  1. Hey guys, I've made a short and simple IR loading tutorial for the Helix. It's mainly geared towards beginners but I also explain how I choose my OwnHammer IR's. I hope this helps some of the guys who are new to the platform and/or OwnHammer.

  2. Getting back into my JTV-89 after not using it since I got my Helix. I know it must need to be updated with new firmware, I registered it with Line 6 in 2014, but it is failing to connect to my Windows 10 PC (which works great for Helix) via USB. So it sounds great thru the Helix via DVI, but I cannot get Line 6 Monkey to see it, I do have the latest 1.74 Monkey. Going into the Line 6 DVI/USB box directly into my PC Line 6 Monkey can't see the guitar but it does work with the latest WorkbenchHD, which sees the guitar just fine.. I do get both green lights on the box, but still can't connect to update firmware. I don't see any drivers to download. Any ideas?

  4. I agree with the 6 snapshot view, it would be perfect to change presets in the preset mode, and then the unit automaticaly change to a similar stompobox mode view but instead having 6 snapshot views of a preset. This would be great. I think that this is a software issue that line 6 can solve it.

  5. The reset process doesn’t work after 2.0 firmware. You need to use the firmware update process to overwrite what is on the guitar. Then I strongly suggest tuning the global string levels: in Workbench HD it is a menu option - reduce the level for each string until you can hear it having an effect when you pluck as hard as you would playing, then raise it slightly. 10db is quite common for the wound strings, but it will eliminate much of the built in compressor effect and the modelling will sound much more natural.

  6. Thank you for sharing this. This is an area I admittedly know very little about.

  7. Thanks guys ! :) Not Helix related, but related to my Pink Floyd cover band, where the second guitar player uses my Helix : a "Great gig in the sky" cover by our new backing vocalist. I wanted to share that musical moment with you. It's a first take, and we didn't want to fix the very few vocal blurps

  8. Hi, I have had the same problem with an Amplifi 150: 4 blinking LED and no LED around the main button. No sound produced by any way(direct plug guitar, bluetooth, USB). Strange, all the other fuctions are working. Bluetooth OK, USB OK (Amplifi seen by the PC), firmware upgrade working. I have opened my amplifier. All pover supply voltage OK. By the way, it is possible to convert from 220V to 115V by adding a jumper (I've moved from Europe to the US: no more transformer !!!) I had to buy a main board and replace the old one. Amplifi is running again! (cost: $125, not happy) I have noticed a Micro SD memory card. When removed, nothing is working. I have removed this Micro SD from my NEW BOARD, made a COPY to the Micro SD on the OLD board and reinstalled back to the OLD board. Then upgraded software. Guess what: the original (OLD) main PC board is working again on the Amplifi. The problem is only a software problem. Hint: I have made a copy of the new Micro SD for the future. Yours, André

  9. Ok...I've been doing this for FORTY YEARS. I'm no "stranger" to this. I've owned just about every "PC Interface" compatible multi-FX, and NEVER, not ONCE, did the unit NOT come with Windows Editing Software....NOT ONCE, that is until NOW. I'm not confused AT ALL! So whatever you guys THINK is completely irrelevant. Reality says you don't advertise a "PC" compatible product without including PC Editing software - EVER. It's just BAD BUSINESS... Take that for what it's worth. I've probably been doing this longer than both of you have been alive... And what "just starting" posted is RIGHT about what the post from the other topic says...they'd sell more if it was what it was advertised to be...a PC compatible product.

  10. I had the same issue on my iPhone SE but only with headphones with microphone. When I use headphones without microphone random clicking gone :-) The problem not exists on 30 pin connections (iPad2 or iPhone 4s). This is problem on lightning hardware. Edit: The problem exists on some iPhones. http://skaa.com/media/1244/lightning-audio-bug-in-newer-iphones-112616.pdf

  11. Loving the Helix. Created some cab IRs from a Friedman 2x12 (vintage 30s). Wanted to share them with the community. http://www.studiocat...an_2x12_cab.zip Three basic mic positions for most of the IRs. 1 = center 2 = edge of cap 3 = cone 1o = center off-axis 2o = edge of cap off-axis 3o = cone off-axis Multiple mics were used (SM57, SM7b, MD421, RE20, RE320, C414). The center positions are bright. If that's not to your liking, make sure to try the other positions. Enjoy!

  12. This isn't the only issue I'm running into. 1. Try saving one of your tones to "My Tones", logging into the web portal and finding it. It won't be there. 2. Also, when I'm saving tones, why do they duplicate and triplicate...? If I do a "Save Tone", the expected behavior should be to overwrite, otherwise I should pick "Save As" 3. Why aren't our models listed? I see the HD500X, and Helix, but no Firehawk FX or Amphi FX100? Glad I'm in my 30-day return window, because it may be going back. I'm not going to be an owner of a product they don't fully support.
