You do not need to buy a new amp to get the new features, including the ability to use any two effects (vs any effect + reverb). Just install the latest FW update. The only difference between the new and old amps is the silk-screening on the panel and the panel trim is SCREWED down! You'll also need to update the App. TRY IT, YOU"LL LIKE IT!

Hello guys. I need a little help. So, I have a HX stomp and a HX one, and I would like to make the two work together. I would like to be able to connect the HX one before the HX stomp and also the option to connect the HX one inside the HX stomp through Send and Return. I know I can do this using the HX one pre and post, but my question is, how do I make this work in stereo so I can use HX one stereo delays in an HX stomp block? Thanks!

Hi again, my problem is now solved and this as information if something like this will happen to you. I submitted a support ticket to Line6 and they replied with kind of same information as in the updating instructions found in these pages. One fellow member of TGP forum prompted me to put the usb cable in the usb port in the rear of the desktop and that helped. So now do I have the new firmware again :)

I was able to get tones today with the updated drivers via Cantabile (might work with Cakewalk, but haven't tried)! But...there is a nasty, loud, continuous hiss that I need to track down. Also, I think I'm hearing a dry/wet mix instead of full wet because the tones aren't nearly as saturated (don't sound good at all) as expected. Not sure where to find the settings for dry/wet mix. The input ports are stereo into helix, stereo out to main speakers, so maybe that setting is diluting the mix... More homework... Edited to add: super glitchy. Suddenly had no sound at all via headphones, but a dry signal was hitting the computer speakers. But there was a wet/dry mix knob. How convenient! I was provided a knob without sound. Closed and restarted, sound was back, mix knob gone. It is possessed! Anyone have a gallon of holy water? Bob

While I'd hope for Line6 to extend compatibility to Catalina, at least I hope they don't eventually drop it for HX Edit. I wouldn'like to have to spend ~2000€ on a new MacMini just to be able to update my Helix...

Hi! I came across this problem too, getting MIDI beat clock from Pro Tools. MBC works perfectly fine with delays and modulation fx which can be synced with it, no problem at all. only tremolo fx don't work 100% right. They do sync to the incoming tempo but the effect is not on the bar/beat. it seems that it just snaps anytime to the incoming tempo but ignores bar/beat and so it´s a hit or miss if the tremolo is in time or shifted by 1/16th, 1/32th,...

Thanks for the suggestions and links! Will take a look!

I will try POST for both (Delay and Reverb)....and experiment. And try to find that 'blues Rock' tone I am after (my song needs it). Funny you mentioned Buddy Guy (I am listening to his 'Blues Don't Lie' recent album right now). Always a pleasure. ....and no...I do not have the new Catalyst CX (if that is what you are referring to). I got the original Catalyst. No need for me to get additional amp settings. Or any downloads to do. Thank you for your help!! Much appreciated. Cheers!

Setting up POD X3 with Windows 10. What do I need?
silverhead replied to LadyGrinningSoul's topic in POD X3
Yes Line 6 Monkey is a utility that updates your firmware. You may need it, you may not. Pod Farm is the plugin (VST) processor. If you register your X3 in your Line 6 account you may find you have a bundled license for the original Pod Farm product (not v2.5). If not you will need to purchase it if you want to use it. -
Setting up POD X3 with Windows 10. What do I need?
LadyGrinningSoul replied to LadyGrinningSoul's topic in POD X3
Thanks for the reply, sliverhead. I discovered those drivers just a moment ago and was about to update my post. I'm kind of skeptical too, but hopeful. I've downloaded Gearbox and the Drivers v4.2.7.7. Will see what happens. Am I correct in recalling that Line6 Monkey was the overall installer and account manger program that made sure everything was registered and installed correctly, but and didn't do anything more than that? Do you know if all that is still necessary? I recall the Line6 account backend with the Monkey could sometimes be a problem. My account currently shows now registered products, but it's been years. And there was also a vst that pretty much duplicated inside the DAW the modeling that the physical X3 did internally? And that Gearbox was able to send patches between the device the DAW? As you can tell it's been a while since I used it, but I had great productive fun with it! This will be interesting! -
Setting up POD X3 with Windows 10. What do I need?
silverhead replied to LadyGrinningSoul's topic in POD X3
Surprisingly the Downloads area of this website lists X3 drivers for Win10 as well as a Win10 compatible version of Gearbox and Line 6 Monkey. Those are the pieces you will need to install. Colour me skeptical but perhaps it will all work! -
Hi. I have a POD X3. I know it is a legacy product and no longer supported. The last time I used it with a DAW was with a 32-bit Windows 7 machine. What drivers and other software are still available that I can download to make the POD more computer-aware, and to make my computer aware of the POD. Tbh, I don't recall the softwares I used with it under Windows 7, but there was Gearbox and POD Farm and something with Monkey.... But what all is available today for Windows 10 and 11, so I can get the most of the X3? Looking forward to using it again!! Thank you.

Is it possible to copy and past files?

I want to improve the sound and the weight of the amp so I will try a Celestion G12 NEO Creamback 8 Ohm. I think the amp has to work harder so mayby it never reach the 100 Watt level ;-) But start with your advice and start at 50 watt max.

Recording with Helix as Interface and changing tones
datacommando replied to rnrfantasy's topic in Helix
Hi, Here’s a video of Pete Thorn doing exactly what you are wanting to achieve - it’s referred to as reamping. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
No M9 settings can’t be imported into Helix. IRs can probably be imported if they are *.wav files.

From the manual, USB AUDIO section: Recording a Dry DI Track For this example, we’ll record guitar into two DAW tracks simultaneously, with one capturing the Helix-processed tone and the other the unprocessed DI guitar. 1. In the Helix Global Settings>Ins/Outs>Page 3 screen, set Re-amp Src (USB 7) to “Guitar” (as shown above). 2. Dial in your desired Helix tone, while keeping the Helix Input and Output blocks both set to the default “Multi” setting. 3. Create two new audio tracks in your DAW software project: Create one mono track to record the dry DI guitar, and set the track’s input to Helix USB 7. Continued...

Hi all...I'm new to the Helix Floor but have also started using it as my audio interface. I used to record using Bias FX 2, and I was able to change amps/etc. at will since I was using a plug-in and the guitar signal was recorded dry. If I'm using the Helix for my guitar tones how can I do that? Won't I be committing that certain guitar sound/amp when I record it? Some other info...I record on a Mac Mini, using Logic and Reaper. Thanks!
