  3. Are you using any amp model in the POD Express? Normally you don’t use a typical electric guitar amp with an acoustic guitar because it’s hard to get a clean acoustic tone. However, you could try using the cleanest amp model (Princeton?). To minimize the tone coloration keep the Gain low and the Channel Volume high. But the tone may still not be as clean as you want for an acoustic guitar. In that case you could try using an external preamp to boost the signal before it reaches the POD input, and turn the POD amp model OFF. Often an acoustic guitar that has pickups also has an onboard preamp; try increasing the volume level. Otherwise you may need to obtain a studio preamp that minimizes any tone colouring.
  4. Hi silverhead, thanks for your reply! First, I du not mean mono or single tone, but the input being mono or stereo. Next to the input level knob, it shows one input in my stand alone version, and two in my VST version in reaper. Second, Fiddling with the input level helped a lot indeed! Weird, because the level I observed in both versions was the same. But it worked, so I won't question it. Thanks! Best, Johannes
  5. Register your guitar in your account, then log a support ticket. Also, check with Line 6 authorized service i your area. https://line6.com/find/service_center/
  6. Ah, yeah. That could work. So Preset 2 would have copies of itself but with the default snapshot set differently. Thanks.
  7. Hello, I've been recording some acoustic in my POD Express and I have to raise the gain in my DAW just to hear it. Is there any workarounds for this in the pedal to bring acoustics to the proper level? Thanks.
  8. If I'm understanding you correctly, you would have to dedicate a button to each iteration of the preset you wanted. i.e. One button with snapshot X and preset 2 and another one with snapshot y and preset 2.
  9. The question is actually quite simple and the answer is even more simple: no. With external MIDI hardware you combine MIDI PC for the preset and CC#69 for snapshot. There is no HX internal equivalent for that AFAIK.
  10. This may not be possible, so the full question is: "Is it possible to set a stomp box button to navigate from whatever preset/snapshot I am using to another preset WITH a specifc snapshot selected?" I know that using the Command Centre I can make stomp mode button take me from whichever preset I am in and whichever snapshot I am in to another preset OR to another snapshot within the current preset, but I can't see a way to select which snapshot is loaded when moving to another preset. For absolute clarity, say I am using Preset 1 and have the board set to stomp mode with one of my footswitches set to take me to Preset 2, is there any way to have that take me to Snapshot X from Preset 2? I know that I can set the default snapshot on any preset, but that would limit the flexibility of this, say I wanted a button that takes me to Snapshot X of Preset 2 from Preset 1 and another to take me to Snapshot Y of Preset 2 from Preset 1.... Any way to do it using MIDI controls, but no external gear? If no direct way? Probably a long winded way of asking this... sorry!
  11. What I'm trying to do is input a preset of my Iridium into an Hx effect preset's signal flow via midi. Example, if I go to a preset that I want distortion on with my other effects, Id like the hxfx to tell my iridium to switch to the "punch" preset that I've made. I want to add a midi block for the "punch" channel from my iridium into my signal flow within the Hxfx preset. So ultimately, id like to control it with either a snapshot or a footswitch and i'd love to learn how to do both. What I have tried: Set up my Iridium for receiving midi messages. At which point i reach a stage in the process where the manual states the iridium needs to receive a PC message which I haven't figured out how to do from the Hxfx. I've been reading up and trying to research this but I haven't found anything that's been the solution. I have gone into global settings in the hxfx to send a pc message but (at least to my mind) I'm not finding the Hxfx's manual to be useful in helping me figure out how to send the PC message to a Strymon pedal. I'm running into a focusrite 3rd gen scarlett solo and I'm using Windows 11. I have read the manuals in those sections, it's just not connecting in my brain. I have looked over the MIDI CC#s in the Iridium manual and ive set the CC parameters to what I think is correct and the Iridium doesn't respond to the settings I've entered. Thanks for responding!
  12. Did you get this to work? I'm wanting to do the same thing but with my Strymon Iridium. The part that confuses me most is in the manual for the iridium it states that it needs a PC message for it to progress in the midi setup.
  13. You can use snapshots for this. Toggle or step through snapshots in Stomp Mode by assigning a snapshot command to a footswitch in Command Center.
  14. Yes, I did experiment with both of these options, however this uses two switches instead of one. I wanted toggle for program changes.
  15. Sunset is an external overdrive pedal by Strymon. I have ten different OD voicing presets saved in the pedal. I want to press stomp xl foot switch to turn the desired preset on then press that same switch to turn it off.
  16. There is no unloading presets. You can load presets via MIDI PC messages and switch bypass A, B or A+B via MIDI CC messages. Read the Sunset's manual to find out more. You can of course create a preset on the Sunset where A and B are bypassed and load that preset to turn the Sunset "off".
  17. I don’t understand what you’re getting at. Perhaps it’s just terminology. Is ‘Sunset’ the name of a preset, an FX block, or something else? You talk about turning a preset on and off. That’s confusing. At all times there is exactly one preset that is active (don’t think of it as being ‘on’). The active preset is replaced by a different preset (not ‘turned off’) when you activate/select a different preset. You can turn FX blocks within a preset on and off. You don’t turn presets on and off; you activate/select them. There is always exactly one preset active at all times.

  19. Is it just me or does the new Grammatico GSG sound bad? I really like the new voicings that come with version2 except this one. What I get is a tone that's low volume, distroted, dark sounding and muffled. It sounds the same with 2 different guitars. I added boost and played with the EQ and other things. I had to make some pretty big swings to make it sound just O.K. In the sound sample video from Line 6, it sounds excellent. Bright and clean. The guitar in the video is on the bridge pickup. Am I missing something?
  20. I’m trying to program a foot switch to turn a Sunset preset on and off. The command center Bank/Program will engage the preset but not turn it off. I can do this through snap shots but not stomp mode. How can I do this? I’d like to use a different switch for different sunset sounds.
  21. Is it possible to buy the saddle as a sparer part somewhere. Mine is broken
  22. I think I worked it out. I neeeded to change this setting to Stomp 8? I think that's working! For anyone else looking at the thread, going into Global Settings -> Footswitches there is an option called FS8 Function. The choices are ToggleEXP (which is default), then AllBypass, SnpshtDn, SnpshtUp, PresetDn, PresetUp, Bank Dn, Bank Up, Stomp 8, TAP/Tunr. Stomp 8 turns it the footswitch on the MIssion into "just another button", rather than one which switches between EXP1 and EXP2. You can then assign the bypass options on both blocks to Footswitch 8. Then assign the EXP1 to BOTH positions on the wah and the volume pedal. This means that when you move the wah position, it moves BOTH the position of the volume block and the wah block, but if you set those blocks so one is on and the other is off, pressing the mission footswitch swaps which is active! NICE! This means, that if you've a snapshot where you want one effect to be active on the Mission, and another footswitch with a different one, you can just set the correct block to be active in the snapshot, and the mission will just control it properly. I wonder why it doesn't work like this by default?
  23. This is such helpful information. Thank you! And thanks also for the links you provided! The cab volume was just helpful in increasing overall volume without sacrificing tone or increasing gain. Some of the models sound nice and clear right out of the box, whereas others seem to be quiet, muddy, or tone suck-y without tinkering. I'm finding that increasing cab volume as a first step (just to get the Db on the same level as other amps) before troubleshooting to be helpful.
  24. What I proposed is an alternative way. The manual endorses ToggleEXP but that can lead to sync problems with snapshots. You need to set Global Settings -> Footswitches -> FS8 to FS8 Function (and not ToggleEXP) for this to work. The idea is that one block is on at a time while the other is off - FS8 (toe switch) toggles between them. EXP1 controls the Position of both blocks at all times but it is only heard in the block that is currently enabled/not bypassed.
  25. Yes, I've read the manual and that is how I was configuring it originally, except that I wasn't using a volume pedal block. That wasn't the question though. I have a different issue in that I want to be able to rely on when changing snapshots that I know what the Mission is controlling but I'm not sure if that's actually possible! My confusion is that the first reply suggested something which appears to contradict the manual, hence why I'm confused.
  26. Uninstalling and reinstalling solved my problem! On W11 Reaper shows audio inputs and outputs. Thanks!
