XT back in the early 2000s that I had purchased the amp packs and had them installed.  If I can get Monkey to recognize this XT that I just bought would my Amp packs still reflect on my account and would it let me install them on this POD?

<p>
	Hi folks,
</p>

<p>
	I am just running this by the forum to make sure I got this all figured out correctly in my head...
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	So, I own the regular<em> <strong>PODxt</strong></em> (red bean) for years now and have the <strong><em>Triple Pack Bundle</em></strong> loaded onto it.
</p>

<p>
	Recently, I bought a used<strong> <em>PODxt live</em></strong> (Firmware V2.14) that also has the packs installed. It's in almost new condition and I love it!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Here are my questions:
</p>

<ol>
	<li>
		The<strong> <em>PODxt live</em></strong> (Firmware V2.14) <u>only has one</u> wahwah pedal model and I can't choose other wah pedal models. In order to get access to the additional wahwah models, I would have to upgrade to the latest firmware, given I find an old computer to run Monkey, correct?
	</li>
	<li>
		If I do upgrade the <strong><em>PODxt live</em></strong> to the latest firmware, can I load the <strong><em>Triple Pack Bundle</em></strong> I already purchased for the <strong><em>PODxt</em></strong> (bean) onto the <em>PODxt live</em> as well?
	</li>
	<li>
		I am asking because the <em>Triple Pack Bundle</em> Overview site only lists PODxt and PODxt Pro and does <u><strong>not</strong></u> specifically mention <strong><em>PODxt live</em></strong>  (see attached screenshot).
	</li>
</ol>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I appreciate all the feedback!
</p>

<p>
	Thanks and keep rocking!
</p>

<p>
	Markus

<p>
	hello! I bought few years ago this pedalboard and never use it but I registered it. Now I try to use it with my mac (with Big sure) but I discover that I have to pay for podfarm 2 to edit all the patches.
</p>

<p>
	I also have in a drawer an old black&amp;red UX1....I think will be the same right?
</p>

<p>
	am I correct? If I find a more recent pedalboard maybe in the second hand market (in a store, ebay...) is there a specific model where I can find podfarm 2 bundled? for example from pod hd 500x I can find it? or it is always to be buyed ?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	thanks a lot.

<p>
	Hi all,
</p>

<p>
	although I am able to run the <em>Line 6 License Manager 1.16</em> and activate my MacBookPro (macOS Sonoma 14.7.4) as a device and was able to install the <em>Line 6 Audio-Midi Driver 7.6.8</em> package, my PODxt live does <u><strong>not</strong></u> show up as an output device in my <em>Sound</em> settings. Also, although I can see the 'Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices' menu in the <em>Systems Settings, </em>the systems panel does not load or recognize the connected PODxt live (see attached picture). The free <em>POD-UI v1.5.1</em> software is able to detect the PODxt live just fine and I am able to read and edit patches using <em>POD-UI v1.5.1</em> .
</p>

<p>
	Does anyone know how I can setup the PODxt live as an audio output the device? My main goal is to play along songs or YouTube tutorial using headphones connected to the PODxt live.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thanks a lot!

<p>
	Hi everyone!<br />
	<br />
	I have a new POD XT Pro, and i was trying to update the unit, i found out that i couldn't connect anymore using my login credentials to the Line 6 Monkey because it seems as far as i know that is no long supported, trying to deal with that i manage to install the updates separately by downloading them each one and install them, the problem came when i was trying to upgrade my 1.12 USB Firmware that came with the unit to the 1.14 USB Firmware that the Line 6 Monkey software show me but didn't allow to download it because of what i explain before. However i didn't find any 1.14 USB Firmware to install separately for my POD XT Pro unit, so... how can i do that? Is there any file to download and install it directly from Windows and update my unit?<br />
	<br />
	Any help would be very appreciate, thank you!

<p>
	Hi all, a few years ago I purchased an XT Live pedal from an online store. When I took it out to test it, the expression pedal didn't work. I wrote to the seller only to find myself ghosted, and the store site said all sales were final and they wouldn't help me. I opened it up and it looked like someone had hot glued the components to the motherboard. I don't know if this is the problem or if a ribbon cable is bad, or if it's something else entirely. Because I already had a Spider IV and shortboard, I didn't bother trying to follow up. It's been sitting in my basement since 2019.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I've recently been downsizing, and I decided I should try to fix it so I can sell it and move on. I paid $150 but even if I could sell it for $100 in current condition I'd just do that. But I'm going to see what I can do anyway.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	See the attached photos, and I'd appreciate if anyone could help me determine if this has any impact on the parts, or if it doesn't and it really could be just a bad cable or harness.
</p>

	Recently acquired a PODxt Live, has a number of 'This tone contains an amp or effect from an expansion pack you do not own'. So wanted to do a Factory Reset, read here it's not that easy.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Installed Line 6 Monkey v1.77 get 'Could not make a connection to the Line 6 web server' 'Code 800001019 Unrecognized file type'.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Installed Line 6 Drivers v4.2.7.7 wouldn't install the drivers L6POD64.sys &amp; L6PODLV64.sys. I had to switch off the Core isolation in my Memory integrity (thinking I'd be able to switch it back on after the drivers were installed). The drivers did install but my Memory integrity can't be switched back on because of incompatible drivers &amp; I haven't figured out how to manually delete them yet.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Installed Line 6 Updater v1.28 after logging in I see 'Select device to update' but there's nothing to choose.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Installed Line 6 Edit but get 'This application requires a 32-bit Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0.
</p>

<p>
	I'm on Windows 11 &amp; obviously running the latest 64-bit Java.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The only thing I did get to work is Line 6 Licence Manager v1.16, my PODxt Live is Authorized.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I've had a blue screen of death twice already, I don't want to mess up my computer for this &amp; spend more hours getting nowhere. I just wanted to reset my PODxt &amp; play guitar do you know what I mean? Shall I just bin this &amp; go back to BOSS?

<p>
	Hey everyone!  So I bought a POD XT Live a few years ago from a friend of mine but it was while I was living in Italy so the only power supply I have for it is the EU plug version of the PX-2.  I have looked all over and seems almost improbable to an actual Line 6 PX-2 that is for sale online.  I'm not an electrician, but since it's only a 2 prong and from what I understand the POD XT Live can be powered with 120-240v 50-60 Hz, has anyone had a problem with just using one of those outlet adapters, or should I just try to find an off-brand 9V AC, 1200mA with a 2.5mm x 5.5mm plug to power it?  I'm worried about using something that isn't Line 6 brand with it but if it'll power it, I'll take it.  Thanks!!!

	I have ye olde Pod 2.0 (kidney bean shape) and am trying to find how I increase sustain beyond what I can do myself at the fretboard. I have a printed manual and have searched online for info on this – and yes, that includes this Forum – but there is a very noticeable lack of info... to the extent that the word 'sustain' isn't mentioned. Am I looking in the wrong places? I'm beginning to suspect that the Pod 2.0 actually doesn't address this at all, and a separate sustain pedal/box is required before or after the Pod.

<p>Hi All, lately I am having quite a lot of trouble with my Pod XT Live floor effects.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>When I call up a patch while playing, it will sound OK for the first few seconds and then lose some volume and sound really dull.</p>
<p>Also when I have selected a patch the screen on the pod will change between the name of the patch and the dialling buttons (like when you edit the patch) I hope this makes sense.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>It will keep on doing this constantly. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?</p>
<p>Because for the moment I am thinking of throwing the whole unit out and getting a different one as I am gigging 2 / 3 times a week I have to be able to trust on my gear.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Any help is welcome. Thanks in advance.</p>

<p>
	In the late 90's I used to play with a Flextone II amplifier and was very happy with my 'home made' presets.
</p>

<p>
	Now I use a small 20 watts Fender amp with lots of pedals. These pedals include a dual distortion pedal (Blackstar)
</p>

<p>
	that I programmed a Blues and a Rock preset for my playing style needs.
</p>

<p>
	But I find these distortion presets not as good as the same type of presets I had in my Flextone II.
</p>

<p>
	So.. oone year a go I purchased a used Pod2 that I knew I could download my early Flextone presets in.
</p>

<p>
	And it worked ! Doing that I remembered how good both my Flextone distortion presets sounded ..
</p>

<p>
	Now I'm thinking of replacing my existing Blackstar dual distortion pedal with the Pod2 I have.
</p>

<p>
	But... I'd like to know if LINE 6 has some newer pedals I could place my original Flextone presets into.
</p>

<p>
	So far both the Flextone and Pod2 used MIDI preset transfer using the LINE6 Edit software.
</p>

<p>
	But I saw some LINE6 pedal still use MIDI connectors.
</p>

<p>
	So any idea of newer compatible LINE6  pedals ?

	What a nightmare. After a PC meltdown and a clean reinstall of Windows 10, I'm finding it impossible to get drivers and updates for the unit using Line 6 Monkey: 'Could not connect to the Line6 server to determine if updates are available'. There is nothing wrong with my internet connection. I have logged in to Monkey and the Line 6 website. I have attempted to open a support ticket, however I get unassociated knowledge base topics. The Pod is registered. I try to log in to Line 6 License Manager, however each time, I get the error message: 'Login failed'. There appears to be no available Line 6 Pod xt Updater available to download. It's driving me nuts. I'd be very grateful for any advice

<p>
	Just wondering if anyone can tell me a little bit about the XT-live. I am not a super tone hound but want something with decent usable effects. Also ability to use the amp modelling would be great. My needs re modelling basically Fender twin or Deluxe and Roland JC type amps. I'm not interested in loading extra impulse responses etc as long as the sound is decent out of a PA. To give some idea I also use a Boss GT-3 which I love and also very old tech (early 2000s) and it has a basic Fender twin and JC and they sound ok to me. Its my belief will never get the real feel of a nice lush tube amp out of one of these things so something that sounds like it will be close enough for me. Also what about the other effects? Most units have decent reverbs, mods...What about compressor, distortion? Are they decent?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I saw a highly rated US studio guy the other day using a HD-500X....would I be better off with one of these? One of the main reasons I am attracted to the XT-live is the foot switches look more robust and I have heard the switches they used for a period (M9, M13 etc) were troublesome. Just bare in mind I am pretty old skool guy. Not looking for deep ambient reverbs, zany nods etc. Just really decent basic effects AKA Boss pedals. Any advice appreciated.

<p>
	On the AMP MODELS chart in the Owner's manual (on the left-hand side of the POD diagram), I can see how the first few amp models listed relate to the AMP MODELS dial on the POD itself.
</p>

<p>
	Starting in the lower left bottom of the dial with LINE 6 CLEAN, then moving up clockwise to the top of the dial with MODERN CLASS A, and then down clockwise to FUZZ BOX and finally TUBE PREAMP. All that makes sense according the AMP MODELS chart.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	But on that same chart, there's a subsequent, secondary list of amp models. Starting with (LIne 6 Clean) Line 6 Twang. The Small Tweed identified as 1952 Tweed Deluxe before, is now identified as Small Tweed #2 in this secondary list as a '60 Tweed Champ. The Black Panel in the first list is a Blackface Deluxe. In this second list, the Black Panel is now a '65 Blackface Twin.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	So, my question is: how do you access these secondary amps?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thanks.

	Hi, I'm trying to source a Pedal PCB for my PodXT Live. The pedal function has died - both Volume and Wah, and I've reset software/firmware and updated all drivers and flash mem, pretty sure its either the light emitting diode or the opto-transistor on this PCB that is faulty, so need to swap the PCB. Part number is 50-02-0032. Does anyone know where parts can be obtained or perhaps someone is breaking one for spares ?? I'm attaching a picture of the PCB

	So everything was working just fine, idk of any changes I may have made by accident. But now my volume pedal wont cut to zero output. In the settings it's still set to 0, and when I "turn the minimum volume dial up" in the monkey, it raises the minimum output up, so its responding, but when I back off the pedal, there's still sound coming thru even all the way down. So it does lower the volume, but not to zero. Any ideas?

	Hi folks. recently acquired a pod xt live pro. Basically in 'as new' condition. I appreciate its now a legacy product but hoping someone can help me out on a couple of matters.
</p>

<p>
	1. Output Mode System: the instruction manual is either a little vague or my unit has an issue (possibility that i am vague too LOL). The manual says i can select which speaker combo/amp like 2x12 etc. Except these options don't come up when turning the effect tweak dial. The only options i can select re the low/mid/high
</p>

<p>
	2. UPDATES: been trying to use the line6 monkey software to update. My xt display shows version 3.01 and usb v1.12.

	Cheers, stru

	You can use it free of charge. Use it on your own risks.<br />

<p>
	<span>The problem: Pedal C and Modulation pedal both don't work: no light when pressed; no change to function; i,e, Rest of the unit can't see those 2 pedals being pressed.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span>Everything else works fine.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span>What happened?  The power supply socket on the motherboard came a bit loose, and power was cutting in and out.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span>- I opened the POD. Got the motherboard out. HAD TO DISCONNECT THE RIBBON CABLE from the motherboard (the one that goes to the two pedal banks. Also disconnected the ribbon cable at the Volume/wah pedal end.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span>- Unsoldered the power socket from the motherboard - it did have a broken leg. Soldered in a new one - power was all good after that.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span>But..... Having put the motherboard back into the top half of the POD body, and reconnected the ribbon cables, although the power is fine, and all the functions work, Two pedals don't work: Pedal C and the Modulation Pedal. i.e. the LED doesn't come on, and the functions don't change.  ALL the other pedals and functions are fine.</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I used a circuit tested to confirm that the buttons behind the two offending pedals are both fine - they behave exactly like all the other buttons when they're attached to the circuit tested and pushed.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	So, I suspect there's a problem either in the ribbon cable, or somewhere beyond that.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	...and that's where I'm stuck.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Help!!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Is it time to sell this XT Live for spares? Is there an easy fix?  Something else???
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thanks in advance <span>:-)</span>

<p>
	This post is intended to assist those that still require the aging LINE 6 EDIT on their Windows 10 machine in order to edit their PODs, XT's, etc...
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The current installers on their own will throw errors or simply won't work... but it all has to do with the JAVA pointers in the installation. They simply don't "point" to the right locations anymore.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<ol>
	<li>
		<strong>Download an older 32 bit JAVA installation....</strong>

		<ul>
			<li>
				Visit this site...  (note. This may change in time, don't count on it being here forever)<br />
				<a href="https://www.oracle.com/ca-en/java/technologies/oracle-java-archive-downloads.html" rel="external nofollow">https://www.oracle.com/ca-en/java/technologies/oracle-java-archive-downloads.html</a>
			</li>
			<li>
				Click on the JAVA SE 6 link   (you can try something higher if you want, but I know this one works which is why I mention it)
			</li>
			<li>
				Navigate to the "Windows x86" package and download it.
			</li>
			<li>
				Install this package
			</li>
		</ul>
	</li>
	<li>
		<strong>Download 'LINE 6 EDIT" from the Line 6 download area. </strong>
		<ul>
			<li>
				Choose "Line 6 Edit" from the SOFTWARE dropdown
			</li>
			<li>
				Choose "Windows 7" from the OS dropdown
			</li>
			<li>
				Click GO
			</li>
			<li>
				Now download the WINDOWS 3.04 version of Line 6 EDIT  (don't download the MAC version in error)
			</li>
			<li>
				Install the software, but uncheck the option to install JAVA
			</li>
		</ul>
	</li>
</ol>

<p>
	Line 6 Edit should now load and find a connected device that is supported.

<p>
	Hi Line 6ers. I have had the XT live for quite some time now and I love it. My question is a simple one, but I cannot find the answer anywhere even tho I have the original Pilot's Handbook. I am in the middle of setting up another of my own programmed sounds but I can't remember how to turn on all the bypassed stuff like the EQ especially as I want to tweak some tones. You will probably say that I'm stupid and all you have to do is........? But I really don't know how to now.
</p>

<p>
	Thank you for your time and patience in advance.

<p>
	Hi all, I've had my xT Live for a few years now, and I think I've not had it optimized for my needs. Here's how I'd like to reconfigure it. Please add any feedback to what I'm going to try. My goal is to have all my tone in the POD, and none from the amp, so I can plug in anywhere and have consistent tone no matter what
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Input to norm for mag pickup guitars, pad for my active EMG equipped guitars, will also be using a variax 300 soon as well
</p>

<p>
	output switch to line level
</p>

<p>
	output level as needed ( how loud idk)
</p>

<p>
	L mono out to amp input (Marshall 8080 combo, using effects return jack, 0db/-20db switch to 0db, this should be line level input?)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Should I turn off or use cab/ir models? I'm thinking in this configuration I'm not really using the amp as a guitar amp, but really more like a powered speaker (power amp and speaker only), or is it still coloring the sound as its a guitar cabinet and speaker?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	How am I doing so far?

<p>
	Hello, I have a problem with a live line6 pod xt. For some time the sound has stopped coming out, neither in the headphones nor in the speaker.
</p>

<p>
	Obviously I don't know if the problem is outgoing or incoming. She turns on quietly. I have read that a 9v a.c power supply is used and that is what is used. I tried to open it to see if there was something missing, but to the eye everything looks ok. Some time ago my father sprayed the contact cleaner product inside the jack inputs. I am attaching the photos I took inside on the central plate.<br />
	Hope someone who had the same problem can help me solve. Thanks so much everyone for the help.
