EUREKA!!! Thank you very, very, very much!!! All it took was removing the SD card from my Dell laptop and both HX Edit 3.0 and Helix Native 3.1 downloaded and worked seamlessly. I then put the SD card back in (being a glutton for punishment) and not surprisingly both programs crashed. I t hen removed the SD card and both again worked. Thank you very, very much! As to Line 6, seriously??? You have very sophisticated software and your software engineers couldn't figure out that SD cards could blow up their programs? Then you don't put that in your notes to users? I spent at least 40 hours trying to find the root cause; and the answer rested with datacommando!!!

That sounds more like an actual wah pedal to me. Given the time it was recorded, I’d be surprised if was an envelope filter, given that the MuTron didn’t come out until 1972.

I bought the Powercab second hand, and the cable came with it. The mfr says "Use this cable", and I have the cable, so..... There's so many people posting here and elsewhere "I did such and such using this or that instead of what I know I should use, and it was working, and now weird stuff is happening! Help me!" The answer is "Use the right thing!" And the result is "Hey, that worked!" Yes, I read somewhere that someone used an XLR cable with good results. As I recall, he'd plugged it into a microphone connected to the Helix mic input and thought he was using the L6 link. Sometimes I fear for the future of Humankind.

Here's another video from Jeff McErlain on just fuzz. He's demonstrating a Jasse Davey King Tone silicone Fuzz. There's a bunch of new fuzz options in Helix 3.01. There's also a new global option to have Auto Input impedance to be set to match the first enabled block in the signal chain. So you don't have to live with a lot of tone suck when the fuzz is off anymore. But I still struggle to reproduce what Jeff can do with act Jasse Davey fuzz. I did however have some pretty good success with the Legacy Drive based on . Give that a try and let us know what you think.
