    Any news from line6?

HX Edit "no device connected" problem. Help please.

Yeah that would be the most logical way but im kinda scared reading all these problems related to the 2.8 update so i want to first make sure that i can get it working properly with a previous firmware and then jump to 2.8. I can't open HX edit and it seems that you need to open HX edit to update to 2.8.

    Helix Bug Reports

Makes perfect sense. Also happens to me, that’s what I came looking for. atvevery start up. Have to go to Global settings and move the knob to mic, then back to line to correct it.

    That SVT-4 PRO

Daumn! It's fantastic. We don't talk bass that much on here, but it's exactly what I've wanted for a bass sound all this time. Thank you line6! It's so plug and play. I barely have to tweak anything, and it's so fat a huge sounding. lol

HX Edit 2.80 - Quits on Creating a Backup

I would probably double-check my USB connections, try other USB ports, reboot my computer, and if necessary uninstall and reinstall HX Edit 2.80. If it continues to crash on create backujp you can backup the setlists and IRs individually(if it lets you) and see which one is crashing. Narrow it down from there. Btw, curious if you would have this problem running HX Edit as Administrator just to make sure it is not a permissions problem on the directory you are backing up to. Do you have any anti-virus program running that you can suspend for the duration of the test.

Firmware 2.8 and USB Audio Driver - Mac

You realize all bets are off if you didn't PRECISELY follow the sequence which is to: 1. Download the HX Edit 2.80 install app, then run the downloaded install app that will install HX Edit, the appropriate device drivers, and the correct version of Line 6 Updater. 2. After that you exit HX Edit and run the new downloaded version of Line 6 Updater which installs the firmware. Anything other than that and there's no telling what you have installed. You may want to just start over and make sure you follow the sequence exactly.

    Helix Firmware 2.80

I had the same positive experience with both the Helix Floor and the Stomp (including backups and restorations of my IRs, global settings, and set lists). It may be my imagination, but every preset I played (including the song presets I used for a recent event) seem to exhibit more clarity. That clarity reminded me of my experience with a BBE Sonic Maximizer (an aural exciter that reduces program material phase cancellation).

Firmware 2.8 and USB Audio Driver - Mac

after I typed my first reply, it stopped working (for a bit). I noticed when I went into logic and looked at the audio devices, the helix was there and there was another helix called 'temporary' or something... I wished I paid better attention to that because I just selected the helix input device and the temporary one disappeared (it had been selected). It then stopped working. I reinstalled the driver (2nd time) and rebooted again, and so far it's been working (I've recorded multiple takes on several different projects and all seems to be working finally). I also unplugged my helix after the 2nd install and plugged it back in after the reboot and after starting Logic. So it might be kinda flaky, but it eventually works... at least for me.

Firmware 2.8 and USB Audio Driver - Mac

Thanks for letting me know. I did a reinstall of the Line 6 driver and rebooted, but it doesn't seem to either be loading or recognizing the Helix w/2.8 firmware on my Mac. After rebooting, I still only see the "Helix Audio" output device which under system preferences indicates "The selected device has no output controls". I think that means that's the default apple audio driver, and not Line 6's. Same problem on a desktop Mac and my MacBook Pro laptop. I'll try manually removing the Line 6 driver, reboot, install the driver again, reboot, and see if it clears up. If yours works, at least I know there's hope. Thanks!
  11. Wondering whether anyone has seen this issue after updating to 2.80. My presets with MIDI program and CC outgoing messages in the control center were all reset from channels 2 and 3 to base channel. Interestingly, when I looked at them in HX Edit, they showed still being on channels 2 and 3, until I changed a snapshot, and then it would show base. So it still knew they used to be 2 and 3 before forgetting. Also, all the other information, e.g., program and CC numbers, are unchanged. Im not sure whether I did something to cause it. I did play with the global settings while I was fixing those after the update, so it’s possible I did something that caused it. Not a big deal, just a pain going through every preset with MIDI messages and changing the channel numbers for every snapshot. But I’d like to get to the bottom of whatever it was so maybe others won’t do the same thing.

    Go straight to 2.8.

    Helix Bug Reports

Possible 2.80 bug Helix Floor & Helix Edit I've seen my Helix Edit program lose connection with the Helix floor several times since the update. There doesn't seem to be any specific trigger. I've had it stay connected for hours, until I shut everything down and I've seen connection lost within 10 minutes of powering and starting up.

    Helix Bug Reports

I noticed that when trying to return to the amps default parameters that it goes to the old settings instead the new default setting.

Wow that’s really clever...using cc midi to enable you to control Helix parameters with your DT encoders...please check your PMs...thanks

    Helix Bug Reports

Same question here plus I’m having an issue on my Control display with percentage showing up every few seconds even when I’m not using my Line 6 Mission spring loaded pedal. Be nice if you could turn the that function off altogether.

Helix/DT amp integration on the way!

Ah. you are right. I see it now rereading the thread in context. I can think of two possibilities that it isn't working for you. 1; The DT Amp doesn't have firmware 2.0, or 2; the XLR cable you are using to connect the Helix to the DT isn't compatible. The Specs for the line6 link are for a XLR 110-Ohm AES/EBU cable. Some folks have gotten regular 50 ohm cables to work, but others not. Hope you get it working. Bob
  20. People I had the same problem, I followed the instructions to the tee but the update hung at the first boot fail message. Tried all the suggestions here with no joy. Finally tried plugging into every USB port and bingo one worked! Try plugging into everyone of your USB ports before you try all other ideas, would have savd me about 16 hours.

relationship between normal usb output level and other outputs

Thanks again. Monitoring where I play is on IEM so it's the same signal being sent from the Helix to the mixer. On our mixer the input trim shows mic / line. -22 to +20 or - 15 to + 65

    Live vs Recorded Tone

  28. Hi, I want to use the XLR out of my Helix (Stomp) to run direct. I use a Mackie DL1608 and it's all or none on phantom power, and need it for other devices. I know i can use a DI box, but the phantom blocker is smaller and i plan on integrating it in my pedal board, and just leave it always plugged in inline. My question is, does any one just leave it plugged into their helix regardless of if the venue/board? I think that's fine, but the disclaimer on the Triton site made me a little nervous: Important ! Before connecting the device you wish to shield from Phantom power make sure Phantom blocker is attached, have Phantom power switched on and wait 5 seconds during which Phantom blockers internal bleeder resistors will cancel out voltage differences. Connecting in this order prevents the transfer of an initial AC voltage burst created by the Phantom power switching on. Any reason to be concerned, or just leave it inline and not worry about order of power on? Sescom have the same 'feature'? Thanks for any input -jim
