  1. Hi Andy Whilst not the 'fix' you're looking for - an option is to create a template you use to create your patches with those snapshot names already in it. That might sound a bit weird, but over time I've found I prefer a standard order to my snapshots to make stage work easier, and that they are generally the same name. Where I rename one it will be for a very specific purpose. I also have a preferred layout for my paths (position of classes of effects and amps and cabs and my I/O) which is also included in the template with compnents acting as place holders. This simplified my worklow significantly and makes patch creation very fast. YMMV.

  2. Yep, as Waymda suggested, you'll want to combine anything that you find yourself repeatedly doing in most presets/snapshots into a "template" which is just a baseline preset to start with. Copy it into the intended destination as your starting point whenever you design a new preset, rename it, and save yourself time on repetitive tasks. You can also make good use of the Favorites and Defaults for inserting blocks that have your settings already dialed in.

  3. I expect the decision to not include VDI on the products you mention is based on physical size and price targets for those products. It was decided that the VDI jack takes up too much real estate and adds too much cost. For these products smaller and cheaper were more important goals, especially since relatively few guitar players own a Variax so the increased size and price for all would benefit relatively few entry level product purchasers.

  4. I believe you can re-insert the card after HX Edit loads as a workaround, if that helps. No one here is going to be able tell when or if it’s something that will be fixed.

  5. Type the name changes in HX Edit instead of doing it on the unit itself one letter at a time... you could rename multiple snapshots in less time than it took you to type that post.

  6. However, using bare feet as per your profile pic erases any naming applied :0

  7. And the world of Helix users are all better off for it..... NOW THAT is what would be correctly identified as "rude".

  8. All my old presets have the wait time set to 0 as default so have you restored from a backup and allowed the Helix to rebuild presets after the update? This procedure is when presets get updated and new parameters added and would explain what you're seeing. Craig

  9. Hi and thanks for the video. That is what I thought of how the automation should work and watching the demo helps using it for recording. Thanks again for quick response to my question and pointing me in the right direction.

  11. THANK YOU! After fighting with Helix Native for about 5 hours your solution helped me figure it out! In my case it wasn't and SD card in a reader, but rather the reader itfself being visible to the system as an empty drive. I only had to remove it - and voila, Native and Edit are working!

  12. L6 should put use this meme as splash screen, everytime you check for a new update from the HX Edit. A simple rule in software development is to avoid an application doing something it should not, like updating a piece of hardware from the wrong bridge.

  13. Yea this is absolutely rude to tell someone asking a valid question to go read the manual. Because you're assuming that's how everyone can learn things. But many many people have learning disabilities of different styles of learning (auditory, tactile, hands on, etc) Reading a manual is often one of a person's weakest learning Method. I personally have a high IQ but my attention span for reading a manual just isn't there anymore at my age. I ask friends, watch demos, research forums before going into a manual. Some people are manual readers some are not. I bring this up because this is a comment I see fairly often on forums from people that basically want to put other people down to lift themselves up. This is a weak character trait often characteristic of the non-creative type, unemotional, or the old-fashioned conservative type

  14. What's rude about that? Reading the manual can be very helpful. In your case, you wouldn't have had to come here, ask the question, and wait for an answer. The answer was already at your fingertips. I fail to see how pointing that out is rude. What is rude, however, is suggesting that I have a personal problem.

  15. Clearing any block in the preset would also remove it from all snapshots, along with any history of its relation to any snapshots. If you add the block back in you would be starting from the block's' default settings, including being unassigned to any snapshot.

  16. WHY do people have to be rude?! Sounds like a personal problem to me.
