  1. Okidoki. No promises that this will definitely work, but it won't hurt. Download Line 6 Updater. Download Firmware v2.80. Plug in to your computer and switch on your Helix. Open Line 6 Updater in offline mode. Find your device, and do a manual install of the v2.80 firmware you downloaded. When done, close Line 6 updater,, unplug the Helix and do a factory reset of the Helix. Plug the Helix in to the computer. Open HX Edit. Follow every instruction to the letter and be patient. I expect there to be an error message along the way. Don't panic. Keep following the onscreen instructions. Assuming it updates successfully, do another factory reset and install a backup of your presets.

  2. Always connected, Edit always open, no problem here. I'll keep my eyes open and see if it pops up. Intermittent problems are such a PITA to troubleshoot. After a while they cause me to question my sanity!

  3. You didn't specify your OS, so I'll assume Windows. Windows can only use ONE ASIO device at a time. That device handles both Input and Output. You would need to get an external Audio Interface. Use that as the ASIO in Reaper and connect the DI Out from the Catalyst to the AI Input. Connect the AI Output to your speakers. In Windows Sound Panel set the AI as the Playback device to get computer sounds, streaming, etc. to the speakers. The Behringer Euphoria series is VERY cheap. Emphasis on VERY CHEAP - UM2 is <>$50. But they work. I personally favor the Focusrite Scarlett series. Scarlett Solo is <>$100. They work VERY well. NOTE - if you think you'll want to record your playing with backing tracks or streaming you'll need to set the Windows Playback Device to the computer's sound card and connect the computer's output to the AI. IOW - the AI will need to have at least two more LINE Inputs (or one STEREO Input) in addition to the DI from the Cat.

  4. Assign a FS to the FEEDBACK parameter with the MIN set to your default and MAX set to 100. FS ON = INFINITE repeats; FS OFF = DEFAULT repeats. Place your VOLUME block before the effect. Start the effect by hitting a note and the FS (or vice versa), pull back the VOLUME and turn on the tuner. When you're done tuning, exit the tuner and hit the FS again to stop the effect. There's probably other ways and it may depend on the effect, but I tried it with a Simple Delay and it worked a treat!
