I use it for playing with my band, rehearsal live etc. 

When I bought it I factory restored it as well as added all the extensions and new sims since everything is free for these old ones now. 

I started to mess around with it and realized that when I would attempt to modify tones the screen would get stuck/frozen on whatever I was working on. 

So basically when I try to edit the settings the buttons near the screen stop working and whatever I was trying to modify will stay on the screen. Sometimes it will freeze on the preset, other times it will freeze on the stomp/comp/effect whatever. If I back out of the channel and switch banks or to a different tone it will start working again then either freeze or work for awhile before it does the same thing. 

I've managed to get some tones out of it when I first got it so I've been able to use it. However, my band has been making a lot of progress recently and I feel like now is the time to dig in and setup a few tones that I can actually use for playing live. 

This units exterior is in fantastic condition and I haven't taken it apart or messed with it at all yet. 

I didn't have this issue with my other Pod XT pro so I'm wondering if this is a common issue that can be resolved easily or if something is going on internally with the unit. I went ahead and bought the FFBV as well since it is compatible with my Spider Valve which is also having issues right now or I'd just switch. 

It's just super strange because when I do switch channels there's no issue for awhile...

Any ideas? Has anyone had this issue? No warranty since it's so old and I'm definitely not the original owner. I don't want to buy another unit because I'll probably end up switching to another brand and I'm pretty loyal to Line 6's older models. 

Is there any way I could get some advice on this clean tone? Im recording through my Line 6 pod Pro X and into my Focusrite Scarlett 18i20. The signal into my Studio one DAW is around -12dB, which i know is I've been familiar with recording and using a DAW for a while, but there is still a lot I don't know. I'm embarrassed to say I've always struggled with Tone creation and signal chains and how to set up the most ideal recording setup…

1) I hear a lot of fuzz through the recording. I already have noise gates before and after my chain.. But for a clean tone, i feel like i shouldn't be struggling so much still. (0:17-0:23 of the recording)   

2) Is there a way to make the low end notes not sound so weak? Is this just an EQ problem? (0:09-0:13)

My Pod Pro is not working, which I have found to be the transformer soldered to the PCB inside the case has somehow been damaged, there is no power comming out of the transformer.

I am a Electronics Engineer and have removed the transformer from the PCB. Please see attached photograpgh

I have a POD Pro which I bought in 2000. It has the EPROM V1.1 firmware fitted. I am looking to update it with EPROM V1.3 firmware. Does anyone have 1 or know where I can get on?. Having looked on the forums it seems Line 6 don't have any.

I have a Pod Pro rack model that has developed a fault. The EDITED light stays permanently on no matter how many times you push the save button. I have done the Factory Reset a couple of times, but still to no avail. I was going to use it as a backup to another Pod Pro I have, as I use them for live work. The floor controller when connected to the faulty Pod doesn't work while the Pod is in Edit mode. The only way to go through the patches is via the arrow buttons on the front panel. The patches are all intact, even if you change any of the parameters and save them. They are saved but the EDITED light stays on. Line 6 has no new updates for this model as it is quite old now. I did have the Pod XT with the Metal Gear pack installed, but found most of the patches unusable, so I gave it away. I prefer the sounds in the old Pod Pro.

Any thoughts on the problem?

Would the POD Pro translate the mic signal well enough or is it possible that it adds something, some color to the sound? Should I go for an m-audio or a focusrite instead and use an amp sim?
 

Metered the power supply and on the circuit board, pre and post power switch and the correct voltage is there. Battery meters +3 volts on the circuit board, That's as far as I've gone inspecting it, other than looking for obvious stuff like a burnt component, swollen cap ect. All looks good other than some dull looking solder points. (Cold solder problem?) I've fixed a few electronics before by re-touching solder points, but my electronics knowledge is very limited. Anyone run across this problem with the Jelly bean?

Line 6 License Manager version: 1.13

Line 6 Monkey  does not recognize installed driver and connected device, same as License Manager. However Pod is avaiable in System Preferences as Audio-MIDI Device and works perfectly with Pod Farm 2.59. Because of problem with License Manager i cant use full version of Pod Farm. On Windows laptop everything works like a charm (via usb 2.0 and usb-c connectivity).

Any ideas what is wrong with License Manager on macOS Mojave?

I'm still using my PodXT Pro at my home studio to record my demos. The thing is that I've just bought a new Macbook with Catalina OS already installed, but Line 6 Monkey and Line 6 Edit apps don't work!

Do you know if Line 6 is working on a 64bit version of these apps? What are we supposed to do with our legacy units?

I have old PodXT Pro and I like this processor :) I would like to make some enhancment and connect XT with Mooer Radar to load some RedWirez impulses. As we know is impossible to load IR directly to XT (or maybe is this possible somehow?) and my question: is possible to put Mooer Radar via loop FX with XT to have IR from Radar?

recently, the volume level has been super low. (may have been the floor controller pedal... not sure. Too late to find out now.

Two days ago, by display started saying Pod Pro over and over again. I have never seen that before. I pushed some buttons to try to get a response and turned the power of and on a few times. Now it has no display. The red "vent lights" come on, but nothing else.

Has anyone ever had this happen before? I assume the POD Pro message was an error or impending failure message, especially in light of the failure.

What does it mean?

What can I do? 

Is this fixable?

I bought a Pod Pro and i opened it up and there was 1,2v chip in it. I also have POD 2.0 with 2.3v chip inside, so it thought i will try to switch chips, and it didnt work, only two lights on the left and on the right where are theres holes like vents lighted up. And now when i put my originaal 1.2v chip back into POD Pro, same thing happes, only lights and the pod wont power up and the chip heats up really good. I there a chance that when 2.3v chip is applied, the pods brain goes grazy or something? no i need to reset te battery inside, or firmware?

So I have recently bought through HD Pro X, and an FBV3 foot controller.

I have a quick question, is there a way of switching between dirty and clean on the amps, so for instance Soldano clean and then dirty like in real life.

Or do you have to set up duel amps one clean and set dirty?

If this can be done, how and how can it be assigned to do this.

Okay, I'm dealing with a Pod Pro version 1.2. The issue is that this unit has a pulsating buzz on the headphone output. The buzz is not present on the other outputs, only the headphone out. The buzz is still present even with the tuner engaged. It's not a hiss like you'd get by turning up the volume too loud. There's no obvious grounding issues with the jack, as I've visually inspected it for loose connection points, and the problem is steady and non-intermittent. I suspect that there's a ground loop or power conditioning problem somewhere in the headphone driver/amp, but beyond that, I'm not sure where to start. This unit is out-of-warranty obviously, and I have no service centers locally. Hoping someone could provide a bit of heavy tech knowledge to track down the part of the circuit that would likely be involved.

If yes I would suspect two things, first, is dirty contacts, on either the male or female connections, and even inside your male headphone wire solder joints. And two a bad ground between your outboard gear and the POD! This will cause the 60 cycle hum!

I have no outboard gear. Just the headphones plugged straight into the headphone jack. Not even a guitar connected. Tried multiple headphones/speakers, and it's still there. It's fairly subtle, but noticeable. I'm sure it's 60-cycle hum, but I can't figure out where inside the Pod it could be coming from.

It should also be noted that the noise was always at a constant volume regardless of the volume knob or any amp settings (as evidenced by the noise being present in Tuner mode). This was noise being added after all signal processing / amplification and before hitting the headphone jack.

Well, despite the kind assistance of this helpful forum member, the solution wasn't tied to a bad jack, dirty contacts, faulty house wiring, or anything so related. Line 6 was absolutely no help either, as they just gave the stock "unfortunately this may need to be serviced" reply. If you want something done right, do it yourself, right?

The noise was EMI/RF from the transformer being injected into the wires leading from the mainboard to the headphone PCB. While you'd think the POD Pro (emphasis on Pro) would be an all-around better performer than the standard POD, the standard POD is totally noise free because of the external wall-wart style power adapter. The Pod PRO has an internal power supply and the transformer is in quite close proximity to the headphone jack (without any shielding! What, no mu-metal?) and so noise can leak into the headphone output. Bad engineering.

The (unorthodox) approach I took to remedy this annoyance was this:

When looking inside the POD Pro from the front, there are 4 white wires leading from the headphone jack to the mainboard. The wire furthest to the right is connected to the "sleeve" conductor of the headphone jack which is what supplies grounding for the tip and the ring (left and right signal).

I clipped that 4th wire at the mid-point and then spliced in another wire to elongate that lead (soldering the wire to both now-exposed ends of the 4th white wire). This gives you enough slack to re-position the ground wire somewhere where there is less EMI -- a bit like the radio antenna "dance" while trying to get proper reception. With nothing plugged in except the power cord and headphones, I moved the ground wire around to different points above the mainboard PCB until I found a point where the noise disappeared. In my case, the best positioning was a bit to the right of the transformer roughly where there is a ferrite bead behind an IC. I also found that holding the lead perfectly straight without any curves gave the best result. Once the perfect "antenna" position was found, I tacked down its placement with hot glue. Very small movements are necessary to fine tune the position, so you'll want to make sure the wire cannot move at all once the magic spot is found.

I was able to eliminate almost all of the noise in this manner. The standard "kidney bean" POD may still be slightly quieter, but it is very, very close now -- well within acceptable limits.

WARNING

Given that you have to take the cover off the POD Pro and fiddle around with it while it is powered on, there is a danger of either frying your POD or frying yourself. If you don't know how to protect yourself from electrocution (mains voltage, hello!) and your gear from short circuits and static charges then don't take any risks.

I'm trying to connect the old POD Pro to my PC via midi to USB cable.

I can't find the specific drivers on Line 6 monkey and it won't detect it automatically.

I tried the drivers for the POD 2.0, which seemed to having me getting somewhere.

It said 'Turn off your pod, then hold the midi button and power on again', which I did. Then I got this message "Update failed (Code 8000900C) MIDI device timed out for a response

make sure cables are connected and try the update again".

My POD HDX works fine but I'm having no luck with this one.

Any advice would be top banana,

I have had a Toneport UX1 for years (I know it is long since defunct /superceded - but it worked great) along with Gearbox 3 - used it for years and loved it.

I now have a new 64 bit pc - I know that gear box is not 64 bit and that pod farm is the replacement but I have a couple of questions:

1) If I were to download the free/trial version of Podfarm 2.5 64bit (and Monkey) - would that have a driver that would allow my Toneport UX1 to work? Or is the Toneport itself 32 bit only?

2) Does podfarm still work as a stand alone software (like my version of Gearbox did) or does it only function as a VST plugin, in other words does it work for just playing along to, without the need for a DAW?

I ask these questions because I have just purchased Studio One Artist (which I really like and know how to use) BUT, the version I have does not support plugins. Also, the USB interface supplied with it is pretty low-end (and after using the Toneport all these years I got used to not having issues with latency!) Lastly I really like hearing a processed signal go into the DAW rather than playing dry and using the effects  in post (plus the included Ampire is not that great either).

I am just a middle aged bloke who does a bit of guitar/music recording for a bit of fun - not making a living out of this and cannot really justify spending £££££'s on kit

anyway hoping someone may be able to shed some light for me

Tengo un Pod Pro y se empezó a encender el indicador de EDITED aunque no haya hecho ningún cambio al programa. Esto sucede en todos los bancos, le he puesto que salve y aún así sigue encendido. Incluso lo reinicié a sus valores de fábrica y sigue encendido.

I have a Pod Pro, but in my country the dealer of Line 6 doesn't have potentiometers for Pod Pro, because the pot of the drive doesn't work. So, I would like to buy a pot in USA, but I don't know who sell this item by Internet.

I have a pod that's not responding.

After powering it up the display freezes on "d" and A, B and C light up but none of the controls are working.

I tried resetting (holding  up and down buttos while powering up). but no result.

anyone experienced the same thing?

hopefully someone can help.  I have a Pod Pro (rackmount).  I'm trying to "re-amp" from Logic.

I have output 3 from Logic carrying a dry guitar signal to "line level input" on Pod. Although I do get the re-amped sound, it is also swamped in hiss.  The hiss changes tone/volume as I switch to different amp models and also gets affected by the effects.  The amount of hiss decreases as I turn the gain down but is still present on the clean setting on the Pod. The hiss is present through the Pod's headphone output as well as the main output.

Any ideas?
