For best results its recommended that the Apple branded USB Camera Connection Kit is needed for a proper connection with your iOS device. Non-Apple Camera Connection kits are could be subject to improper connection. Be sure you're using the correct adapter kit, if you have trouble connecting.
Stated in the Spider V 20 manual:
iOS device operation requires use of Apple USB Camera Connection Kit, sold separately. iOS version 10 or greater is required.
