  1. In case it’s of use to anyone I’ve been looking for something to cover the unused sockets Helix Floor to give it a bit more protection and make setup easier at gigs (when they start again...) as I’m just guitar in and line outs mostly live with usb for MIDI Guitar on iPad sometimes and USB in studio I found these things on eBay called Jackcaps, they’re blanking cap covers for most socket types, jack, XLR, MIDI that look perfect, just waiting for delivery (I won’t post a link to a seller as there are several and I have no affiliation to any of them) See uploaded photo If they’re as good as they look I’ll also use some for other live gear to make it easier to setup with only the required sockets available to access All I need now is something for the digital ports if anyone’s seen anything Cheers

  2. just saw this today, thought I'd share... not a lot of specifics, but it's clear the Helix is now his primary pedalboard. https://www.guitarworld.com/features/steve-howe-you-cant-search-for-your-own-sound-youve-already-got-it-its-there

  3. That was a nice read. Thanks. I liked this part as it summarizes the Helix and how to approach using it. A lot of work upfront so it simply does what you need it to when you need it to. "I like to press one button and radically change my sound. I just press a button and it all happens at once. That is heaven, you know. Performing is all about preparation. It took me a while to get into programming, but the [Line 6] Helix can do everything I can possibly want and, therefore, that’s all I want to use."

  4. Many amp tone controls are actually rather limited in their range in real life, so it might just be that. Sometimes they’re interactive with other controls. Like they might give you more pronounced results at higher gain settings or something like that. If you’re wanting to make more drastic changes, you’d probably want to use the EQ block.

  5. I would like the CustomTone site to have filters for IRs or the Variax. I use neither and would appreciate being able to filter out the noise. Conversely, I would imagine that IR or Variax users could select to filter those into the list.

  6. Hi @HeathDaddy and others on this thread... TLDR: possible solution: take out any SD card you might have in the Surface Pro's built-in reader. I've had exactly the same problem as you, same fault offset in the event log and been trying to fix. I am also on a surface pro that has worked with HX Edit fine until this upgrade I was talking to support at Line6 who asked me to check the Disk 0 thing that has been mentioned in this thread. I had already checked that and hx edit was correctly on disk 0, but I went ahead and checked it anyway. On mine there was a second disk listed which is because I use a micro SD card in the Surface Pros built-in memory card reader. I decided to pop that out to make sure that i only had a single disk 0 and then HX Edit magically opened up! popped the card back in and HX Edit crashed on start up again before any dialog appeared. I've also noted that if I take the same SD card and add it to the system through a USB card reader (on the same drive letter) it lists exactly the same in the system and in disk partition utilities but HX edit opens just fine, so there's something specific about the way that Microsoft mount the inbuilt card reader that is mucking HX edits start up code (in my case) There's obviously something wrong with they way they go through the disks at start-up, maybe they were trying to fix disk 0 and they've caused something else? I don't know, but at least I can open it again! I've written back to line 6 to tell them that the SD card reader was causing it to crash and to reiterate that this was working fine before the upgrade (even with an SD card in), but hopefully any SP users out there struggling can get on with editing their presets now! 7. SOLVED Thanks to the support team, great help. Make sure HX Edit is the 2.90 version and your Line 6 Updater is all the latest version Exit HX Edit and turn of the Helix Connect the Helix to your computer Restart Helix LT with Footswitch 6+12 pressed Start Line 6 Updater You should see the Helix now in your divice list and can perform the update Make sure the Computer deosnto go into sleep mode when updating, that was my problem at first.

  8. It's like my transmitters battery is completely dead. I've only had this for a little over 1 year. Great when it worked but now it's just worthless.
