  2. I absolutely LOVE my wife. She's drop dead gorgeous, a demon in the sack, a great cook and a meticulous housekeeper. She doesn't even mind that I gig 3 nights a week for chump change and come home drunk. That's making me think about trading her in, but there's so many choices! An Italian Super Model An Asian Beauty A High School Cheerleader A Hooker from Hoboken Help me out here guys, I just can't make up my mind! ******************************************************************* I recommend that you keep the HX FX, 5153 and 212 cab, and get your wife to Roadie for you. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

    USB Port no longer working

I bought my Helix used. it updated to 2.8.2 just fine. then the next day I go to load some IRs and my MacBook isn’t detecting any Helix on either the system report, Line 6 Updater, or HX Edit. i already opened a ticket, but has anyone else experienced a sudden death of the USB? Everything else works fine.

    Effect On Off Switches Reversing

You're right. I must have confused snapshot + footswitch with footswitch+footswitch. Thanks for spotting that. Anyways @williamjaywhalen I'll upload the preset I'm using and you can modify from there.
  5. I wouldn't switch if I absolutely loved it.

Helix tuner in regards to delay and reverb trails

Fair points, but it's still something I can't believe they didn't figure out seeing as this is becoming increasingly popular with worship bands that use heavy delay and reverb. Aww well! I did discover a bit of a workaround though. You can place a send block in your path before the volume pedal, keep your dry through level at full, and then use the send the same as the volume out on an Ernie Ball volume pedal. Be neat if there was a 9v out on the Helix, but I guess you can't have everything!

POD HD500 straight into a Mixer

I think this is maybe off topic. Ill research outside of this forum, as its more of a process and technique and is very subjective. Thanks anyway. Peace

POD HD500 straight into a Mixer

Thanks for the reply. I understand what "in ears" are. I was wondering what is the best way to use them. I was wondering what outputs I am using typically on a mixer to monitor ourselves via the "In ears". Naturally, I wouldnt use the main outs, but what output signal am I using to go into the "in ear" inputs. Headphone outs? I would also assume that I wouldnt want to use a hot signal. Some low output signal? So used to just using amps, but really want to monitor ourselves via "In Ear's". Thanks in advance

G10 Problem, crackling controls, then dead...

Did you at least get the G10 back in working condition?
  11. barkerm

    Here we go . . .

Ok, I misled (I think). "NOTHING" doesn't really mean "NOTHING." The Variax powers on when plugged into the HELIX. But no audio seems to be transmitted. The tuner doesn't "Hear" the Variax. And, of course, I get no audio input through the VDI connection. WAKE UP HELIX! PLEASE!

G10 Problem, crackling controls, then dead...

I have a brand new dead G30. This post has been here since May and not a single Line 6 representative has responded.

Guys who have gone from all tube amp to all digital. Opinions?

    It's a custom built 212 cab.
  14. MadScientistDude

G30 quit working after 4 months.

My G10 was fixed once under warranty the same week I bought it for the flimsy USB connector issue then replaced towards the end of the warranty after it just quit working.

I'm CERTAIN (Trying to convince myself) that I'm screwing something up! Variax input, volume up, straight through to output. I have been using digital out to the power cabs. going to try something else. BTW - I LOVE the HELIX pitch shift! Pink Floyd Marooned! Even Billy Strings is doing the wild pitch shift now! So don't get me wrong, even if Variax is dead, I'll survive. However . . . GOTTA FIGURE THIS OUT!

G30 quit working after 4 months.

You are correct, the transmitter only lights up if I push hard on the battery door and even then the two lights blink on and off as if there is an error code. Its really frustrating because my G10 is range limited. Nothing close to advertised no matter what environment, and for the 2 gigs that this G30 worked I barely got a few more feet of range. With all the problems people are having I'm surprised the Relay division is still in business. And here it is 2 months after the post and not a peep from a Line 6 representative on this official Line 6 forum.

  18. I opened a ticket as well and was told Line 6 is aware of the issue but there’s no timetable for a fix. Line 6 has a annoying history of abandoning its older products in favor of the newer ones. I doubt I’ll buy another Line 6 product. I don’t like being taken for granted.

"PRO CAT5E" cable with the shroud,... good, that's the correct one. Helix,... each FX module has its in/out gain, it's a matter of keeping control of them.

If it means anything, the last time I got the Variax working with the Helix, it sounded REALLY BAD! Couldn't seem to adjust the BAD out. Had a little time now, so thought I would try again, now, well, still workin' it!

    Here we go . . .

I think it is a good cable. I've tried several, good and cheap. No Joy! The first cable plugged into the HD Pro worked - it is a "PRO CAT5E" cable with the shroud. I'm trying NOT to start asking myself "how did I blow up the variax input to my HELIX????!!!!" Trying REAL hard! :D Still workin' it!

I/O configuration in the edit or set-up page in the Helix would be a place to start. Good idea to use a real VDI cable and not some regular CAT5 cable.

"in ears" is short for In Ear Monitors (IEMs for short). The key word is monitor. Instead of using floor/stage/wedge monitors, you use them in your ear. Slightly different than headphones.

Help! I messed up my Helix!

Thanks for the tip Jim! I'm not sure if that was it or not as it's still working, but if it acts up again, I'll try another cable and see if that's the issue.

    Here we go . . .

Ok, here's the scary part . . . . I dug the old POD HD Pro out, dusted it off, hooked it up via the "Variax" (ethernet looking) port. Works! This is giving me goosebumps now! This isn't the kind of scare I was hoping for, for Halloween! HELIX, NOT WORKZ, POD HD PRO, WORKZ! Ouch! I'm sure it's just a setting I'm missing. The HELIX learning curve is quite high (POD HD PRO not?!?!)! <fingers crossed!>

I just got the spider v 20. I have a windows laptop, and according to the manual needs an asio driver. I have the spider v remote app. I have the usb cable connected to the amp and the laptop, but the computer says there no device connected. I also don't know where this asio driver is. Help.

Guys who have gone from all tube amp to all digital. Opinions?

I had the M13 and haven't even looked at it since the day I unboxed the Helix. Actually, that's a lie - I had to look at it when I took pictures of it to sell online :) I know the HX Effects is way ahead of the M13, but my plan was to use the Helix in 4CM for effects only and still use my amp for tone - like my M13 setup. That all changed when I pressed the power-on button. Getting the Helix is like the saying "if you build it, they will come" because once you start playing around with it you want to explore more. I was always an "I get my tone from my amp" guy and only used affects to supplement my tone. Now I have more presets that use Helix preamps than I do using my tube amp preamp section. I don't play out right now, but if I did I would seriously consider going all Helix and leaving the amp at home. Having a load-in that consists of a backpack and guitar(s) is very appealing. Especially since my DSL weighs 58 lbs and my back is not in the best shape. Plus I use a 1x12 extension cab so I would want to bring that with as well. My plan would be Helix to FOH. If there was no FOH I'd have to decide between an FRFR or some type of power amp (Seymour Duncan PowerStage?) and my speaker cab. Welcome to the future!
