  1. Line 6 doesn't patrol the user forum for ideas. They have an Ideascale website for submitting ideas. Try setting expression pedal curve to logarithmic to see if it is closer feel for you. Default is linear.

  2. I enjoy seeing other folks' gear and studios, so I figured I'd share mine. I have my Kemper feeding into my Helix which in turn feeds into the mixer when I play without headphones. The mixer feeds a second "zone" mixer under my monitor, which in turn feeds the studio monitors in one zone and my pair of L3t's in a second zone, that way I can easily control the levels. Helix also serves as my computer audio interface. Yes, my computer is an old 2009 Mac Pro cheese grater. It still works decently, though, after I upgrade the drives to SSD and added a bunch of memory. So at the touch of a button, I can play through the Kemper or the Helix amp models. Often, I'll disable able the effects in the Kemper and incorporate it into one of my Helix patches with a send/return block where the amp/cab would normally go. This sounds really great. Kemper sounds very good on its own, though, too. Guitars are a Suhr Modern T and a Les Paul Standard HP (2017). The bass is a Schecter Hellraiser (and it does :-)). It's hard to see it on top of the UPS to the left of my computer, but I have a Relay G10 sitting there that feeds the Helix - wireless is wonderful. On the floor is the Helix, of course, the Kemper remote, a BeatBuddy drum pedal, a Trio+ band-in-a-box, and a 3-button USB foot controller that I use for record/play/stop control Logic. Other stuff on the shelf is my Boss SY-300 which I need to get hooked back up, my Mel9, FreqOut, a little Marshal Code 25, my Peterson tuner (fed first by my Relay G10), my Suhr Reactive Load box that I use for profiling amps with the Kemper, and a Laney IronHeart 15w tube amp. Bottom shelf is another UPS for my gear and a Boss Loopstation RC-300. On the other side behind me are my L3t's, my electronic drum kit (silent through headphones - yay! - I'm still married and not divorced). The drum kit can also feed the L3t's if I want to play it without headphones. There's my old Spider IV 150 head on top of the two 4x12's. Next to that is my Marshall DSL40C combo. I don't play those much anymore, but I fired them up last weekend when a friend from this forum came over and we both agreed they still sound pretty darn good! That old Spider IV kind of surprised us both at how good it sounded through those cabinets. The guitar in the corner is a Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid Solo II with a Floyd Rose. That's a very nice guitar, but it's in time-out - needs some setup work. Not in the photos is a 61 key MIDI keyboard on a keyboard X stand. I don't play keyboards, but it's handy for tapping in drum beats into EZDrummer and experimenting with various virtual instruments.

  3. Nice Grab! Helix Native is fantastic, I use it when I ReAmp, and my Helix Rack for dry recording & wet monitoring. I am so happy Line 6 decided to release Helix in plugin format. That is one of the reasons why I still won't go Fractal even though I read that the Axe FX III is a fantastic piece of hardware. They don't have a plugin for the Axe FX family available, and for the price they ask, they really should have that cross-over capability. Having a plugin expansion from the hardware is such a convenient thing for me. I got mine for the $99 when it first released. I think I got it at a great price as well, even though I think it is worth much more than that.

  4. My own internal heuristics based on experience chose those numbers at semi random. And they're both prime. However, a little while ago, I became anonymous again, and this time it only took 8 refreshes. I still contend the median number of times required to refresh to regain identity lies between 11 and 23. Until proven otherwise. :-)

  5. Stand by to be told that you cannot run them both at the same time... however, I've done it numerous times without an issue. I'm guessing it depends on how much horsepower the computer has...I'm running everything on MacBook Pro with 16GB of RAM, and it works for me. As far as "danger" is concerned... I can't see any. They'll either both work, or they won't, but I can't imagine anything is gonna burst into flames. Never bothered trying to use HX Edit to trigger anything in Workbench... I'm either using one or the other. But I've had them both open and functioning plenty of times.

  6. Basically how it worked for me is: 1. I went to the Line 6 website to downloads -> "all software" drop-down menu -> "Drivers" 2. Lookup the correct update number in my Line 6 Monkey under "Newest" update 3. Scrolled down quite a bit in the Drivers section on the website until I found the correct update (in my case 4.2.7.6 which corresponds to the UX2 toneport updates as listed on that page) 4. Downloaded and installed the correct driver 5. Started up my Pod farm and directly got an license error, so I chose (in the error box) the license manager button 6. License manager opened automatically and my UX2 device was listed under "DEVICES" 7. Shut down my Pod farm and started it up again. Then it worked fine.

  7. @highline, if you ever find out the magic equation let me know. I've had Wah pedals at different spots on different boards and can sonically range the 'never want to switch it on' awful tone to the 'never want to switch it off' awesomeness. I'll find that different overdrives will react differently to it and God knows no two Wah manufacturers or even models act the same. I will say that I settled on a Crybaby GCB95Q because the ability to control the range of filter makes a massive difference. But still, it can sound like crap before my JHS moonshine or like crap after my Strymon Riverside so a dark art. I would say if you can use a send/return block do it (assuming Wah is a big part of your sound) because you have the flexibility per preset to move the thing around and then lock in what works with that combo. Seriously though. Another option would just to set toe position to Engage on an expression. Have the exp in heel when you don't want the sound and then it's almost like a toe click to engage minus the tactile click. Or like me, just use the too right foot switch to engage or Disengage Wah. It's just slightly different muscle memory to learn.
