  1. As for Variax roadmap, thought this press release from March was interesting, also might explain why there has been no release activity on Variax, looks like Yamahaa and Line6 have been busy integrating they Guitar divisions into one. Sounds to me like they are doubling down and investing, should be exciting to see what comes out of that?

  2. And they have something like this, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patent , I guess ;-) I really do believe that L6 can't complain about competition - my impression so far, they are competitive in a positive way...

  3. There are two sets of Global Settings that affect the external footswitches. There's one in "Preferences" as well as "Footswitches". You have to make sure you have EXP/FS Tip set to Footswitch 4 as well as selecting what you want FS4 to do.

  6. The Helix has two excellent Leslie effects, the Leslie 122 and the Leslie 145, so yes, it can.

  7. I process two-voice guitar with Stomp. Acoustic and Electric at the same time from the same instrument. The same principle would work. However, with only 6 blocks, you will end up being really limited. One or both of the players might end up really frustrated. If it's simple acoustic guitar on one side and bass on the other? I think it could work okay.

  8. Thanks! I didn't get the sarcasm, I do now... there needs to be a sarcasm font... My presets for Acoustic (and multi-voice) for Helix and Stomp are all ready to go, uploaded, waiting for Line 6 to push the button for final release! hopefully in the next day or 2.

  9. I know this is older but for anyone new. I personally like the legacy effects. Especially the reverbs.

  10. To me what you're describing sounds normal. It's hard to know what exactly you're hearing "buzz" wise, but if the original amp has it, the model does too. One thing I like to make sure people know about, most of the amp models have some interesting parameters meant to simulate these sounds. For example, the "hum" parameter recreates the actual hum of an amp. I'd make sure you've toyed around with the hum, bias, bias x, sag, drive, and other settings on each amp to see how they react to see if it's related to the buzz you're hearing. Also, keep in mind that the Helix has a built in noise gate which you can activate to reduce a bunch of additional fuzziness - useful in the same way a traditional noise gate is useful.

  11. I own one of these speakers. Its the best in my opinion, it replicates what you miss most from an amp. That bloomy, compressed cab sound you cant get out of anything but a real cabinet. Except this, does it, and very well......

  12. I put the loop in the first block of the signal chain last week and did just the same as you and it's pretty useful cos' you can really dig into your tones just listening to them. Other thing I do is to REAMP via USB into my DAW, and I loop the dry guitar recorded in my daw and tweak my tone until I find it's good. Checkout this video from Line 6: bossgx700:Hope you find this useful.

  13. FIXED! OK, spaceatl gets the gold star for thinking it was likely a cable way back in the beginning of the thread, I finally got a chance to try the rig out at practice using a monster cable we had laying around.... and <poof!> noise gone. Wow. SOOOOOOO weird cuz my old cable otherwise works fine going direct in to my amp, or direct into the pod & headphones... but add the Pad and amp together and it's noise-city!. OK, good to know. Thanks for the suggestion. I can't complain about my cable tho, it was a Spectraflex 20ft cable I got as a gift back in 1991 and has been thru years of gigging across Europe. It had a lifetime warranty tho! LOL. Cheers!
