I would love to be able to select a preset from another setlist... or just go to another setlist by hitting a stomp button. Is there something like that available? I was thinking about trying something in the command center... if I can assign a button to a preset in another setlist, then maybe I can create a preset that has a preset from each setlist... then clicking on that would take me to that setlist. Going to try that tonight. Would love to know if anyone else has done this. Thanks.

Hello, Someone in the comment section of the video below says that a user has created a tool for converting presets using cabs before 3.5 by replacing them by new IR cabs. Is it true? Can someone post the link, please? Thanks. ) sait

Be more specific. The problem being addressed was that Cakewalk would "hang". Is that what's happening? If 1.97 is completely off your system, you could try re-installing Cakewalk.

Instead of wasting your IR block, try these (attached). 2 to 1 uses a FS to switch L/R Inputs into a single signal chain. 2 to 2 allows use of both Inputs into separate signal chains. This example is configured for guitar and bass but could just as easily be configured for acoustic and electric. Input 2 to 1.hlx Input 2 to 2.hlx

That’s exactly what I was thinking - it should be easy enough to swap cabs as and when you need to change them.

I sent the guy an email and he's working on making it able to process entire setlists.

You won't damage anything. If you set your outs to line level, either levels should be pretty much the same, the main difference being that the XLR outs are providing a balanced signal which is less prone to whatever interferences. Usually, with shorter cable runs, it doesn't make much of a difference, if any. You don't. Apart from the global EQ, all these settings are only available on the hardware.

This is a no brainer if you're using an external MIDI controller which is what I use. From the Helix Wiki Help site, if you press the presets button to open up the setlist menu and dial up the setlist and preset you want it will display the appropriate CC32 value for the setlist, the PC message number for the preset and the CC69 value for the snapshot. Plug those values into your external MIDI controller to send to the Helix and it all happens like magic.

Thanks for the reminder this is out there! With luck it will spur some new contributions or be a source for some players looking to try out some IRs.

That was a fun experiment! Connect MIDI IN and OUT (or use a MIDI Routing SW if connected), turn off MIDI PC SEND and MIDI THRU (to prevent a MIDI LOOP). Then set a FS to BANK/PROGRAM: Bank CC00=0 BankCC32=Destination Bank# (0-7) Program=Destination Program # It works. HOWEVER - if the destination preset contains a similar configuration wherever it points is where you'll end up. In that case it seems to act like a toggling message or Instant Command, executing on preset load. I expect this is the kind of "bug" that results from no one considering that anyone would ever want to do this, so it was never tested. Helix users - pushing the boundaries! NOTE and WARNING!: In the course of having all that fun I tried several combinations of Bank Select settings. Some of them crashed HX Edit and appeared to have corrupted one of the setlists. Fortunately, a simple reboot fixed it.

Josh at L6 Support fixed it! At least it works with Reaper, I don't currently have any other DAWs installed to test on.

It looks like the 3.5 factory setlist TEMPLATES is broken - the actual presets are shifted one preset back with relation to their titles in the preset list, as illustrated below: the first preset called "Quick Start" is not the actual "Quick Start" preset as it was in 3.15, but in fact it is the "Parallel Spans" preset. The actual "Quick Start" preset is missing. Next preset called "Parallel Spans" is in turn the actual "SNP:4-Amp Spill" preset, an so on. Not a terribly huge deal since you can always just restore 3.15 TEMPLATES from backup, but still looks like a bug.

We all hate the Helix here. I'd ask the Fractal forum.

Setlist/preset management is one of the areas on HX devices that could use improvement. Hopefully a firmware update and/or enhancements to the librarian functionality in HX Edit at some point will address this. We need a setlist "meta" layer with pointers to presets rather than having to import/load every preset to a physical location coupled with enhancements to the interface to make swapping things around easier.
