  1. How to control and change Helix presets to sync with lyrics/songsheets on iPad by using OnSong. My Need: I wanted my guitar and vocal effects preset on the Helix to change depending on the song currently displayed on my iPad. So, Song 1 on my iPad would have a preset attached to it and when I flipped to Song 2 on my iPad, the preset would change on my Helix automatically. My Setup: I have an iPad with the OnSong app, Helix Floor and a iRig BlueTurn bluetooth page flipper pedal I have my iPad directly connected to the Helix via USB (and usb to lightning adapter). The only thing you need to make sure of is that, in the OnSong Settings, you have MIDI enabled. On the Helix make note of the MIDI Channel your Helix is assigned to (this can be assigned to any number) and that your Helix is sending MIDI through USB in the Global Settings panel The Solution: HELIX SETUP: 1. Go to your Preset List page (push down on Preset knob) and select the preset you want to sync to OnSong 2. Take note of the MIDI info. There should be 3 groups of numbers. For my example, Semi-Charmed Life's group of numbers read CC32: 003 | PC: 045 | CC69: 000 3. CC32 is the Control Channel number. 003 is the bank or folder in that Control Channel (which is labeled 4 FD in my Preset List). 4. PC: 045 is the Program change number, or in my case, the song Preset number. 5. Basically, those numbers mean that Semi-Charmed Life is located in Control Channel 32 in Folder 3 as preset 45. 6. All of these settings are distributed through MIDI Channel 5; which was established earlier in the My Setup section. **TAKE NOTE of the above parameters as you will be referencing those in the MIDI setup in OnSong** ONSONG SETUP: 1. Go to the song you want to sync in your Onsong app. For Reference, mine is Semi-Charmed Life 2. Press and hold on the Title of the song until the MIDI panel pops up 3. Add a MIDI command by clicking on the + icon in the bottom right of the popup 4. Hit the + icon and under TYPE, select Program. Under CHANNEL, select 5. Under the PROGRAM section below, select the preset number (which is 45 in my example). In the Bank section, we will leave Bank MSB alone and just change the Bank LSB to 3 (which is the bank/folder number my preset is located in Click DONE. Set up those parameters for a couple songs and flip through your songs on your OnSong App. The corresponding Helix preset should change along with it. Once you get the hang of the settings, adding multiple songs becomes quite effortless. THAT'S IT!

  2. I also have the Sony MDR-V6 which are 32 ohm IIRC, and similar to the 7506. Those sound harsh to me. They're also closed back vs the AKG being open back, which I prefer. If you do a search on here for headphones, there's a number of lengthy discussions. Also over on TGP in the D&M forum. You could probably save yourself a lot of time and get a much wider range of opinions by checking those out.

  4. sunset sinners - old glory MIDI: CC32:6@3, 0:46@3 First line is the song info Second line is the midi code The "@3" indicates I am transmitting on midi channel 4 (yeah I know off by one). The "6@3" loads bank 7 (yes, again the off by one thing). "0:46@3" loads patch 46 (this is correct and not off by one for some reason). Took some trial and error with the midi channel and bank number being off by one, and there may be a better way to code this, but once I get something to work I'm usually off to something else. I'll import a .pdf of some handwritten notes generally, and then attach this bit of code to it inside OnSong. Once that's done, rearranging set lists is as simple as moving stuff around with your finger. Never have to rearrange any patches on the Helix. Huge time saver, fantastic app!

  5. Hi, You must be U.K. based if you are asking for the 3 pin plug adaptor. This sort of thing crops up on here occasionally and trying to get just the individual part proves to be quite difficult. This might be an easier and better option for U.K. use. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Replacement-Adaptor-Negative-Centre-Supply/dp/B07Y8M9GH5 Check it out and see if could work for you. Also a similar adaptor from Fleabay, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Replacement-9V-3A-AC-DC-Adaptor-Negative-Centre-Power-Supply-for-Line6-DC-3g-/401595600064 Here’s an old spec list Hope this helps/makes sense.

  7. Sometimes, hitherto undiscovered quantum particles from galaxies trillions of light years away will pass through our primitive electronic devices, causing random fluctuations in the force. Perform a factory reset.

  8. Well, the good news is that the reason why they're eBooks is they get updated, like software, every six months to a year. The equivalent of "point" updates are free, new editions are half-price to current book owners. This gets around the problem of technology books getting out of date so easily - especially with the frequent Helix updates!

  9. The only way this could possibly happen is if the LOOP block became disengaged on the Helix. Double check your presets and make sure there isn't a snapshot or stomp button that is disengaging the LOOP block, or changing the value of the BLEND/MIX at the loop block. You do say that changing presets did not solve it while a reboot does. I don't have an answer or suggestion for that. I'm assuming that the presets you are changing in/out of all have LOOP blocks on them, and that those blocks are engaged.

  10. I run my whole live rig from OnSong. Swipe the screen on the iPad, loads the Helix Patch, which in turn loads my guitar model and tuning on the JTV59. Works great. Any set list changes, just rearrange the set list in OnSong and I never have to touch the patch order on the Helix. Super easy to access multiple banks as well. Little snippet of code typed into the OnSong app takes care of everything. Tremendously useful app...

  11. It is now April 2021. 'Delay' in upgrading to Big Sur for most users is not sustainable. The endless leapfrogging of silicon/OS/Apps forces one to upgrade one or the other over time. Apps won't work without OS upgrade or new features won't be available without upgrade. Perpetual upgrade nag screens are like a dripping tap. I can get by with manually twiddling the knobs and buttons on my HDX500X but the Mac editor is massively more convenient and fast. I have a gig and new material on day after lockdown finishes (21st June) and want to rejig the POD. I upgraded MacBook to AIR/M1 so as to be able to carry on using my DAW and now I can't use the POD (inter alia). I bought the POD a few years back to trim down my ever growing or changing pedal set expecting to handle everything with one device. Line 6 Monkey and HD edit downloaded and installed but non-op and can't 'see' the POD. I hope it is going to be sorted soon.

  12. Good point silverhead. I figured out way to do it!, well this puts it back to "new preset" as if you deleted it and it's back to new as you never changed it. Just copy a "new preset" and paste it on a preset you want to delete. I know to some of you it seems silly but it helps me clean up my set list so I don't get confused...with presets I don't like or want to use. When your on stage playing out you need to think fast and I only want to see what I can use.
