Helix Backup if I sell my Amps?

Agree on stomp. Less resourses for sure, but no loss of sound quality. Pod hd can get you near, but you will need at least 3 to 4 eq, so you will have even less fx to place on chain.

    POD Series Encoder jump?

Hi folks, So, a question on the POD series, and maybe they even fixed this with the POD HD series...I have a POD X3 Live that I bought used a couple years ago based on Lincoln Brewster's use and endorsement of the line, and I do like the sound of this thing quite a bit. However, one thing I really hate about it is that if I recall a patch and then go to adjust any of the physical knobs, the patch setting suddenly jumps to the current knob position as soon as I move it rather than allowing me to adjust it from it's currently saved setting. For example, if I want to tweak up the reverb a bit on a dry-ish sounding patch, and the physical Reverb knob is way up for whatever reason, as soon as I move the Reverb knob I'm suddenly playing in Shea stadium. Or, if my patch volume needs adjusting and I grab the Tone Volume knob, I may get a sudden blast of volume as soon as I move it if the knob is physically up high. Did the POD HD series and/or Helix series finally figure out how to fix this? I was looking at some used HD500's as I've gotten into looping, but I won't bother if they haven't fixed that issue. If the Helix fixed it, I'll hold out for one of those maybe. Thanks, Jeff

Helix Backup if I sell my Amps?

I pack a Tech 21 Fly Rig in my Helix bag. Takes up practically no space, weighs next-to-nothing and covers the basics well enough to get me me through a show if the Helix fails, which BTW it has never done and I’ve had mine since 2015. Fly Rigs come in a variety of flavors - check your favorite gear provider/store for the various options available. The newer ones (ie V2) have onboard tuners, the older ones don’t. Good luck!
  6. All the amp models in my Pro X have very low volume output, and what little volume they have is hideously muddy. Right now the only thing in my signal path is the amp, any amp, and they all sound crappy and have no volume. Some amp models have no detectable volume at all. Doesn't matter what I do with the drive, volume, and master knobs. What am I doing wrong?

Simply take the latest update (. It's all in there what you need to bring up your Helix to the newest version. :-) Grrrr...too late. ;-)

    Helix updating question.NOOB.

Hi, Just go straight to v2.71, there is no need to do an incremental update. There wasn't much to the 2.71 update, so a lot of users never bothered - everyone is waiting for firmware 2.80 to drop. Hope this helps.

    Helix to recreate unique pedals.

If that's indeed the case, it will be great. I won't have block/DSP limit problems as I'll be making the patches on the Stomp so they should work on all the others (without amps on the HX Effects).

    Helix updating question.NOOB.

Hi all, just received my Helix LT and in the process of upgrading to the latest firmware, 2.71, my question is should i start from the first updat and work up to 2.71? or does installing 2.71 automatically install all the previous updates before that. thanks for any replies.
  13. Sounds great!!! P.s. please please please, try my realistic bundle from here: https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=24065.0 Since you are a youtuber, and a great guitarist, your opinion will matter for me!

    Helix Stomp too much treble.....

Thanks, very valid point Zolko, didn't know about that impedance. Will try the preamp version! @codamedia, yes I use only the amp without cab.

    Helix to recreate unique pedals.

Αs far as i got it yes. This is the core line 6 fighting about. All can be read by all, though still the dsp will be problem on stomp, if it loads a bigger than 6 blocks preset.

    Delay/snapshots on HX Effects

I'm not sure how helpful but I found a workaround with 1 delay block. If I change tempo settings to snapshots and set BPM 125 fix for snapshot 3 I get a 320ms delay at 1/4 Triplet note sync. https://www.dropbox.com/s/jtp38dgo3g6ikos/Helix 3 different delay times per 1 block.mov?dl=0 I made the step by step video above for explanation.

    Helix to recreate unique pedals.

People mentioned this but it is not clear if I can do this without having any of them. Can I just save HX Stomp presets as Helix presets without connecting a Helix or using Native?

Helix Backup if I sell my Amps?

Brue58ski beat me to it. HX Stomp setup for a minimum set of tones just in case Helix gets a beer rain is what Id do too, and just throw it in one of your larger pockets and yer done!

    Delay/snapshots on HX Effects

It does seem like a very odd limitation of the HX devices. I'm sure there is a reason you can't change that from a snapshot, but it would sure be great if you could. IIRC.... not only can't you change from MS to Subdivision, you can't even change from one Subdivision to another. I have an LT with 3 delay blocks. One for slap (fixed ms), one for tap tempo set to 1/8 or 1/4 (I don't remember) and yet another to manage my dotted 8th syncopated delays. Such a waste... because I could have done all of that with one delay if snapshots could control the subdivision settings.

Thanks for the tip, Brofsu. Will file it away in case I need it. So far, so good!

Helix Backup if I sell my Amps?

I wold suggest the HX Stomp. Same modelling, just less resources. The HD500X (my current backup) is definitely adequate but you will have to completely recreate your patches. There's no way to port them over.

Helix Backup if I sell my Amps?

I upgraded to a Helix from an HD500.... so I simply kept my HD500 as a backup unit. Like you, I always have a spare of everything so I understand where you are coming from. IMO... look for a cheap used "multi fx / amp sim" and program a few basic sounds into it to get you through a gig, I don't know how the used market is in your area, but for me I can buy anything with an amp sim in it (other than a flagship product) for dirt cheap. EG: A Zoom G series or Boss ME50/70 can be had for $100 give or take a little. A Line 6 XT/X3 Live can be found for $100 - $150, and an HD500 is $200 - $250, etc... etc... Even a brand new Zoom G1on is under $100, fits easily in any gig bag, and can produce sounds good enough to get you through a gig.

    Delay/snapshots on HX Effects

I thought but I didn't. :-( Everything looks logical in HX Edit and device Firmware 2.71. But note sync is either on or off for all snapshots with 1 delay block. I have to use 2 delay blocks in 1 preset as a workaround. 1 delay block for note sync applications and 1 delay block for fix delay times in ms.

Helix Lt with vintage fender twin reverb

Since you have no effects loop, have you tried using only the preamp of any of the amps?
