  1. Hi ! I've discovered a Digitech pedal, that could be really intersting to add into Helix. The FreqOut creates natural feedback, and I really miss this on the Helix... am I the only one ?? Do you know if it's possible to create this kind of fx ? Or Line6 friends... why not to add on the Helix on next update ?? Regards !! Jimmy

  2. Hey Guys, Today I have the explanation of the "Architects," tone I posted a few days ago. I had a lot of fun with this one. I used two Ownhammer Impulses OH 412 TRAD V70 121-00 and OH 412 TRAD V60 OH1F-05 Thanks so much for all the support, positive comments and input.

  3. After you select the footswitch as the controller, go to Bypass/Controller Assign tab. Then click on the line on the left hand side of the screen that says "Variax - Variax Model - Footswitch #". Then you'll see the parameter bars for the min and max settings show up. I think there's a bug in HX Edit regarding this as the Preset Variax Model doesn't show in the pulldown menu on the Bypass/Controller Assign tab. But selecting it from the list of all controllers on the left is an easy workaround.

  5. You mean alternate tunings with a standard guitar? I don't see that ever happening, to be honest. Polyphonic pitch shifting will probably happen, but real-time pitch shifting for each string, well, that would be quite a feat.

  6. Hi DW, I’ve recently been looking for a practice speaker solution to use with my FHFX. I practice at home in a small bedroom and didn’t want to spend hundreds on a speaker I’d turn up to 2. After talking to several “experts” (see salesmen) who were always pushing a high priced, and a much larger speaker, I opted for a pair of studio monitors. They are designed to deliver flat response at room friendly volume, and the FHFX delivers the amp sound to them. I’m very happy with the results. No matter what I would have decided, I always would have to tweak settings when I get to my church. Different room acoustics (very different!) and going through our PA system is impossible to create at home. The monitors give a representation of what the Firehawk feeds, from there I can work with our sound tech to blend in as best we can. At anywhere from $100-$300, it’s an inexpensive way to get great sound out of your Firehawk. Consider it as an option, you may want more volume or have other desires for your speaker. Best of luck!

  7. Hope Line6 take their time with the release and get round to improving the Routing options: eg. Send / Return blocks to and from USB, or Send blocks to 1/4in or XLR, and how more about Path output options: eg. Multi 2 "1/4 and USB", "Multi 3 "XLR and USB", or even better - a user assignable "User Multi" so you can choose which outputs it gets sent to. Much better for those of us trying to do fun stuff on our Helix with iPads or Computers and MIDI Guitar / synths / FX plugins / loopers and all that. Or just simply trying to send to stage amp via 1/4in and bypass the IR / Cab block without wasting a whole path output for it

  8. A small minority of users have issues with EVERY new firmware release. As cruisinon2 said rock, with what ya got and deal with issues IF they arise. Also please note - the vast majority of that small minority's issues are caused by failure to RTFM!

  9. Here’s a decent example of a setup using only 6 blocks:

  10. For me it's not about having a long signal chain for one sound, but having the fast switching between heavy gain/clean and trails for ambient FX without a gap in the patches. I was checking one out for a backup board, but I'd be either having to use actual patch switching with a noticeable gap, or cut out stuff that's important in either clean or drive tones to use snapshots, on top of compromising which FX I'm using in current presets. There is something to be said about giving yourself a box to work in and maximizing what you can do inside it, for sure, but I've already defined the box I'm working in.

  11. Just had a Headrush FRFR-108 delivered. Not had much of a chance to play with it, but it has a much better build quality than I'd imagined, as I'd expected it to be quite flimsy plastic. It is small, well constructed, and reassuringly weighty for its size. It's also epically loud!

  12. Absolutely correct. I just prefer to have more contouring options in order to be able to adapt the speaker to different scenarios. Especially if the speaker is going to be used as a main front which is what you were referring to. A high pass adjustment is only one of many contouring options I've found to be useful in these type of powered speakers. One I've used often is the case in smaller, more intimate venues where there is no sub and it's not necessary to put the instruments through the PA, is to position my speaker behind me on a half height pole and remove the high pass filter. In effect giving me a fuller low end to compensate for the lack of a sub and have my powered speaker act almost more like an augmented speaker to the PA for the guitar or keyboard. I use it quite a bit that way for open mic and jam nights.

  13. Obsidian is OK for metal, but its too brittle and shrill (my opinion) for R&B, rock, pop, etc. We need Helix bass preamp models such as REDDI, Avalon, Firefly, Sans Amp, etc.

  14. Arislaf, Nope, no real worries here! As a U.S. veteran of an immensely unpopular foreign war (Vietnam), I think it's safe to say that many, if not MOST Americans, would likely agree with your sentiments on this, particularly with respect to Vietnam, the Falkland Islands, Nicaragua, Desert Storm (Kuwait), Iraq, Syria, perhaps even Afghanistan? The sad fact is, Americans are absolutely masterful at hindsight. However, much like me, I suspect those same Americans would argue that the two World Wars were a completely different story. Anyway, there you have it! Now, if the moderators here so-choose, they can ban us both! And if they do, I'll quickly and gladly return my Helix. Haa! ;-) However, I WOULD support the moderator's, if they chose to permanently close this thread, because as others have duly noted, it is not (was not) intended to be a political topic or a political arena.

  15. Risking to get banned, but i wonder if those 《heroes 》stuck in their countries how many wars would be avoided. Meaning fight for their countries in their countries, rather than killing in the name of their countries, in another countries. And i don't speak for american 《heroes》 only, about french, british, russian, and all those countries that sent those 《heroes》 to kill exotic people... Out of topic just thinking loud wish the risk of ban.
