Attention AMPLIFi and Firehawk owners:
As of November 1, 2023, new users running Android versions higher than KitKat (Android 4.4, API Level 19) will no longer see AMPLIFI and Firehawk remote available in the Google Play store. Existing users will still be able to access the apps, regardless of Android version. “New user” means that the user has never downloaded the app, and wishes to do so for the first time. “Existing user” means that the user has previously downloaded our app.
As Firehawk support expires 5/1/2024, and AMPLIFi support expires 12/1/2023, we had already planned to not update these apps. However, we have made the APK (Android Application Package) needed by new users to run the app available to download at https://line6.com/software/index.html. NOTE: The Android APK for these legacy products is provided as is. Compatibility with latest operating systems and Android devices is not guaranteed.
Follow these steps to install the app:
- On your Android device download the AMPLIFi Remote installer from the download page.
- Locate the "AMPLIFi Remote 2.61.0.zip" file on your device. Files are usually downloaded to the mobile's "Downloads" folder. They can also be found in the "Installation Files" folder.
- Click "AMPLIFi Remote 2.61.0.zip" and open with My Files.
- Select the Extract option.
- Click "AMPLIFi Remote 2.61.0.apk". Open with Android's Package Installer, when/if prompted. You will then be guided to system settings and must allow "install from unknown sources".
- You are presented with a list of apps. Touch the slider for the "My Files" app and choose "Install". The next screen displays "Choose what to allow AMPLIFi Remote to access.” ***Do not change any settings here or the app may not function as intended.***
- Open the app to verify the installation was successful. Remove the zip file and the extracted folder containing the APK installer.
