When used for volume does it just control the master volume?

in other words if you have an MP3 playing on aux in does it continue play. So just muting the guitar tone?

Usual position for a Compressor is before the amp.

Please can this be made 'movable ' in an update?

Had the same problem and I’m afraid it’s an impossible home fix.

You will have to return it!

Unfortunately the 'original' tone, in this case 'passthrough' will always play through the amp. Inputting the sim tone through either the usb or aux in works but it has the original in the background.

I have bought a pair of active speakers to play the amp sims through which I also use for the Spider when playing along with stereo backing tracks as it sounds more integrated 

After further investigation I’ve learned to set the 'amp' volume (not master) to max in your amp bypass patch for best results.

also output form iPad headphone socket into headphones or separate amp as although the Sim sound played through the Spider it gets mixed with the amps 'pass through' patch i created.

I am sure Line 6 could relaeas a firmware with a setting to bypass the original tone and make this a great interface as well as a great amp!

Did a full run down and recharge test this morning and played.

only lasted 28 minutes ☹️

Dealer has responded by saying I must return to Line 6 for repair or replacement with minimum two week turnaround.

Hi all

had a new spider v 60 and G10t last july. So:less than six months old and light home use only.

Never realised it was supposed to last eight hours until read here today.

when new it was around two hours but now cuts off in under one hour!

charges with flashing then constant green as it’s supppsed too. And I always unplug it when not in use.

Virtually unusable at the moment!

Plus as I don’t have a base I can’t upgrade firmware, although it seems to be a battery issue tbh

gives same life regardless of guitar

have emailed dealer and awaiting response

This isn’t about recording but as an alternative to a Sonic port.

Ok appears you can’t overide whatever tone you send into the iOS.

annoying as there is obviously a way to do this if Line 6 wanted to allow this feature

Can’t find anything on this so apologies if it’s old news.

i just discovered you can use the Spider V as an iOS interface with all the top amp sims even MobilePod!

Not got it perfect at the moment but it is workIng. Surely wouldn’t be hard for Line 6 to make this happen. Although it would make sonic ports irrelevant..lol

Connected as usual and created a new patch called 'pass through ' with all amps, cabs, effects etc turned off. Don’t forget to set the downloaded Apps to use the microphone.

like said it’s not perfect as I’ve used sims before with a sonic port and sound is slightly out and a bit dull. Managed to improve this by just turning on the equaliser on the amp and upping the treble. 

You can even use the amp effects in conjunction with the sim for on the fly reverb and delay etc.

Download something like Tonebridge free and give it a go. Plus I’d appreciate input in case I’m wasting my time.

edit. iOS definitely sees Spider as an interface correctly. 

Just bumping this as was told by tech they are aware and it will be addressed in update. On this I kept the amp passed its return date. So bit annoyed nothing is happening.

please add if you are also troubled with this fault.

Have the 60 with the tweeter.

yes it helps with music but the main speaker seems to be the problem. Agree on possibly changing both though.

Thinking of taking it apart and seeing specs of standard set.

seems a main with a greater frequency response and a tamer tweeter would help.

Also read of someone adding insulation inside which made a big difference.

shame there is no 'overall' equaliser that controls audio in as well as just guitar sound like the Mustang GT

Anybody replaced or are considering replacing the standard speakers?

Listening through good headphones is much better so Amp is capable of great sound!

Admittedly I play along with music tracks so would look to improve that also.

thing is, using Gilmourish and others, I know what to use but can’t get it right. 

Hiwatt 100, fuzz and delay I believe is the standard?

amazing the variations on the cloud? Even allowing for different pickups they should all be closer

i find my V60 too brash and want to mellow it?

None of those on my V60

Luckily mine was less than a week old so retailer replaced it.

 Only thing I found you can do is plug into pc and run Line 6 Updater which reinstalls firmware but this didn’t work for me but worth a try

No, was a V60 but probably the same firmware

Oh, and also I had no trouble with a cheap android phone

No fix. Been replaced by dealer

tbh I think it was a used model in the first place. Open box without seal and knobs not at zero like replacement

Just to confirm Line 6 have accepted the freezing issue and will be addressing it in an update
