  1. Or you could use send block(s) for 1/4 inch output with 100% pass-through to the IR and make out XLR only. If you use this consistently across patches you just need ot remember what to plug your power amp to.

  2. I think it was me you were talking with over on TGP... Exact same situation but I'm not the OP here. The LL will in fact respond to CC's sent from the HXS. I swapped a couple settings as you suggested over on TGP (on the HXS side) and it has helped but I'm still sorting out exact details. (It worked backwards from what I was intending so I just need to flip something somewhere, lol). I will report back here and TGP when I figure things out.

  3. Full amp sims with solid state / classD amps for me. If I'd use preamps I'd add an impedance curve'ish eq. Here is how and why.

  4. That noise does not indicate a defective unit and sounds like normal behavior of the Helix. IMHO

  5. If you are referring to the sound of the fingers, sliding on strings, that's potentially happening with a wide range of variables....so comparing the two devices, wont help you breaking down the issue. Usually it's a countereffect of hi gain settings, especially with bright amps/cabs, but it can be exacerbated by compressors, strings, pickup height, playing style etc etc. Also, it can be expected when using the acoustic sim, similar to what you get with piezo saddles. We need more info. :)

  6. Don't disregard the manual. There are a lot of things this unit will do that you might not stumble on without reading through it... or reading through sections of it. Even though the Helix dominates You Tube, there are still plenty of HX Effects tutorials to be found. Keep in mind that many of the Helix or HX Stomp videos are interchangeable with the HX Effects other than the amp models and some of the programmability. Once you know you way around the HX Effects there are a lot of tricks to be learned from the videos on those other models. An then there is the Line 6 videos.... listed in a small section on this page. https://line6.com/support/page/kb/tutorial-videos/line-6-video-tutorials-r202/

  7. @waymda ah that's an excellent point! A bit of work to change current patches to that model, but then it gives me all flexibility I need. Thanks for the suggestion!

  8. I finally figured it out... with no help from the manual. I guess I just don't understand a lot of what's going on in the manual. However, I've gotten it to work and it's definitely a step up from my M5! Glad I bought it.

  9. It's actually very fast and simple. Use the Presets button/knob on the device - not the editor. Rotate the knob one click left and immediately back a click right. The first rotation loads the adjacent preset, wiping out unsaved changes in the current preset. The second rotation reloads the original preset and changes are gone.
