  1. So I have a Helix and am constantly amazed with what it can do in terms of emulation of amps and effects, but my sounds don't always sound as good as they could because, probably like most amateur guitarists, I don't change my strings very often. Then it occurred to me that with all of this processing power, how come there is not a "string cleaner" emulator that could make a guitar with old strings sound like new? I'm sure that every guitarist out there would appreciate this and it would save us a fortune at the same time. Come on Line6 - sort it out! Clean our strings for us! Ernie Ball might not thank you for it but the rest of us will. :-)

  2. No, you add one more Tilt :-) /Per

  3. The Tilt EQ block was designed specifically for this use. Over time you will need to tilt it more. If you have it tilted all the way and your strings still sound dull and lifeless, however, it is finally time to change them. But you should be able to get several good years out of one set. Just scrape the crust off periodically.

  4. On a PC you can't PRACTICALLY (there are workarounds that mostly don't work consistently) use two ASIO devices at once. That means connecting your ID44 and your Helix by USB won't work. Your ID44 has the ability to do everything you want. I suggest you go to their website and watch all the videos while referencing the manual. Depending on which Helix you have, you might be able to use the S/PDIF Inputs on the ID44 (need adapter) and eliminate the (pretty much inaudible) AD/DA conversion that would be necessary using the XLR from Helix to ID44. If you bought your Helix new (or if the previous owner didn't use the discount), you can get a great discount on the Helix NATIVE Plugin. You put that on a track in your DAW, record a clean guitar signal on the track, then process it through NATVE any way you like. No need for traditional re-amping. Helix routing options make this easy, and whatever sound you make on the HW Helix can be duplicated in Native. After you've done some research on the Audient site and better understand the ID44's capabilities, come back here for answers to specific Helix questions.

  5. You may want to consider this item; EM CUSTOM. Loopers, Midi controllers, interfaces ... Dennis PS: Read about this item and even reach out to the developers if you have any questions. The drop down before purchase tells which amp you want to use it for.

  6. That doesn't seem to exist at this time... There are a few requests at ideascale you could upvote... this one appears to be closest to what you would like but it is quite old and doesn't have a lot of traction. https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Auto-Stomp-Mode/827537-23508 If you start a new request I'll be happy to upvote it. Having the ability to use Stomp Mode as the default landing place (after any choice is made) makes sense to me.

  7. I mounted six in a rack in a 2x3 config. Worked just fine. It's been awhile, but I believe you connect two units together using a rail and then insert the two units as a whole into the rack. All the mounting hardware should be included if you bought new units.

  8. - Quit HX Edit! Don't start it again until you're finished with everything following. - Go here and download the Line 6 Updater (in case it's not installed on your machine already): https://line6.com/software/ - Also download the "Flash Memory" from there (it's the actual update). - Install the updater. - Reboot the Helix while holding down switches 6 and 12 (this will take you to safe boot mode). - Start the Line 6 Updater, select "Offline Mode" and see whether it finds your Helix. - If yes, select it and choose "local file". Point it to the Flash Memory file you've downloaded.

  9. The V3 updates resets the global settings... the suggestion above to restore your old global settings is the best option. But if you just want to find the offending setting, it is right here... Global Settings > Footswitches > Snapshot Mode Switches. From the manual: When set to “Auto Return,” Helix LT returns to the previous footswitch mode after selecting a snapshot. When set to “Manual Return,” Helix LT stays in Snapshot footswitch mode until you press FS6 (MODE). If you want to stay in Snapshot mode once you are there you will want to set this to "manual return"

  10. Hello Helix friends, I made a set of Heavy 412 IR's for my own use and thought I would share with y'all. I created and tweaked them specifically for the higher gain Helix amps (Mesa, Engl, Bogner, Peavey, Soldano, etc.). https://www.dropbox.com/sh/aiz98594dds5i51/AAB1-NcuUKjTNBZsVN3QOo-ua?dl=0 Heavy412Creamy.wav Heavy412Edge.wav Heavy412Sizzle.wav Heavy412Smooth.wav Heavy412Thump.wav

  11. It could be that the pedal's board is shot. Which I do believe a replacement is not a bank breaker but until then: Q: How do I calibrate the Expression pedal on the POD X3 Live? A: 1. Go to test mode by holding down 'Right' on the directional pad when you power up. 2. Highlight Pedal Cal. 3. Press the INPUTS button. 4. Set the pedal to the heel position. 5. Press the A footswitch to get data on pwm duty cycles. 6. Set the pedal to the toe position. 7. Press the B footswitch to get data on pwm duty cycles. 8. Press the C footswitch for automatic selection of the best duty cycle. 9. Move the pedal to get smooth 0-255 Scaled Values. 10. Press the D footswitch to save the settings.
