    Yamaha SPX90 Symphonic preset

Hi shawnt113, I have an early Yamaha SPX90 in a rack, gathering dust in the corner of my studio! I would probably have to give “it the kiss of life” and spark the thing up to check the settings, and no guarantee of figuring it out, but it maybe worth finding out! IIRC, it was like some sort of multi voice chorus effect. A big fave of Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois Back in the 80s along with that AMS shimmer and Eventide H3000. To get that ensemble sound you could try using a big 70s chorus and the legacy “dimension” to get you in the ball park. I may investigate further.

Helix Lt with vintage fender twin reverb

Congratulations! By buying a Helix you've stepped boldly into the modern world! By pairing it with a Fender Twin you've succeeded in booting yourself 50 years into the past! While the Twin is a great amp, it's use with Helix reduces the Helix to a fancy pedalboard. Almost any effect you've ever wanted to put IN FRONT of your tube amp. You don't even have an effects loop! By using the Helix with your PA you're getting closer to maximizing it's features. You can now use it to create complete rigs - amps, cabs, effects loops, the whole nine yards. Getting it to sound good is, as you've discovered, challenging, especially if your point of reference is one of the world's greatest clean tube amps. Start by checking out Jason Sadite's YouTube videos. Lots of tips and tricks and he's a great teacher. However, if that doesn't get you there, and if you can't find a single decent sounding preset, either from the factory or in any of the aftermarket packages, you might want to consider that maybe the modern world isn't for you. Else, maybe you need to sell your Helix and get a Fractal or a KPA. I don't mean to be insulting or discouraging, but not everybody likes Fords, some prefer Chevies! And a LOT of GREAT music has been made with a Twin and a Tube Screamer!

Helix Lt with vintage fender twin reverb

Sooooo I purchased a helix LT about 4 months ago and have purchased sound bundles on line (won't name because I don't wanna offend anyone). I play two main guitars, one is an american made strat and the other is a Les Paul custom. My amp is an original Fender twin reverb loaded with EV force 12's. I had researched the helix for months prior to making the substantial purchase and am really disappointed in not only the factory patches that came with the unit but the purchased created patches are no better. I've tried running thru the PA with a powered 1500 watt on each side and the tone is the same. Nasty, dirty tones. I too have watched countless videos on proper placement on building signal chains and have built a decent clean patch but as I suspect most struggle with the endless search for that great overdrive lead tone. The fender twin has a great clean tone on its own as we all know. The best combination I have been able to achieve is simply using the helix as a peddle board run into the twin reverb. I can't help but suspect I am doing something wrong here because the tones I am hearing in videos isn't even close to what I have been able to achieve with this pricey helix. I play world class guitars, have a vintage amp guitarists drool over and I can't get a decent sounding factory OR bought patch produced from the unit nor can I though pretty darn good PA speakers. Have had several processors and am a seasoned pro player so this isn't my first rodeo but it is my first helix. Someone PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME HERE! I was hoping this would finally end my relentless years of a tone I would really enjoy. Thx!

Timeline "Ice" algo in the HX Stomp?

Yes and no. You have to combine a delay with the legacy reverb named <<particle verb>> and set condition to hazard.
  9. hi, ive loaded song and put numbers in front as to this is the order i want them played in i use windows 10.i use thumb drive it looks good.i put it in m20d there all out of order is there a trick to keeping them in order?
  10. I am looking to use POD Farm to help clean up a simple USB headset mic. Some day I will get a good mic and interface but for now I just need to do some narration of a PPT presentation and would like the sound to be better. Any ideas?
  11. Is it coming? Has it come and I don't see it?

Timeline "Ice" algo in the HX Stomp?

I think you will need to post an audio clip. Not everyone has a Strymon

    Helix Owner's Manual erratum - Let's help Line6!

You do realize there won't be another manual update until 3.0, right? Line 6 has long established that manual revision publications will only occur with major firmware releases. So I'm not sure what you hope to accomplish with this effort except to provide those that come across this thread with some additional information.

Timeline "Ice" algo in the HX Stomp?

Hi everyone, just wondering if there's a delay effect in the HX Stomp that comes close to the Strymon Timeline's Ice algo? Adriatic seems kinda similar, but maybe I'm missing something more obvious?

If anyone knows how to get a dump from the Helix Floor screen, please post the answer here.

The screenshot is from Helix Native - not a Helix device.

  19. If Samsung does release an eventual Android Pie for the S7, hopefully that will bring host mode goodness. Still some articles being released that while it might be less likely, it's still possible Pie is coming to the S7.

You'll be happy to hear that Sweetwater has asked for more modeling articles. They've already accepted one on how to bi-amp the Helix, and I'm submitting another one with more general Helix tips next week. It usually takes 2-4 weeks before they're published on the site, depending on the editorial cycle. They tell me the Helix is doing very well for them. :)

Thanks for the additional tip! Yes, amp volume works well too. The main reason I use buttons is for diagnostic purposes when creating presets, so it's helpful to have them all available on in one view.

I remember enjoying the live sound related @craiganderton articles on Sweetwater. So I went to Sweetwater's inSync author page and I only see one modeling article. Would love to see more. Welcome to the forum.

Advice on live setup with Helix LT.

Thankyou both for your replies, after doing some thinking then i'm considering going down the route of using mixed MP3's, which would mostly be drums and synth, that would leave me with using Maschine and a guitar, looking at using DI boxes for simplicity, i understand that using software for the whole thing would work but i'm not very skilled at that and think that by using a more simplistic setup then if something goes wrong i should be able to fix it, what do you think? also do any of you happen to know if i would be able to trigger samples in maschine from the Helix board? idreally i would load MP'3 files into maschine, then trigger them to start with my feet! Thanks again for any thoughts.

Odd preset after updated to 2.71 on HX Effects

So after updating several months ago, a few days ago my entire HX Effects unit went dead on me. Had a friend figure it out, but we uninstalled and went back to 2.70 version and bingo, all came alive again. I was one happy dude. Really odd but glad my friend found it. Hope you don't have same problem but if so, reinstall 2.70. thx

    Fremen's Helix presets

Nice blues riffing and presets. Have you tried CBD cream or oil for the tendonitis? A guitar-playing friend of mine swears by it. You can't smoke it, though.
  26. Yup...sometimes these devices just get weird and can't walk and chew gum at the same time. I haven't had this specific issue, but occasionally some other odd behavior will appear out of nowhere with one particular patch, and the only solution seems to be rebuilding it from scratch... so far, that's been an effective solution. Time consuming and annoying, but effective. ;)

Tip: Make a Mute Button for Multiple Paths

I've been doing this for awhile on all my multi-amp patches. Works like a charm and you can mess with it via snap shots. Although you can do the same with the volume on the amp and control via snaps as well. its been 50/50 lately.
