If you don't want to spend the $$$$ to send in your DTxxxxx amp to get that new xformer for the DT50-212 or others, you can buy one [exact same brand/part #/etc.] from Full Compass. I bought one and works flawlessly. They are the latest xformers of course...not the older defective ones.

NOTE: Line 6 WILL authorize an out of warranty replacement for the transformer if you have one that is affected - via serial/date of purchase check, however, you are responsible for shipping the ENTIRE unit back..that means no taking out the head unit so to speak. This means: $$$$$$$$ in shipping....thus the simple buy it yourself and replace it option is desirable for a lot of us back, East. It's very simple to replace.

Also:

Does anyone know exactly what is stamped on their inline fuse (backside chassis mount).

Mine has the following:  313 on one side of the fuse AND and LF .1A/250VP on the other. The replacement is to be a:  T5AL250V  per the text just below the socket.

Can someone verify that this is the correct fuse that I have installed.

I purchased the amp from AMS on 1/5/2015 and it sat for 2.5 years due to being out of the country, however, my xformer died within 1 month of returning....just today 2018-April-7.  The fuse looks perfect and shows continuity via my DVM so I don't know.

My DT50 212 just bit the bullet just 5 minutes after turning it on and placing it into standby mode. I turned around and heard a soft click like noise and then nothing. ALL fuses are okay....outside (main) and the two internal fuses.

It has less then 10 hours of 'on/play time' and was purchased from AMS two years ago.

I know there were transformer issues mentioned in a service bulletin, however, I cannot find the information here. Can someone point me to that information please or explain if this (despite being out of warranty) is covered or not, etc. I saw the exact same transformer (number 1 below...the larger one) being sold for ~ $225.00. A crap load of $$ for a hunk of iron and copper.

If you do decide to mess around with your amp while it's on, do yourself a favor and invest (if possible) in an isolation transformer. It could save your life should you accidentally 'light up' your body.

They can be had for under $80.00 or you can make your own.

Isolation transformers provide galvanic isolation and are used to protect against electric shock, to suppress electrical noise in sensitive devices, or to transfer power between two circuits which must not be connected. A transformer sold for isolation is often built with special insulation between primary and secondary, and is specified to withstand a high voltage between windings.

 

Isolation transformers block transmission of the DC component in signals from one circuit to the other, but allow AC components in signals to pass. Transformers that have a ratio of 1 to 1 between the primary and secondary windings are often used to protect secondary circuits and individuals from electrical shocks between energized conductors and earth ground. Suitably designed isolation transformers block interference caused by ground loops. Isolation transformers with electrostatic shields are used for power supplies for sensitive equipment such as computers, medical devices, or laboratory instruments.

Tnx again guys for your input. Sorry abt the timing issue there....that would have been perfect too...you could have come to the studio here and demo'd it first as well. $580...yikes!....that is quite a bit more for sure.

Cheapest is $383 you say......okay...im not going to raise the price at all...hopefully someone will come along shortly.

The rest of my own personal Line 6 goodies (DT50 amps and so) are sweet, and sound fantastic with my PRS Cstom 24 Wood Library axe, so those I keep for sure.

Thanks for all the input. I just thought $250 would be a good asking price....even if it is been used extensively and is in perfect condition. I don't know what to say about that fact. This is why I will allow someone to return it if they don't like it. All I can say is that it was used once and give you my word. I do see that it is still being made and sold for $499.00, so I think that $250.00 is a fair price. I'm not looking to get anymore....I just want someone to have a shot at having one w/o paying the retail price.

I have a 100% feedback rating on our eBay site, so people can at least see that I am honest person....for whatever that's worth. I can always put it up for sale there and someone would have the extra 'protection' so to speak with regards to any problems. I suppose I could make a short video of it being used...lol...however, I don't think that would matter.

I will let it sit here for a bit longer to see.

I got a steal on a Spider Valve 112 amp for $25.00 :D with one issue (that I knew about of course).

I need to purchase a new/used control board (the smaller one which contains the LCD display, option menus, etc.)  - The smaller board that is connected to the longer board (the one with all the control knobs) via the ribbon cable. Someone tried to do something with it and totally botched it up (trace liftings, solder hole pads gone, etc, etc).

I bench tested the longer control board (with all the pots) and everything is AOK. I used part of another 112 board to verify that the remainder of the control board (the longer one) was still okay, so I know it just needs the smaller one.

This, unfortunately, is truly beyond repair. I have been repairing electronics and doing component level troubleshoot for many years and usually I can handle rigging something to get it in working condition, but this one is not worth the time it would take to redo the entire smaller board.

If ANYONE out there as one (both boards okay too), I would buy it in the blink of an eye. If anyone knows of any sources for boards for that unit, I would greatly appreciate a push in the right direction. I know plenty of part dealers, however, that is out of the question at this time. It's a very nice tube amp and I refuse to use it as a boat anchor.

If you have an entire 112 amp itself you would like to sell, I would even consider that was well - w/o speakers, tubes, etc. is okay.

I am doing this for the Youth Group that I help out at church and I think this would be a great amp for the kids.

Is the following interface suitable for updating my DT50 amplifiers firmware or do I need something more along the lines of a hardware interface....versus just the cables here. 

All I want to do is update the firmware and be able to flash whatever else is available as far as updates are concerned. I do not use MIDI for anything at this point in time.

I am assuming that a straight USB to MIDI (5 pin DIN) cable (x 2) is out of the question...(w/o any hardware).

I read over the TOS in regards to the forum here and didn't see anything in regards to posting a Line 6 item I have for sale, however, if there is an issue, please contact me and just to let me know.

I have for sale a new POD HD500x FX processor I bought from AMS about a year ago and it has been sitting idle in the box with all but 1 initial use. It's in perfect condition and still has the plastic on the LCD display. I have the OEM accessories as well as the receipt from AMS. The FX are indeed awesome with this, however, I am more of an 'old school' type of player and prefer mixing and matching good 'ol pedals and such and thus want to sell this to someone who could get more use out of it. The menu options and programming options are endless, so if your into the DSP, this is just one of the coolest processors around. I thought I might dabble into the newer types of processing hardware, but I just seem to be stuck with good old analog hardware when it comes to audio.

I paid just about $475.00 and I am asking $250.00...which is a steal. Shipping is included via USPS Priority Service w/ insurance of course to anywhere in the CONUS. The unit has NOT been registered (added to) my equipment list here @ Line 6, so you can register without any issues.

Hi

I am looking for anyone who might have or know where to get a complete UI PCB for a Valve 112 (Original model). I need the smaller, right hand side PCB for sure (the one with the LCD display and Master Volume control & LED). I know they are jumpered together via that ribbon cable and would probably would have to get both boards unless someone has one that has been de-soldered.

The part #'s are (Right):  35-00-0247-1 and (Left):  35-00-0247  - Both are REV A  7-June-2007

If someone does have just the right side one (the smaller one) I will buy it ASAP as well as the entire unit (both pieces).

I have searched on-line and found everything but this. If you know of someone or a site offering this exact part(s) I would appreciate the heads up :)

I just purchased both a DT50 212 and the POD 500HDX and was wondering if I still needed the MIDI to USB adapter to flash/upgrade the DT50's firmware (if needed at present). If it is updated, then I would hold of until I need to update the amp again and then buy one. I just figured I could use the USB port on the POD to route any updates needed to the amp via that L6 digital connection.

If I do need an adapter, does anyone have any recommendations? I saw a simple interface from Newegg below:
