Hi New version in Helix so a new version of my Cheat Sheet, Line6 Helix Model Summary, for the one who like it on a printed sheet or as a file on your PC/MAC. Have added the new models in 2.80 firmware. They are in the order of appearance on the unite. Same format as before. Don't you mean 'not really what I am waiting for'? Not sure how you can extrapolate to 'most people'. I happen to prefer the Grammatico and am certainly not waiting for another high-gain amp/channel.

Hi. Installed 2.8 without problems. But there's a bug with the expression pedal. Whenever I engage the wah then go to another snapshot or preset. Exp 1 stays on. It won't go back to exp 2. I have exp 2 assigned to volume. Exp 1 is set to snapshot and exp 2 to global

same problem here... stays in de "boot failure entered update mode nothing worked for me... men this sucks bi time...:(

Same issue here. I opened a ticket on it and will update as I hear more.

I'm on the same mac version and after upgrading to 2.8 my recordings were just gibberish. I installed the 2.8 driver from the line 6 website and after a reboot, all is well.

After loading the preset did you restart the Helix? If not.... the preset will not have been updated from it's original version to the new format.

once the blinking tap tempo switch is enabled, the problem disappears, indeed. But I always turn off the tap tempo led

It's not a matter of how many amps do I need, it's a matter of do I have the amp that will do what I need, for a particular song (And you could also say for a particular guitar, with a particular pick-up, etc).That's right, I use the Helix in a recording studio, and I don't "fix it in the mix" with plug-ins. By your logic, Line 6 should stop development and consider the Helix complete and move on. Because according to you, we have "plenty", and should just "make do".

It's clearly a balance. I don't feel bad telling Line 6 I'd love a polyphonic drop pedal, for example, but I am not at all feeling short changed.

Have you considered some of us use the Helix in a studio setting? I don't really think it matters what ones use of the Helix is, as a Line 6 Helix customer I give my feedback so they have a clearer picture of what I want. And remember the only comment in the entire topic post that is truly negative is yours and yours alone.

Hi Alex, I had a look on the Line 6 Support > Manuals> Computer section and it seems that the document has not been updated yet. Yep. That's using only the 12" speaker in the cab, so you are basically listening the nature of the speaker, without any mic/sim involved. Any amp block sounds good with that configuration, but there is also another motive for that; speaker models are all leveled down to average 15db, so they are A LOT quieter than LF Flat and LF RAW. I've seen that I need my Helix and PC+, both with main volume to twelve o clock for LF-raw, and that's already plenty of juice. To obtain a similar feeling I need to crank up the Helix to max, when using the speaker simulations on the PC+, otherwise any tone would sound much thinner (Fletcher - Munson).

I suggest you open a support ticket to bring this to Line 6's attention. It sounds like a bug.

I dont get people its like you go to a great all you can eat restaurant and complain that a certain dish isnt there.How much more do you so called, I dont mean to criticize, people want?Do you guys use all of these amps when you gig? Or are you a stay at home guy who just wants to play in a music store amp section.Every amp for every type of music is in the helix since I bought it everything else is a very nice addition.I need to spend 3500 4000 for the type of amps and effects I want to use the helix gives it all to me at a quarter of the price.

Fixed - I had to de-auth it on my account page, then re-auth, since I'd changed the name of my laptop since it was last authorised. That auth screen is utterly unhelpful!

Probably a overall solution, to do before any action on the Helix, could be to install the new Edit package with Helix not connected at all, then reboot the PC, connect the Helix and install the update.

As stated above.... if you are trying to update your Helix to 2.8.... follow the instructions, don't try and go it alone! If you are not trying to update to 2.8 and have other intentions... I suspect you may have downloaded the Windows versions to your Mac.

Thanks for sharing. I’ll need to find an old computer to try this out. Agree. This upgrade is their worst ever. I’ve never had a worse experience with upgrades. Makes even Windows look good.

Great work on the updated spreadsheet! I, too, have looked for up-to-date lists from Line 6 and really appreciate this. I'm attempting to share a modified version of it that contains a page for each category (in addition to the 'Master' list provided)... Helix 2.80 Model List

A different cable is the first thing I'd try.

After updating to 2.80, my expression pedal 2 didn't function at all. I realized this with about 4 hours before a gig, glad I did at least. Was looking for a way to calibrate it, till I remembered the Helix is supposed to do that automatically. Couldn't find a fix and am now back to 2.71. The expression pedal back to normal. Very hesitant to try the update again at this point, since I rely on that pedal a lot.

May I see the data behind that statement?

Helix Rack+Control, 2.8 BUG: I don’t have this available on my Globals Pedal Position Indicator Helix Floor, Helix Rack/Control A new Global Settings > Displays > Pedal Position Display parameter lets you determine whether the scribble strip above the expression pedal temporarily displays the expression pedal position ("Temporary") or remains visible ("Persistent").

HELIX LT 2.80 After restoring my presets, expression pedal settings were changed on all of them and when I try to set them back to normal, it won't save them. I tried to change it in global settings but changing it to "preset/snapshot/global" seems to do nothing... Like it gets stuck on the EXP I currently select. This happens even if I create a new preset, for example (01A) set on EXP 1 (red led). After saving it and making sure "preset" is selected in the expression pedal settings, I select another preset (01B) and select EXP 2 (green led). When I go back to 01A, EXP 2 is still on instead of the one I previously saved it on! Turning it on and off doesn't make any difference either. I already tried some restart combinations too and it only rebuilds my presets but the bug persists. Also I have an external pedal controlled by the Helix MIDI OUT. When turning it off and then back on, it sends a MIDI message I never set to my external pedal and I can't stop it from doing it. Everything was great until I found this huge bug. I can't really use it like this so I had to go back to 2.71. Is it maybe something I’m doing wrong?

I updated my two Helixes today after work. Both updates went perfectly. I love the new amps but didn't get much time to spend with them, what I did try I like a LOT. Everything working great so far.

Not having to run midi cables now and having L6-Link functional is just wonderful! Still looking for that tuner in the editor thou... ; )

Great work from line6 here! I like lots of the new features and pedal models. I hope they will implement a db meter for the compressors with the next version. Thank you Line6 for another great update free of charge.

Same here Helix LT stuck at 50% forever. Tried to restart, now the helix is not recognized anymore by the updater and stuck in boot mode.

Yes but after the auto reboot nothing happen. The updater stays there, at 50% stuck forever.

Ya know the way I see this is if Line-6 would not make the firmware available thru anything but "Line 6 Updater", there wouldn't be any confusion factor here to mess with and you wouldn't be so tired. With how its setup now (new firmware available for download "twice" (with updater and a download) and its right next to HX Edit in the same DL section, Line 6 is creating all the confusion, not the user.

Hello Gents, Please find another pic showing the Standard 4CM connection with internal Pre-amp and external Pre-amp selection per patch. (depending on the Helix FX Loop being ON or OFF). I hope this helps seeya Joe

Mine is stuck in boot mode now after hours of it just spinning at 50% now my helix isnt seen by updater and even the the safe mode commands are doing nothing. Line 6 knew that tons of people were complaining and 2 days later they are still letting people download and brick their helix. I'm so made I'm screwed now. I have show tomorrow this 3 day bulllollipop to respond is goofy as hell. Anybody else have same issue and figured out how to fix it. I cant even reset it to factory reset. ** thanks for all the help switching computers and changing cables ended up working. The guy at music store thinks my computer is to new and pushed to much information at it. All I know is it didnt work and now it does. Apparently first gen helixs were having this issue. ****

its not negative its the truth how many amps do you need? Studio setting? so many add ons from software you can use its not feedback its just turned into pure bitchingggg about everything.I dont reply to post much but I just had to because its always the same,when is the new update coming? hey guys why didnt you do this that this that,cts already and make do with what you have which is PLENTY!!!!!
